I think WWDC this year will bring some amazing Machine Learning API to capture. If they gonna have VR in some point the Devs should have ways to capture the world more precise. I can’t wait.
Thank you! I haven't forgotten this request, I've just been too busy lately. It's on my to-do list along with a few other videos I hope to finish up soon! :)
@@LiDAR3D o saw the video. Seams very precise. I just curious about your take on how precise and useful Dot3D is with April Tags I know life happens. No worries. Thank you for taking your time to reply. Funny what technology brought tu us. I live in Maceió - AL, Brazil (I know you didn’t ask, just saying you can impact someone you can’t even imagine). Nobody here is talking about this niche topic. You are probably on other hemisphere and here we are. Talking about lidar scanning. Thank you for the content very useful.
Hi. 2 questions: 1.- For your BIM services, do you use point cloud and what format do we send it? 2.- What mode (lidar, room scan etc.) do you recomend for yourCAD/ BIM service?
Hi. Yes, we can work with point clouds but we prefer 3D meshes. Check out our video about meshes and point clouds if you haven’t already. Scanning in LiDAR mode and exporting a gltf file is our recommendation for most cases. Please feel free to send us and email at contact@lidar3d.io if you have any other questions or requests. Thanks for watching!
I use Magicplan and Polycam. I love Polycam, but unfortunately, we can't merge rooms in case of 2 scans, nor can we join 2 floors together. However, Polycam offers more possibilities and produces a nicer rendering. I'm torn... 😅
LiDAR mode captures a raw mesh (examples can be seen in this and other video on the channel). Room mode does an automatic convertion of the raw mesh into a parametric model which then can be used for some specific applications where raw meshes are less suitable. So basically you can say that Room mode (Apples RoomPlan) performs a task automatically which previously required manual CAD drafting skills.
Hi! Yes, we have tested several. Including development of apps built on similar technology. There are multiple apps that uses the RoomPlan API from Apple and they are all more or less the same accuracy. Since releasing this video Apple have announced improvements to the AR kit and RoomPlan API in connection with launching the Vision Pro hardware in the coming 6 months or so. Have you tried any scanning apps that you think is better? Thanks for watching

Same here :)
Great content, thank you
Thank you
Can you do Dot3D with April Tags? Thank you. Great content

That can be a great combo! Have you tried using free cad tools like blender3d to merge scans and floors from polycam?
what is different between polycam room mode vs lidar mode?
