I see this as Saurfang gave up on the Horde by burning the neckless . He was going back to just being a orc and get his honor death with a Mak`gora ( he took off his armor weapon only to fight ).He gets his hope back for the Horde from this young troll .This hit me hard in the feels .
For sure! Kind of like he was done with the Horde but the Troll showed the Horde wasn't done with him
Not gave up on the horde, just gave up to the "Sylvanas horde", bcause all he believe and fight for its not there anymore... yet, this zappyboy show him the true nature of horde when he says "horde is all we have", all outcast and orphans united by an ideal of honor and comradeship, The Horde. Im saying this from a Alliance player perspective, Night Elf day 1 in TBC times; i regret lost vanilla... but play since Warcraft 2. This is the horde Azeroth needs, this is the horde i like to fight, honorful soldiers, not genocide thugs who clap for a burning tree. Be proud of leaders like Varok Saurfang, master of cleave.
It's nota Mak'ghora, thats a 1v1 honour duel, he just went out there to kill as many as he could and die in the process because he just wanted his glorious death in combat
Uh no, Mak'gora is no armor, Saurfang only removed his shoulder plates, hand armor and chest. Still has most of his armor on. He wasn't going to challenge a Mak'gora. In old Orc culture, the "Old Soldiers" that wanted their honorable death in battle, would do this to make certain they would fall. Yet it gained them even more respect, because they were going to a fight they new they would not walk away from, and were going to take as many enemies with them as possible. That was his intention, until Zappy boi,...aka Zekhan as we now know him, tagged along and kind of showed the old soldier how to continue forward, because the Horde Saurfang believes in is still there, which is why Saurfang gives him the same ritual fist tap he gave his sons body when he talked about him earning his honorable death. Zappy Boi has the same courage his son displayed at the wrath gate, even though he has no experience in battle.
that was really touching. i broke out in tears when zekhan (zappy) showed saurfang that he had saved the necklace for him.
ZappyBoi got Greymane in the Back, Zappyboi brought Saurfang Back.

ahh you're right. I had to go back and watch it lol but the one he smashed did have white hair so yay! Zappy boi might make it after all! lol
Yep its Zappy Boi aka Zekhan. And its confirmed by Blizz he survived Battle of Lordaeron.
As great as this was to see, the icing on the cake is that if you then re-watch the BfA cinematic (which was the upcoming battle here), Zappyboi stayed at Saurfang's side for the entire thing, even zapping Greymane after Saurfang was sliced. A kinship between a meme and a legend was formed this day.

The music you talk about sounds like a perfect cross between Northrend string instruments & Draenor battle horns. So a perfect mix encapsulating the events in Northrend in contrast with the deeply orcish moments
He's been seeking his warrior's death since the 3rd war and after that in Silithus, where he led the entire army, both alliance and horde against the qi'raji, but his bravery, rage and combat prowess made him survive all that and still be alive today. Since in the orc culture seeking a warrior's death does not let you fight weaker in the hope that u somehwat die, he has to fight at his maximum knowledge and force and hope to meet someone that is better in combat. So far he is, as we can see, unlucky :)

Do you think the Horde PVP skills to match that kind of devastation in Teldrassil hypothetically?
She burned thousands of innocent civilians, children alive. She's unredeemable and players will get to kill her at the end of this expansion or the next and saurfang will be the next warchief.

kenaleto why? Garrosh died and Voljin became Warchief. It's the same situation as Sylvanas dying and then Saurfang becoming Warchief. I wasnt comparing Garrosh and Voljin
i for one would be happy af if sylvannas wasnt killed off but instead the horde rose against her,and her cowardly ways.
I doubt Slyvanas will be killed at the end of the expansion.... maybe she will die but it wont be the final boss.... im sure something from the old gods will show up as they are in the shadows (probably orchestrating the events currently happening) even now... It wont be like the end of mists, you can rest assure that blizzard's story telling wont be that cheap and bland.
As a 90 to 95% alliance player and fan I truly hope both Saurfang becomes leader of the horde for the sake of honor and morality, and I hope it is the Horde who strike down the HIGHLY overrated ALWAYS crazy an evil Sylvanas before we do. I think it will make BIFA a better story if the horde itself takes her down.
Even if they could make an online series. Be awesome if they made on for all the history and lore.

This cinematic was yet another love letter from Bliz to the Horde. Story-wise, the Horde has a deep, emotional, moral conundrum to solve while the Alliance has to deal with... um... er.. the Horde. Yeah, that's it. We have to deal with the Horde and whatever Old God droppings left lying around. Alliance is, once again, a background character for the Horde centerpiece.
We'll see how they do. The issue of Tyrande. Malfurion, and Jaina all could present interesting conflict (even if Genn has mellowed out). They could also put particular emphasis on what sort of Alliance this new "hardened" Anduine will create, since he's still REALLY green. Blizzard has also stated that they no longer intend to deal with "Making things Equal between the factions story-wise" anymore, and they will do what they feel is best for the Story as a whole first. The Alliance may have more cohesiveness atm, but we also have more to lose. I could see quite a few ally characters getting the axe.
Its a double edged sword, you say they get the centerpieces all the time but Legion was super alliance heavy and also WE DON'T ALWAYS WANT THESE CENTERPIECES! Can our Warchiefs just not be written out to go crazy or die or leave. Can we have a mellow experience for once? Like Sylvanas has been one of my favorite characters since she was introduced in Warcraft 3 and I've NEVER thought she was good by any stretch but this burning of the tree is like what on any possible earth could ever redeem that and its just something that even for someone who loves her and knows shes not some good guy, came out of the blue just because some dying elf made her mad? We don't want this all the time. Take it Alliance, HAVE IT! We want to be left alone for a while lmao
Once again Blizzard focus on the Horde. And playing the battle for Lorderon make me see this is totally true, the Alliance keep being portrayed as total incompetent and idiots, also we had an pyrrhic victory in Lordaron and got saved twice (one by jaina and the other by Alleria).
If you believe the dying elf caused it, you clearly didn't read the story on the website. Her motivations are crystal clear there.

Horde isnt allowed to have fucking anything. Get this bad ass cinematic (following that pure fucking trash sylvanas video) and anyone who played the beta knows how this ends.

So Blizzard killed Garrosh to made Vol'jin warchief then killed Vol'jin to made Sylvanas warchief then Blizzard is going to kill Sylvanas to make Saurfang warchief. Great potentail wasted and look we are cheering for another Horde civil war and warchief dead in suppose to be Alliance versus Horde expansion. Expansion isn't even started yet but Horde already fighting with each other. Because it is great faction pride to kill your warchief, another civil war. Well, good luck who ever going to play this expansion.
