Even better than I thought it would be. Brisco and Earl Hebner talking about Montreal! You guys could have charged for this, premium type episode here. Thanks guys!
It's kind of upsetting to hear what Earl and Briscoe had to go through, the stressful and scary times simply because of a possible aftermath from a FANTASY Storyline in a FANTASY Land called Wrestling Entertainment. I know they call it The Montreal Screwjob, but in the real world it never actually happened. Nobody was screwed out of anything, other than Bret Hart screwing himself out of an amicable ending to his WWF career back then. It was Bret "The Hitman" Hart a CHARACTER within the FICTIONAL storyline in the FANTASY LAND of Wrestling Entertainment who got screwed out of a Championship Belt, not Bret Hart. He wasn't screwed out of anything. Bret Hart in the REAL WORLD was leaving for a Multi Million Dollar Deal he had at WCW. You want to talk about being screwed out of something in THE REAL WORLD, then let's talk about how Earl and Dave Hebner were screwed out of their jobs and their livelihood back in 2005 with charges that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon knew were untrue - but never came to their defence. I have absolutely no respect for Bret Hart. He has spent 25 years bitching, moaning, whining and being downright nasty about something that occurred to his CHARACTER in a FICTIONAL Storyline in a FICTIONAL Land called Wrestling Entertainment. Later on, he also returned to the Company and Boss who were negligent at the very least and wholly culpable at worst for the death of his Brother, Owen Hart. No respect!!! Also think on this. When this all happened Bret was FORTY YEARS of AGE and Shawn Michaels was THIRTY TWO - if nothing else, at that point in time, Michaels had EIGHT more years of Wrestling at the top for the Company, unlike Bret who was at the end of his career. Any business man worth his salt will ALWAYS opt for the younger man - and the bonus was, Shawn Michaels was no slouch in the ring either - he could get heat or he could play the babyface, he didn't care which.
It really is a shame that they used Hebner's friendship with Hart to pull such a stunt. Earl really must have been stunned when he went out to the ring.
It’s terrible that Vince McMahon Made Brett Hart who he is and he helped him negotiate the second biggest contract in wrestling history and he wouldn’t listen to Vince. Who cares if it’s Shawn ; it’s entertainment. Look regardless of the hardships he endured without Vince he couldn’t do anything. I don’t want to hear the excuse Hulk Hogan held him down. Hulk proved he’s the man. Brett couldn’t dress better then a hobo. Vince went to Brett because of the steroid case. Brett and Shawn had a real rivalry. He still blames Goldberg. He didn’t do it on purpose. He’s always the victim. I like Brett but I don’t feel sorrow for him. He had Flair, Randy, Sting, Scott Hall, Jeff Jarret, DDP, to work with but he picks Goldberg. Goldberg is WCWS Ultimate Warrior. He knew better.

He needs to be in the hall of fame next year
Loved the interview, good seeing Earl again. It would be cool if you guys could get Tommy Young on here soon. I would love to hear some of his stories
I'm a huge Wrestling Fan for over 30 years now. I love this interview with Earl. Great stories to hear about.

This was phenomenal.
Another great interview!
Wow! This was a huge part of the infamous Montreal Screw job that I don't think has ever been discussed before.
Great interview.
I love JBL. Even since he retired it's like each year I appreciate him a little more. Mad respect to Mr Briscoe too of course.
Now it makes sense why JR called him "Baby Earl"....Dave being older
"You screwed Brisco!"
Legendary ref
Yes!!
The GOAT in refereeing.
Earl was THERE
Fantastic podcast. Heard the Montreal story a million times but never from Briscoe. Whole new perspective.
How do we know this is really Earl and not his evil twin that messed with Hogan in the 80’s? 😁
I just wanted to hear who paid for the plastic surgery 🤣
@@adamspark9259 THEY WERE IDENTICALLLLLL
One of the best angles ever & it was on network television, these writers these days are a joke compared to Vince a couple people and a legal pad
Maybe because Dave died last year.
Dave passed last year
I agree, I've heard enough about Survivor Series '97 and things worked out just fine.
He also ref'd HHH and Steiner, would've been interested to hear his insight
This will be good!
Did Jerry just mention a boy named sue,lol
I like how so many guys denied any knowledge or involvement with the Montreal Screwjob for years.
My hats off to earl and gerry
I remember in Here Comes The Pain taking Hebner's face, putting it on Goldberg's body and creating "HEBNERBERG".

Hogan got screwed out of the WWF title circa 1989 cause of those twin referees and this guy Hebner was one of those refs.
Bret screwed Bret!!
