Love ling. Some of the best tasting fish. Texas we get them on pipes/rigs.
When I lived in Florida I loved cobia fishin'. In the fall we would run down stone crab trap lines and look for tripletails on the way to the artificial reefs. I had a few days that I caught several cobia in the Gulf off Sarasota. They can get pretty thick on the artificial reefs there.
Just a couple weeks ago I caught the smallest cobia ever, probably under a foot. It bit a 5" Salt Strong Alabama Leprechaun jerk shad with an underspin, a huge bait for a little fish. It was really cool to see and take a picture of. They're awesome fish. Hopefully I'll get dialed in on them next season around the Chesapeake where I live now.
Edit, I usually look in the stomachs if fish I clean. I don't think I've ever cleaned a cobia that didn't have a crab or crabs in the belly. Mostly the tan swimming crabs but blues too I think. It's been a long time but I always remember seeing crabs in cobia tummies. I always caught them with greenbacks, shrimp, pinfish and once I caught one with a 6' live grunt.
Awesome 👏🏻
Another great episode as always! I do have a question for you. Would love a video or at least a comment on your best lures to throw when working around a bunch of dead floating sea grass. The last few times I've fished from Ozella all the way up to Steinhatchee, there has been a ton of it on the flats to the outer islands. Thanks!
I will work on it!
Awesome video what weight leader do you use for cobia
On the inshore variety of cobia off the stingrays just 40lb leader
@@flatsclasschartersthank you since moving from Arkansas to mobile Alabama I have learned a lot from your videos and I'm catching more fish
Awesome feedback appreciate you sharing
Hey C.A, I just bought a Sunfish sailboat that I’m converting into a skiff…as far as marine mat what brand do you recommend to start out with?
I would definitely consider AquaTraction… its tough and very easy to maintain
