- People disappear every year out in the Canadian wilderness - however, this year is different. This year something is increasing the body count. Jim ('John Schneider') and his research team trek into the Canadian wilderness to study the Canadian Lynx every year. However, this year is different. The Lynx are missing. In fact most of the wildlife is missing; Jim and his team, including his rebellious daughter Emmy (Danielle C. Ryan), seek to find out why. As they conduct their study, something is stalking them. Something not human. Something that no prey can escape...including human prey! While the research team is trying to find out why the lynx have disappeared, the local ranger ('Jason London') is searching for the answer to what is making tourist disappear; even if it the last thing he ever does... and it is.

Because its american movie😅teenagers in america are fighting aliens.transformers robots,asian pacific kaiju,jeepers creepers and so on🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️since when teenagers in usa take over adult roles in movies???
Because this is a not so successful attempt to remake a good 1977 movie.

Mistaken idea that having teens in a movie will bring young viewers into attendance, when they couldn't care less. But the heads of the studios never learn.
This film although fantasy was riveting, great acting and special effects! Worth your time to watch!
Check out David Paulides Missing 411 sometime. He's a ex cop who searches for the missing people.
I'm surprised this didn't win an Oscar. Amazing acting and cinematography. Did Martin Scorsese make this movie? It's a classic.
This actually had a good plot and some believeable scenes...BUT, horrible, horrible SCRIPT!
What milk toast dialog! I would love to watch this same movie (even with the same actors) done with a little sincerity and a few quality conversations (John, this was beneath you). However...it was a fun romp through the snow ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Yes bring the tranq. gun, but leave it in the truck. Such a smart girl. Funny how no one ever checks the gas gauge or tops up the fuel, but the machine keeps running.
and these snow scooters, like the ones in the water, are supposed to stop,when you do not hold on the the - gas - throttle?
and a flare gun a plastic tinker toy from the chewing gum machine?
She remembered the camera. That will help her. I didn't like her from the beginning of the movie.

Are the comments on here that the movie should have won awards sarcastic? I hope so, as this was one of the worst movies I have seen. I only watched to the end in the hopes it would come good but no. No one seemed to care about the people dying, not even their friends! Just soooo bad 🤦♀️

Not a bad movie. Amazing no one found the cops,rangers ,skiers…. ? Huh. Had all that food and wanted raw hamburger and noodles.
They have a lot of movies on here that are inspiring as well.
Unfortunately, this movie wasn't near as believable or as good, as the 1977 version.

Truly underrated
I remember seeing the trailer for this movie on the SyFy Channel and thinking, "Wow, they made a remake of the 1977 classic made-for-TV movie!!" Then I watched it and thought, "Wow, they made a craptacular remake of the 1977 classic made-for-TV movie." Stick with the original, people. It's dated but waaay better than this flick.

First, both these movies should stand alone. Personally, I prefer the 1977 version and this one has it's merits. But to say one is better than the other is too much.

Worst movie I've seen in a very long time. No. I think it is THE worst. Imagine - they claim to have the right to bear arms, and then they defend themselves with a kitchen knife, a flare gun and a tranquiliser gun. Oh, and the father and daughter high five each other just after the hero of the movie dies. Pathetic.

The 1977 version didn't score a lot higher (4.6/3.5 on IMDb) than this crappy "update", but it at least got some things right - For example, less-is-more. The textbook example is Jaws (1975) where the "villain" remains almost unseen until a couple jump-scare moments, and then not much more until the end. Spielberg did it because the roboshark kept malfunctioning, but it's equally effective if your fake monster is less than convincing even during the 2-second shots. Intersperse a few quick shocking reveals with wild reactions of real human fear and it can be very effective. But for F sake don't show an extremely obvious guy in a cheap shag rug suit just standing there saying "grrrr!" it falls flat.
