They are older than everyone in the world, they have been around since 1774. I'm old, and old school, when I think of Adidas, it's not Sambas, it's the Superstars with the clam shell toe, Legendary Run DMC, no shoe laces! I still rock them today, faithfully! Most are definitely hype but I do think that the ones that have had some longevity people really like them. Shell toe Adidas is definitely a classic!
