If you liked the standard MR01, then you will like this new roulette version. Possibly even more. Thumbs up for the brushed top bezel surface, the dust gathering properties of the old one did my nut in. Cheers, Jody
Love the look of Baltic watches, but I'm still not sold on the movements yet. That's going to take time I think.
I think we might see more and more micros using these movements in the future..... 😉
@@JustOneMoreWatch Well I'm off the watch market until about September. Got a preorder I'm waiting on 😉
same
Agreed, I don’t love most of their watches, with the exception of the chrono and the titanium diver.
I’d say a signed crown and a boxed sapphire would fit the vintage vibe without cheapening out, but that’s only one man’s opinion.
Adjusted in 5 positions and it's still 15 seconds fast? Jiminy Christmas.
What does that actually mean anyway?
@@Smartzenegger it means they regulate the movement with the dial up, the dial down, the crown up, the crown down and bottom lugs up to make sure time keeping is precise while the watch moves through different positions throughout the day. That's what they are doing when they are trying to certify watch movements as chronometers, they have to regulate the movements to between -2 and +4 seconds per day in multiple positions.
They are lying,crystal clear.
Sweet jiminy Christmas
I was thinking the same thing, what was it adjusted from!
Vintage doesn't have to be scary! I've gotten three and had them restored as necessary for $220-420 USD total each, so a vintage-style new watch should compete around that range in my opinion. Unless it's going to offer modern specs above that.
That’s a terrific looking watch. I love the vintage look. This one is not quite for me, but I love literally every single one of the their Aquascaphe Line. Thanks as always!
Went to their boutique in Paris last year and picked me up a hermetique.
The boutique is a must to visit if you're a baltic fan who happens to be in paris for a holiday.
I LOVE the Senna shirt!
Great vintage look, its funny how the hands went completely dark on some instances, they sure don't advertise that on their website. Nice review, as always, thanks!
This in a 38.5mm case with sapphire would be killer.
If it’s going to the trouble of featuring a micro-rotor I would expect it to be a bit thinner - 9mm or perhaps even a little less.
Thanks for the review Jody. I'm quite tempted by the salmon dial version. Love the look of the movement and the view from that exhibition case back. I'm not super concerned about legibility, and I think that price for decent quality well-designed automatic watch with a microrotor movement (even if it's not Swiss or Japanese) actually seems reasonable. However, I don't think it would destroy the vintage aesthetic for me if it came with sapphire.
Love you Jody , thank you for awesome content , you’ve inspired me to make my own content about watches ! Which happens to be my biggest passion in life !
Thanks for watching the channel Raymond and good luck with yours!
Not for me but I do appreciate the review.
I personally prefer the breguet numerals, but certainly a looker!
I was thinking today how Jody used to sometimes sell his review models on eBay, and wondered why he didn’t call it JOMWshop. 😎
Another reviewer reviewed the silver dial model. He said that legibility was much better on that dial because of the contrast between the matt dial and the polished hands. Those looking for a watch that they can read the time with might want to consider that option.
Another killer piece!🎉
MR 01 is still class for the Roulette!
Baltic is the Seiko of microbrands. Their specs are low, price is on the high side but they have a loyal fan base! Sapphire should be a must at this price let’s be honest it wouldn’t really distract from the vintage styling they aren’t going for! More of an excuse to save some cash. Do generally like their designs though
I'd love to get a watch with the Hangzhou 5000A in it, and unlike the other watches available with it, I actually like the Baltics... But I hate acrylic! I'll wait for something with sapphire.
I'm disappointed they don't have this in any more "outlandish" colors, and especially not a roulette wheel red and black color scheme. Anyway, another great review Jody! Thanks for all you do. I think you might actually be my favorite UA-cam channel these days...
I so wish they did this in a 38-39mm, I know it's vintage in style and sizing but I think it would look daft on my 7.5 inch wrist! I feel the 20mm lugs also don't help in making it feel/look teeny, good looking wee piece but unfortunately can't work for me
I’ve seen legible 32mm women’s watches. But they have very simple white or silver/MOP dials.
Love Baltics designs but a bit higher in price.
Great review & while being a micro rotor I don't think the price relates to the sum of parts in this watch . Production cost in china for this movement wouldn't be much more than a segull automatic & yet it's twice the price & with lower spec . Cheers
Not sure I agree that this is that cheap - would expect something better than +15 secs for a hesalite watch with a chinese movement you can get from a Lobini for a lot cheaper.
I like the look and being lightweight. But it's near 600 or a little over US dollars. I did not see if there was a shipping cost or not to the USA. I do think you can get a micro-rotor watch that is a Chinese aliexpress watch for less. Jody bought one but I don't remember the cost. a. Jody bought one but I don't remember the cost.
I do both…vintage and a Baltic!
Don’t get the lack of sapphire. Lobini roulette coming next?
Nice review, i thought I would like it more than i do but nice to see the Hangzhou movement making an appearsnce
Like the look except for the asymmetric second hand subdial. Would prefer it centered and smaller. That's just me...

nice shirt, Senna was the greatest, here in Brazil he is a hero
I dont understand people who complain about noisy auto movements I think its part of the charm
That movement looks lovely though.
