My toxic trait is watching diy videos after already attempting the craft! I did great but watching your video was very helpful especially making split! Thank you! 💛
❤️❤️❤️
Very nice video. I have never used clay, much less dry clay, so watching your video was very informative. :)
to paint small pieces you can use a tweezer and dip them in the paint
Somewhere I left a bad review on Crayola clay because the first few pieces fell apart. I had so much of it left so I made beads then they hardened hard. I made things thicker after that and if it seemed to be too dry handling itI put some Vaseline on my fingers. Things came out so much better. So now I'm happy with it 😃
I just tried this clay. Its so easy to get cracking everywhere I will try with your slip technique for sure thanks! Scoring the pieces too. Good ideas
It definitely takes getting use to! Mine still cracks sometimes as well ❤️
I think I get the most cracking when I add too much water in to the clay
@cleogrove9334 Yeah uhhh I didn't use any water so let's just say between you and I there is the right way! Lol
@@melme33 lol clay is too confusing
Excited to try this clay. Loved the video! A lot of really great tips ❤
Totally forgot slips! Thanks!
wow I think this is the the most useful video I've ever watched u just answered my questions thanks💞
This is beyond cute!
Interesting. Hmmm - I might try making something like this. I have a question, though - if this is tic tac toe - how do you know who wins since all the pieces are different colors, shapes, and sizes? Also, I have some old crayola air dry clay that I bought probably 5 -7 years ago and it's actually STILL good - I just went hunting for it after seeing all these air dry clay videos. I was sure it would be a dry rock by now, but I just spritzed it with some water and it's good as new after all this time. I said that to say this - air dry clay can be very rough naturally so with a piece like yours with all those curves - you might want to sand the piece to smooth it out. And with the straight pieces - the tic tac toe part - it probably would have been easier if you assembled that alone so you could get all the pieces nice and straight and let it dry completely then attach it to the base with some or glue. Also, you were rolling your clay out on a wooden table and wood is definitely porous - which means it absorbs moisture. That's part of the reason why your clay was sticking to the table. Next time roll your clay on something plastic or roll it on some parchment paper - the paper won't absorb the water in the clay and the back of the clay will stay much smoother because the plastic or parchment will be smooth. Sorry that your piece broke, but you also learned a great lesson in how to rescue a piece so that was awesome. Hope you make lots more clay things and, like I said, this one looked really interesting and made me want to make one like this. It's a simple game that is easy to take on the go and can have many different designs!
Thanks for the tips! Marshmallows could be X and cereal pieces could be O ❤️
Why is it so long?
I’m making a rectangle type box and there I will have a very tall flat piece for the walls of the box. Do you recommend anything to keep it up straight? Something that could support it but also not damage it in any way?
Hmm 🤔 I try to make the pieces thick, so they’ll stand up. Maybe a toothpick or a piece of foil in the corners. Wish I could I help more! ❤️
how does it dry?
My daughter and I enjoyed your tutorial!! We are both are very very new to this 😀
❤️❤️❤️
is the mix that u made from clay water and glue that u use it for shaping
Just clay and water. I only use glue if it cracked
I love it! Thank you, very helpful.
What is the varnish you’re using?
Liquitex Basics! I think it has an orange label
How clever to use cereal and milk!
I got mine from Walmarts 10 dollars
Maybe wear gloves
😛
