Good deduction about where the spring goes. If you use an "anglers" loop on both ends of the string you won't need glue. The guys that usually strung these radios back in the day were almost always fishermen and/ or former scouts and very familiar with loop tying. In many places in America (and Canada too) you may have been taught this in grade school. Boy times have certainly changed!
Hi Jim. I have an old radio where the dial string is slipping. Is there a particular spray or sticky lubricant that I can rub on it, that you can recommend to get it moving properly again? Thank you.
Great job Jim. I know you're not much for changing scale strings, but there's a certain guy who could really use a new string so he can tune into reality. The reward is that we might avoid having to deal with yet another Pooptin type. Do you think you are up to the task? All the best from Denmark Pet the cats from me.

I have a theory that the string will only break once the set is finished and reassembled.
I call it String Theory.
