Nice footage, we used to catch herring later in the year in the Shannon estuary years ago. I wonder is it worth a shot, might give it a go. Tight lines for 2025
Im new to fishing here been piking ( herring awesome bait) Chasing trout as well. Did a little sea fishing for mackerel with some success. On the Sabiki too. I didn't know that UV lit them up so thanks for that. Subbed.
The Jigpar...that is a sea fishing lure...But, it doesn't work like a spinner that spins on retrieve, it flutters as it sinks, that flutter with flashes as it spins in fall, can look like a small fish in distress, that is how that bait works. Out in the deeper sea, you would cast it, and let it sink, flutter to the bottom, then retrieve. Or you might have got lucky. The feathers. People have designed them by trial and error, they can look like look like a small shoal of small fish, and an easy snack for some mackerel.....I have yet to master shore sea fishing....the fresh water pike, I have...which is like catching crocodiles. Irish Waterways regulations, you're not meant to transfer one bait fish to another waterway type. You can catch a pike with a toy mouse, if you know what you're doing...If you don't know what you're doing, the Irish Pike isn't stupid...they didn't come down in the last shower.
Enjoyed the video however shining the headtorch at the camera is literally like shining it at the viewers. I watched this in a dark room and it literally startled me a few times. Secondly, and I don’t mean this in a dick way, but that’s not a pier. It’s technically a wall but certainly not a pier. Hope you hit 1000 subscribers soon. Happy new year and tight lines

I have figured out how Jipnar works in this rig....It gives enough weight for a long cast, but slowly sinks the Sabiki feathers....Ultra genius....
