You’re welcome. Take care
I agree
I'm in a walk away lease and looking into buying my first truck (when prices drop). Ditto on that statement. This was GOLDEN!👊🏾💯✔️ Thank you my man. 😉
Love your video and attitude. No cussing and all frank talk.
Thanks man. I appreciate it
About to pick up my first truck in a couple of weeks after I turned in my notice 2 weeks ago as company driver going into the owner operator territory. I watched this video back to back. I appreciate the information brother!
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
@Tyler C
As an owner operator (o/o) or company driver? If the former, they use load boards to find loads. Some will contract on to a mega carrier and pull their loads for a percentage of the load. I work for J.B. Hunt and see a lot of owner operators pulling J.B. loads. If a company driver, just fill out an application, but stay away from Western Express and CR England
Man…God Bless you…Because you are serious about sharing info on getting into your on Business..it’s a Big deal…your heart is real bro.

Thanks Bernard. Just take your time, save a lot of money and keep watching my videos because I’m going to starting talking about making sure your LLC is set up from day one.
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap 10/4 I sure will
What company is it ?
I’m ready to purchase my truck this is very good advice for me thank you
Thank you for this video. I was having a hard time trying to figure out buying or leasing on to a company. I will do exactly what you did lease on to a company at about 72% of the load save more money for the one year then go buy my own truck
You are a good man sir!
Thank you. I appreciate that
Thank you for sharing..🤜🤛
Dropping Knowledge as always my brother. Probably going to lease. I’m sitting on 12 stacks as a company driver but I don’t think that’s enough.
Thanks man. Keep doing your thang. Be patient and keep saving. It’s always better when you save, get the truck you want and have money set aside for emergencies and to be able to pay yourself.

This is damn good info. Appreciate you brother! ✊🏾
I appreciate that bruh
Oh I’m paying attention 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Cool
Man this was a blessing thank you bro I'm looking to get more info before I buy my first truck
I've heard to not buy a truck that has over 500K miles. I've heard that leasing companies usually get rid of trucks once they hit 500-600K miles because thats when they start having major problems.
You can get it as long as an inframe has been done on it. Usually trucks need an inframe at or about 450 to 500 thousand miles. They could be good trucks but most companies don’t want to spend 25k for an inframe
Appreciate The Info! Wish u nothing But Continued Success!!!
Thanks Abdul. I appreciate it
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap No problem

