Union in the cabinet,I saw a furnace catch fire like that and almost burn down a brand new home. The only saving grace was that the furnace was running on a small propane fill temporarily and ran out of gas. The genius plumber forgot to tighten the union. Also to hell with York gas furnaces.
Also there could be a problem with the inlet pressure switch or Lp regulator outside. The switch opens @ .06 w.c. and will interrupt signal from the flame sensor to the board.
Nothing wrong with York furnaces. I've installed many since 2008. Barely any repairs needed. The pressure switch is used by a lot of manufacturers. shipped with conversion kit. I find them left in the box with the extra orfices all the time. the switch is intended to shut down when the tank gets low to avoid poor combustion that can result in sooting with propane. I've never removed the gas line to clean the ignitor. Just use the inner shank from your 10-1 and a 5\16" ratchet wrench. Easy Peasy. The burner enclosure is easy to get off. Its not a piece of shit. Fuck that blue pipe dope. Gasoila has been my goto dope for 35 years. Blue shit hardens up, reminds me of Leak Lock. Hate that shit, especially when some dip hit uses it in a refrigeration application. I'd check the gas pressure and do a combustion analysis on it. Things I do on every gas call. Clean the flame sensor and condensate trap. York and other Johnson Control furnaces are the only furnaces that you never have to clean the trap. Gas pressure and combustion analysis.
What a pain in the ass.. least you didn't drop the quarter inch zip screw like I do . Simple fix complicated ... you're right, pos momma... appreciate your videos
In this area (mass) absolutely. The gas burns dirtier than oil here. Of course I'm talking about a properly tuned oil burner not something that someone set up without a combustion analyzer with whatever nozzle they had on hand. My mother's oil furnace from 1969 never has any soot buildup when I clean it, ever.
@@Renville80 Oil heat these days seems to be more of a northeastern state thing. Where i live we do have some oil furnaces here and there, But not like where Steve works though. Gas furnaces and electric/heat pumps are more of a market here.
Every time I have service done on my two units, I mention your channel. You have kept me informed of what I should expect. Thanks.
That switch on the pipe for when gas pressure gets low it shut flame signal off
The mice don’t think much of the pile of York either😂
looks like a rat!
Gonna give me nightmares of the one that cost a fortune to keep running for 14yrs. Dumped it just to get out of constant repair. Like your videos.
Tight spot for sure man. Thanks for the video. Stay safe out there.
Howdy Steve and Miss Molly. Happy New Year❤
best to use steel wool to clean flame sensor

Pile of York with a rotted out coupling box connecting the primary and secondary heat exchanger, I see it all the time!

Pile of york 😂😂
The old York was amazing. What happened to them? I have a York package unit that's over 20 years old and it's still kicking a.
Good job done Steve
What must I do to obtain Smurf jisum?
Nice Fix Steve!
The old Tedd Cook C note 💵
nice job Steve😂😂
I installed the furnace 31 year ago, and I never cleaned the flame sensor,
I’ve never needed to clean one. Maybe environment where installed?
She is purring like a kitten mama.
The yorks that I service need the flame probe cleaned or replaced every year. Don’t know why but they are always awkward spot to get to
I have a York 2 stage. Never had issues with flame sensor. My unit pulls outside air.
Always think about cleaning my flame sensor , but never had . 25 years without a cleaning 😊

Nice work
What units do you recommend?
Bryant?
Apparently they've changed the design. I have a newer York furnace and the flame sensor is much easier to get to OR my tech has the right tool.
Wake up, have some coffee, drop a York…
Steve which Furnace do you recomend? I will write it done in case my mom's 1980 packs it in!
I just had a Lennox put in and ac unit. It’s not bad
Everything is a piece of crap in his eyes
@@RJ42997 better keeep the 45 yr old one going!

I think you’re making a show with the Flame sensor. The burners aren’t alined right.

Hello my good friend. Hope you had a great Christmas… at least better than mine. Back to work brother….
Between the lighting and the tight workspace, I couldn't see a thing. I hope some of you actually saw the video...

I live in the town where York is made. Most people here put rheem or trane in thier hiuses 😂
York barbell and hd
Hello Steve
Something queer going on
Another piece of York 😅
York …. Not a sponsor
I like the union inside of the furnace cabinet...
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again ya’ll. 👍👍. You can see by the design that this unit was not meant for easy maintenance, what a joke.
does propane/NG have more issues than oil? it seems like it.
Absolutely not! No carbon build up

Doubt it. Out here in the northern plains, propane is common in the smaller towns.

Yes they absolutely do.
What a piece of crap. Was that unit made by the Ford Motor corporation ?
What crap design must work for car manufactures do stupid stuff like this. I'll never buy New york lol. Nice job Steve
