Hi,
I’ve just discovered this channel and instantly subscribed. Great work and ideas! I will explore more of your videos. Thank you for the inspiration!
Welcome to the channel!
Loving your chanel. I'm just starting out with macro photography and your videos will give me a boost like no other. Thank you so much for these! I have a question though.. I see you are using the D5600? I got the older brother D5500. My question is: Is there any way to keep the aperture from closing down when disconnecting the lens? I have several lenses (including the 40mm F2.8) - most of the time however I need to get extremely close to the subject in order to get in there. I bought some extension tubes (without automation).. This keeps me locked at maximum aperture.. What would you recommend in that case?
Hi Lukasz, depending on how old your lens is, there may be a little pin on the connection surface that you would be able to strap down when off the camera that will give you control over the aperture still. I flipped a lens in the moss video and it might work with your lens setup too.
Nice and inspirational ideas for macro projects and to create some beautiful decorative frames. I guess we can start simple and after create some variations. Thanks :)
Glad you found some of these ideas useful :)
Good ideas. Thank you for sharing, I’ll have to try them.
Glad you found them inspiring!
Great ❤
Hi, I've just discovered your channel (and subscribed) and I'm loving it. I'm just getting into macro photography, it is so interesting.
Could you please tell me more about the little houses on the shelves behind you? ie Where can I get them? Who makes them? I would love to do some close-up photography with them.
Thank you.
Hey Scott, welcome to the channel!
Those are LEGO Modular buildings, they are different sets that all fit together. I actually used them in a shoot in one of our other videos, check it out to see them in a bit more detail - ua-cam.com/video/UpBwuMCMJ34/v-deo.html
Nice ideas, thanks for sharing!
You are most welcome, thanks for watching!
What lens are you reversing here? Looks cool as. I'm using a 28mm currently but wondering if you know anything to get closer or wider shots?
Hey, we used several different lenses, check out each video for the specific setup we used. There are lots of setups that will get closer and wider shots, check out the moss video where we reversed a lens like yours to make it a macro lens.
Hello.
I just discover this chanell and love it. I´m just wondering of the two arm light you are using in the video. Were can i buy this and what brand is it?
Best regards Tomas.
Hey Tomas! The lighting is the Adaptalux Studio, you can find out more here - adaptalux.com/studio/

Great and all are fun learning ideas. I don't have any macro lens to experiment, will try doing 2 and 3.
Let us know how you get on Venkatesh!
@@Adaptalux I tried many times to capture a macro with my phone, couldn't succeed as I get blurry shots... With Adoble LR camera, I got satisfying results... Anyways, I have subscribed your channel and learn from your interesting videos. Thank you. 😊✌🏽❤️

Hello, what kind of lamp do you use? What is it called or where can you buy it?
It's called the Adaptalux Studio, you can learn more about it here - adaptalux.com/studio/
It looks like you were doing some of your macro with your lens (50mm?) on backwards with a reverse adapter ring. Do you have a video where you discuss this technique?
Yep, I talk a little about that setup in the video on Moss. It's linked in the description.
Just wondering the camera setting of this kind of photography ?
Thank you
I really like ur tutorial.
Hi Jessica, there's a full tutorial for each of the different subjects seen here, check out the links in the description.
Very interesting.
Glad you enjoyed the video John.
What tools are you using for those shots! The light probe ?
It's our own design - adaptalux.com
I agree about moss, it's very surprising what's down in there when you get close up. The other week, light was fading and I took a couple of macro shots of a clump on top of a fence beside a nature pond, also on the fence was a patch of yellow and white, not sure, maybe a fungi? That's also very interesting close up. I'm sure you'll know what I mean. I'll do it again but closer next time and see just how close I can get, using Nikon D3200 + Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro.
My first view on your channel, nice ideas thankyou. Subscribed 👽
Welcome to the channel! Sounds like your subject could have been some kind of Lichen. You should check out our video on that too, its amazing under UV light.
@@Adaptalux Thank you, yes some kind of Lichen. I'll go check out some of your other videos now 👍
What lens did you reverse at 3:29?
Hey Mussa, it's a manual 50mm Olympus lens. Check out our moss video to see a bit more about it.

What's the name of that light which you used , which looks like octopus
It's the Adaptalux Studio, you can find out more about it here - adaptalux.com/studio
I love using dish soap in the tub or shower when I want to feel extra clean and extra bubbles in the bath......Dawn.....I figured if they use it on baby animals for oil spills it's safe in the shower and bathtub. 🥰🥰😊😊😀😀
Haha, never thought of that but I suppose of it cleans dishes it can clean people!
What the damn hell!? ua-cam.com/video/CxrFRyXFMz4/v-deo.html

Which Canon in 2019 under $700 is the best?
Canon EOS 80D is supposed to be quite good, not used it myself though.

Than you :))). Funny fact - i challenged my wife to do a macro of a melted chocolate... and she did it :D
Sounds like great fun, keep those challenges going I say!
It’s washing up liquid fella😂😂 Love the ideas though...
For the benefit of our American friends :)
Intro sound seems to heard before too😂😂
the problem with these abstract geometric subjects, like bubbles and ferrofluid, is that you can't really differentiate between CGI and reality, so the viewer who doesn't know how the image was created, is usually not as impressed as you are since these images are all over media already. it's better to try to integrate bubbles with more naturalistic forms.
A lot of joy can be derived from creating something yourself and exploring your own creativity through a medium like photography. It's not always about creating something to impress other people or even doing something unique and groundbreaking. Sometimes it's more about your own journey, learning, experimenting and pushing your own boundaries... or just having fun with a camera and some bubbles to see what happens.
It's so good I want to try it right now but I only have a smartphone with extra macro lens 😕😕
Some of these can be done with a smartphone for sure!
@@Adaptalux 😍
Why did it look like his lens was on backwards on one of those later shots
Because it was! If you reverse a normal lens, it can become a macro lens! Check out our moss video to see it in action.
Just found out that he is having cats..the hairs on his t-shirt
Yep, fur gets everywhere!
photo gear?
There's a wide variety used for each different subject. Check out the other videos for specific techniques and gear.
Adaptalux thank you
