DA Vinci was a master artist but more of a inventor. People make a fuss over the Monalisa a small wall hung painting of a woman with a smile big deal. But the shear size and scope of Michaelangelo's work prove that God had anointed him to be a witness of glory.
You’re wrong! Leonardo was among the top 3 finest painters of ours… Most of his work went lost but what survived is beyond… To mention the Monalisa which is technically perfect but to understand it we need to know about Art history… as the only reference to the master denotes, not offences meant, an ignorance about this matter.
I highly disagree about your thoughts on monalisa. Mona Lisa is an important art piece because not just the subject, but tje background and the use of illusion to create a smirk or a small smile, and how it follows you every angle due to visual illusion because our brains tries to “recorrect” it. which at the time was revolutionary
He called himself not a painter and he didn't want to paint Sistine Chapel, it was a torture to him, but he did a genious work of art. He couldn't say no to that pope, because he had a problem before with him about the tumb he was making and that pope stopped the project. Michelangelo got angry...I don't remember if he fought with that pope or left to Florence or both...
Thank you so much for this video, I had a great time watching it ! I love that you illustrate every subject that you talk about and I have the same opinions as yours 😊 Very well constructed video also. Have a nice day !
I’ve seen Michelangelo’s torture of St.Anthony many times in Ft.Worth, Tx. It’s really amazing to think I would be standing 12” away from where Michelangelo was painting this picture when he was 13. That would have made it in 1488! There really are child prodigies.
The greatest… What parameter can possibly be used to determine the greatest in an artistic field? Art is not a science. It doesn’t work with such a mental approach It doesn’t work like that… Have a look at the “ Cristo velato “…, the Ecstasy of St. Teresa…, the Toro Farnese…, the Laocoont…, Love&Psyco etc etc etc.
Gee, I thought it was Leonardo da Vinci No Vincent van Gogh no Wate Pablo Picasso, Guess it's all a matter of who's telling you or who you ask. Lol. ! More Art World Rhetoric.
No offense meant…, but I invite you to study Art history before pronouncing such externalizations… Leonardo is among the greatest painters of all time. He invented several different painting techniques nowadays thought in every Academy of fine Arts. Some of the few paintings made by him that arrived to us are perfection. Da Vinci overrated???
@@paponeable I graduated with a degree in Art History and I will have to say that I personally put Michelangelo above DaVinci as well but again it is a personal choice (I also majored in Studio Art and went on to do my Masters in Stained Glass so I have a working knowledge of Renaissance artisans and works).

I think da Vinci is the best he added art math and science to his paintings his paintings are such nice details beautiful colors
It's true Michaelangelo he is got a visit in Heaven
It don't make sense they say he would quit alot of projects what made him think Mona Lisa was perfect it's just a portrait of a lady lol
Amazing!!!!!!! I had the opportunity to study in Rome truly incredible!!!!!!! Michelangelo was a gift from God!!!

He certainly gets my vote. He's always been my favorite.

Nine different Pope's man made saints. Today they believe that there word is above God .
Burn all magnets away!!!
Magnets are pure evil to the human body
Honestly it's not even close.
Michelangelo is by far BETTTER THAN DA VINCI NOR RAPHAEL...HES THE ONE AND ONLY

Greatest of all time ? But time has t stopped yet .
I admire michelangelo more than davinci....da vinci is over rated and hes no where near the caliber of michelangelo ...
