Yesssss I'm about to pop this game in again too man! It's cold and snowy where I am so it would be the perfect game to beat again. And hopefully we will get a Complete Remake sooner rather than later (not episodic like FFVII-Remake, but rather, the whole finished game on a PS5 disc)
Always did and will always do that as well. PE music works fine, and some other games as well. Like Shenmue, Tekken 4 and Tag Tournament, Tomb Raider…. it transports you into a different world and that world is by no means imaginary.
We are getting old. Technical limits of our generation spawned some beautiful things... Power of today's hardware let's developers concentrate on beauty and cutting-edge audio-visual quality of graphics and sound, yet less on their actual musical quality (melodies themselves) and visual tricks (old fixed camera).
metalgear696 I feel the same way. Games like this brought back so many good memories. I enjoyed the solitude of just me and my PSX, playing games like this. I missed the era of games being fun and enjoyable as well as killing time. This soundtrack echoes those times. Today, it feels fake to a degree, with streaming and online battle royals. Not many people just sits down and simply enjoy the games they’re playing. So don’t feel bad. I’m in my early 30s and I totally get it. At least we can say we lived in a time where many of the most iconic games of all time spawned during our childhood!
Amazing. I was in Central Park this summer trying to recreate Aya’s footsteps. I still love this game all these years later and I’ll never part with my original black label copy of the game
My mom has some pictures from the Chrysler building, the Empire State, the Twin Towers and Central Park from the one and only time she went to NYC, in 1999. Everytime I see those photos, this song comes to my mind. Feels some what, out of place. I love it
He'll yeah brother. I've been hoping for a remake of this one for at least a decade now 😁 Here's hoping SquareEnix considers it.......if/when the FFVII Remake succeeds and sells well
@@Supremepikachu my bad, it's still not official yet, but it looks like they plan to remake the franchise on ps5, especially after resident evil remake recent success www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-remake-producer-thinks-itd-be-a-waste-to-not-return-to-parasite-eve www.cbr.com/parasite-eve-deserves-ps5-remake/
This, plus the atmosphere of the hospital, plus that one screen overlooking the city with the Chrysler Building looming ominously in the distance. That is Parasite Eve for me. It all comes together.
Missing Perspective is such a gawd damn good name for this song and where it's placed. The police office is like your personal ''home" world and you go back there to figure things out. The feeling like "something is missing here..." and you are trying to figure it out. The search never ends, and it fits to more than just a police theme song. It's the theme of the game. What should be a normal police story world for Aya Brea is now gone thanks to what has happened in the world. It's the feeling of thought. And I love it.
Awesome music and nice background you added, bro. Anyone still playin' it 21 years later? I do, and like the Somnia Memorias says - it brings back memories. :)
Parasite Eve 1 is my favorite of the 2 games (The 3rd Birthday doesn't exist to me at all). This game not only had ambience, the soundtrack is just pure gold, and the NYC locations just perfect. I hope that if a remake is done, that is given justice in the same way as FFVII, and that it keeps the great NYC looks and everything that made this game so good.
They still do. It’s just been turned into a Hollywood style money machine. Triple A games being made with this level of passion is beyond dead unless we vote with our money and stop buying soulless, big budget games. We also need to stop buying remakes and remasters that are just made to profit off nostalgia for good games. We want new experiences
@@nickkerinklio8239, that's true too, but it's hard to resist when you love the game. Take Homeworld franchise for example. I downloaded, bit bought, the remastered pack. 😥
Filip Ranogajec I don’t even buy games anymore unless it’s something new and interesting. I think the last time I bought a new game was Infinifactory about a year ago on PS4. Lately I’ve just been buying used games at thrift stores and garage sales, or buying those Chinese emulator consoles for old GBA games. I got an original Xbox last week and my friends and I have had more fun playing old Halo games with couch co-op/split screen than we’ve had all generation playing mediocre new games
@@nickkerinklio8239, that's OK. You're more of a team player I ses. I'm the lone wolf. Can work in group, but prefer solitude, so, I find that way more comfortable. 😉
When this music sets in I could immediately feel the gravity of the situation at hand... Your colleagues' son is lost, amongst a Central Park infested with mutant horrors. There is no time to waste. It was that good.
Guys.. trust me. We don't want a remake of this game. With the state of Square Enix atm it's almost like they'd screw it up with the direction. SquareSoft made this, not Square Enix.
I apologize for the year late response but given this past year I must disagree. Though past and some remakes are quite … unsavory to say the least, I think lately Square’s been doing pretty well with their upcoming remakes and projects . Looks like square’s finally getting their magic back
Best soundtrack in PE OST. This game really made magic creating these lonely scenarios while playing this music. I'll never forget these beautiful days having fun while driving Special FBI Agent Aya Brea.
I wonder how hard it would be to have a video game based around real locations like this in modern gaming. I feel like you might get in trouble for it.
I got stuck in the Central Park for so long, because it took me forever to realize I could move the cart to get to the zoo key... 🥲 I love this game, but it was terrible at showing what we could or could not interact with. Parasite Eve 2 at least gave us some dialogue for almost everything we checked.

So do I! Excellent comment!

Parasite Eve needs a remake as soon as possible. I've played through it probably 10 times since I was a kid and I'm about to fire it up once again.

I don’t think modern Square Enix could do Parasite Eve justice since it involved a lot of body horror which they seem to shy away from these days

This just started randomly playing in my head, and I had to actually listen to it. This was such a great game.
Such a great track and composer.