Good video I just subscribed..I work with prime inc I'm in a lease but iv been saving for a house and a semi
This is an awesome video!! Thank You 💯💯
Welcome
Thanks for sharing Bro
Great video I’m listening 👂 I’m definitely thinking of leasing a truck so that I can actually make enough to purchase my own
It worked for me and so many other drivers. The thing is, you just have to be really disciplined to save your money and not spend it. You also have to know your cents per mile so you choose loads that are paying you very well.
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap thank you I definitely will
Great video champ. I’ll have my numbers active by the end of April
I swear I thought he was LaVell Crawford!
that lease info was great!
Ty Sr! N God bless ...
You’re very welcome. Blessings
Well done , bro. I might add , get the maintenance records of the truck so you know what work has been done on it. You may have to contact the previous owner.
They gave them to me right from the computer. Right in front of my face. They couldn’t print them because of credit card and debit card info
Hello Mr Miles! great to see you n keep on Trucking 👊🏼
Will do Fog. Be safe man
Good video man, thanks.. I’m thinking about buying my truck by June if God wants
Right on brother!
Yes sir
I've been a company driver since 030595. But have mad respect for anyone that wants to go(succeeding or fail), the lease /IC /OO, route. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wouldn’t stay lease. I just used it to help me get to the next step
Hey man just seen your video. Don’t have my cdls yet, and will be in the position to drop
50k to 40k on my very first truck
Have work as an underground coal miner for
18 years. It’s way past the time for a change.
I am nervous about how to keep the truck
With a load scheduled, Any tips.
he has a vid about choosing loads.
I would probably drive for a mega carrier first to make sure this is for you. Don’t spend all the money without knowing if you like this. That way, you’ll learn the basics, safety, running etc
What’s up everybody. I’ll be back at answering those comment. Right now I have to wash 🧽 the wife’s truck.
Hey Mr Miles really enjoy & appreciate your videos sir...but I'm in the market of purchasing a truck & start this 0/0 thing. I am approved thru Landstar 2 pull for them but I have heard so many horror stories with these truck dealers & warranties. U stated a email 2 reach out to u but I don't have it nor see it. Thanks alot in advance. 💯
Good
Very Educational
Thanks Vic
Thanks OG!!
Anytime
Great tips bro
Thanks Jermaine
No problem
I thank you for real on this video
You’re welcome bruh. Anytime
Hey do you have anytime to help a young man out fam
Nice
Thank you
Oil cap off checking for blow by... Should there be any pressure or vacuum at the oil fill tube?
Air leaks. Serpentine belt. Tires. Wiper blades? What else my Brother?
There shouldn’t be any pressure and you should see smoke coming out that oil fill hole. Maybe a little. Make sure it shifts smooth, look for oil puddles and coolant stains or drippings, check the drag link to make sure it doesn’t have any play and turn the heat on to make sure you don’t get any fuel smells in the truck
Do you think automatic trucks are a good investment ? I just ran across you videos, I thank you for the information you putting out there . I God be for you who can be against you, nobody.
God brought me here ... thanks 👍 bruh
I took so many notes 😂 I really want you to mentor me 🤷🏽♂️
Cool. Me and my wife was just talking about mentorship yesterday.
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap pls let me know !
I'm surprised you didn't talk about low mileage trucks. Why does it have low miles?
Look like we have a part two video coming. Low mileage trucks aren’t bad but when companies see that trucks are getting close to 450k miles, they opt to sell it because it’s coming close to needing a inframe done. Thanks Rizzo
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap ECM report printouts help. To see how many idle hours to engine has also trucks that have had APU are good.
My point about low mileage trucks, is that often times it was a problem truck. Constantly off the road that's why it has low miles.
@@ThatOneGuy-hp2pb what year of truck are you looking at and the mileage or how old the truck is I'm just trying to get an idea thank you
Thank you for all the information you provide. I wanted to know if a truck and trailer can be financed at the same time through the same Finance Company even if they are being sold through different dealerships? I don't hear any videos about this. I find plenty of videos about financing trucks, but not a truck and a trailer simultaneously.
You’re welcome. As for financing the two together, probably at the same finance company but since they are two different assets, not on the same doc. Also, they will probably have two different interest rates because of their value. You want them separate because having assets creates value in your company. I hope this helps. Be safe
Awesome video
Thanks James. I appreciate it
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap I've learned a lot because I'm about to buy my first truck.
Do it man. What you looking at getting?
@@ClosingTheTruckingGap I was debating on getting a kenworth T680
Ain’t nothing wrong with a T680. Kind of big but if you drove it before then you’re comfortable with it. If not, check it out first. Like I said in the video, look for 1800 ft lbs of torque or better and if it has high miles, only get it if the engine has been rebuilt. Also, get the warranty. I just used my warranty at Peterbilt to get my fuel pump rebuilt. It works and it saved me a lot of money
Still don't know if its better to go company and save up for a truck. Or go the lease route and save up to buy a truck.
It’s totally up to you. Do what makes you comfortable.
💪🏿
Does Giltner have cab cameras in their trucks?. What were the home time options? They have a rider policy? Thank you
They do have cameras but don’t let that bother you. I never had a problem. When I went to sleep at night I just covered it. It’s all good. They do have a rider program. As a lease operator, you just have to let them know when you plan on going home since they book your loads.
Thanks for your youtube. I am planning to purchase a used Freightliner Cascadia 125. Would you please let me know your advice on which one is better to purchase for the OTR of the owner-operator? *2016 Freighliner Cascadia 125 SLP Evolution: Manual, 375,000 miles, $60,000 vs *2017 Freightliner Cascadia 125SLP: Auto, 455,000 miles, $69,000
Stay with the manual, replacement cost for an automatic is $12,000 vs. $1500-$2500 rebuild a manual.
Good Man
Aye big dawg I’m new to the trucking. I was wondering if I could reach out to you and talk about the trucking game
Should you buy a vehicle in California or outside of California and if I go to look for a vehicle in California in California at some of these lots most of them may be have out of state plates already how does that work
Why did you buy your truck in Pennsylvania and not California?
New Sub
Thank you
Great content! I am looking to buy my first truck. I am looking at Peter Built new and use. What are your thoughts? My expenses at home is around $3500 month.
Looking for feedback. I currently work for someone else I. The Pharmacetical industry but want to control or be my own boss.
What do you think about a truck that has a million miles? Overhaul with paperwork?
I wouldn’t do it. If you bought that truck at 500k miles and you’re at a mil and you get it rebuilt, that’s a different story because you know the truck, it’s yours. That truck is going to need a new engine because all the engine tolerances are way off. Keep looking. Like I said in my last video, don’t make this purchase an emotional one. You’ll find what you’re looking for. Be patient
I don't complain about long videos as long as the information is giving me what I want. if you're learning why would you be complaining?
Hey bro im still currently drive as a company right now getting my feet wet, but in the future I would love to work for landstar but since I live in california would that be a problem or would I just need to get my truck from a dealership? I heard you said your from california but I thought california residents cannot do a lease operator because of the AB5 law I would really appreciate your help if you can answer my question thank you so much in advance !!(:

How old can a truck be to lease to Landstar? Blessing to you and your family.
Brotha Miles, how are you doing ? This is brotha Rick. From New J church in San Diego. I
What, Brother Ricky, how are you doing. It’s been too long. Email me at zfrthisthang@gmail.com and I’ll give you my number.
Greetings!
You leased a truck at Glitner Logistics to save up for your own truck and then went to Landstar?
That’s exactly what he said
Yes sir. I wasn’t making enough no where else to take care of the fam and save.
Video saved
Cool 😎
If I have one year of experience, 12k in credit card money available, 40k in savings and a 630 average credit score would you all recommend me saving up more cash or am I ok to purchase a truck, trailer and get my authority?
We in same boat. Keep stacking and try to buy cash don’t get in debt.
@@chokoramoja 💪🏾💪🏾
It’s better to save your cash to the amount and use your credit. The cash part is for emergencies. Get your credit up to where you use less cash. People always saying cash is better but what happens if you run into problems where you use your cash to buy and then another problem comes and now your out of cash.
My woman and I are team drivers for 4 years wanting. To go oo with land star they say the hiring process takes time do you know if we can go through the whole process before we buy a truck or do we need a truck and sit on it in order to get the final go ahead hire from landstar
It takes about 30days for the entire process. I told the person who took me through the hiring process that I was going to purchase my truck and the area I was going to be in. She set me up with orientation and had the stickers and plates mailed to the orientation center. They’ll work with you. Just make sure you have your truck and get checked into the hotel and ready for orientation. You got this. Be safe
🔥
Thanks man
How many miles do you recommend considering on a truck you’re leasing?
What name of leasing company again you went through
I leased on to Giltner Inc out of Jerome, ID.