I've never been sold on Baltic to be honest. This is a nice one though not crazy about the movement.
I love the style but with my 7.5 inch wrist it would disappear, good review as usual Jody.
Not that they are too comparable, but I would much rather buy two or three different Bambinos than one single Baltic for the price, 100% of the time.
This watch could be for me if it had sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystals are just as beautiful. In reality I would not wear it. I know I could buff out scratches but I choose to wear watches where I don't have worry about that.
For those of you that don't know, July 14th is a HUGE national holiday in France. That's when the new Peugeot cars come out.
Fine vid Jody. Thanks
600,-€ buys you a very nice vintage watch with lots of money left for an overhaul!
Step away from the big well known brands and buy below 100,-€. You will find beautiful watches with great specs for it.
I collect one brand which is called Bifora - this once was the biggest watch manufacturer from Germany with a great history and a lot of firsts…
1. German watch movement with anchor escapement
1. German automatic movement
1. German automatic ladies watch
Very interesting but difficult to repair electronic and quarz movements in their last years…
This great brand is totally forgotten, but it has still the possibility to repair and overhaul their mechanical movements in their factory!!!!
Vintage hasn’t to be expensive to wear a great brand with lots of history and it isn’t a minefield when you calculate the repair in your buying price…
The minefield begins when you want to flip watches - their you lose money like with this new watches…
I thought these watches were Hot, but turns out they’re Baltic 😂
or get the militado small seconds quartz
Where can we buy the watches you sell??
Tbh I like the original better, the clean dial is what made it so classy to me, and I think this one looks a little messy. But that’s just my opinion.
July 4th was the date of the elections this year in France. A pretty significant date for those who detest Macron... meaning every French person.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MaMaCoo 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Gotta be honest, all the shade that watch reviewers lay on genuine vintage watches (the problems? risks?) is unjustified. Give me a 60-80 year old Hamilton/Omega/Bulova/etc. that has been recently serviced any day over a contemporary Chinese made movement in terms of reliability and authentic mid-century styling. I've got a bunch of them (as well as quartz from the 70's) and would take them over this and its ilk any day.
I agree. Of course it’s risky if you buy from a risky buyer. Which is the same for new watches. But there are plenty of sellers (and shops) that service and guarantee their vintage watches. I have bought a lot of new watches and a lot of vintage watches and I have yet to encounter one that doesn’t work. Cheers.
Nice ❤
Love the watch
Two things put me off buying what otherwise is a very nice watch: Size, 36mm for me is just far to small, if they did that is a 40m....much better. That small second, never a fan and I really dislike this one. This watch would look so much better with a conventional second hand.
1:51 well remember Jodie, we did save America's ass.
Not Sapphire,.? No thanks. The micro rotor is very cool.
Maybe I missed it, but the Hangzouh 5000a doesn’t hack or does it?
I would like to see a watch with a dial akin to Big Ben or St Basil cathedral.
Yes
It's looking nice from a distance, would not buy. 36 mm and movement - I think are difficult points to mitigate. They have better watches.
So-so accuracy : you should only check watches first reviewed by Peter Kosta.
All the affordable models presented on his channel have « a buttery smooth latching experience » (ok, not applicable here), « great movement accuracy » even with entry level calibers, « incredible finishing » and « wear fantastically » on any 7 inch wrist.
One wonders why Blancpain, Rolex, Omega, Breitling… even bother manufacturing watches 😂
15 seconds a day? Sheesh, how many positions do you need just to match an 4R/NH with lazy regulation? 🤷♂️
i know baltic said that the blue dial variation is not the same as the ACM limited edition version but that looks way too similar and its kind of a slap in the face to the current owners of the ACM versions
Did I hear you're putting out a smaller erebus origin? 😊
I expected to see green, red and black for a Roulette watch... and I still do expect just that... but I'm not seeing it here.
Nice of Baltic to scr*w over the ones who bought the ”collected man” LE with that blue dial version.
Other than that i like this release. Wont buy any but they seems nice.
The brushed bezel looks cheap. Should be polished.
acrylic crystal? pass
Nice watches, but way overpriced. It is a Chinese watch, so why not buy those directly in China, at the fraction of price.
I love these watches but have an 8inch wrist😭😭
this one doesn't quite do it for me
dial is very busy for a smaller diameter, which doesn't help the dressy kind of legibility, makes it hard to appreciate what the dial actually says with so many contrasting lines everywhere
and sorry to disagree, but, 20mm lug width on a 36mm dress watch is too big. kind of like the business of the dial, it makes the face of the dial stand out less. 20mm is better for the sportier gada style watches
Why are micro rotors so expensive to make?
Looking for a birth year watch 1971 any recommendations please something in a gada or dress .
Size and dial legibility look great. There must be some way to balance the legibility of the hands... (a white lume strip in the hand can be done well and dates back to at least the 1950's, see Nivada Grenchen). And not looking to send money into the China-Russia-North-Korea inhumanity disaster...
Where is the spinning hand like Franck Muller
nice watch do like it but 5 positions and its still 15 seconds fast? no thanks cheers
Do You Feel Lucky? So, do you? Punk.
Ever since I bought a watch from amzwatch , My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?
I will never get over chinese movement watches costing in excess of $300USD. It's a sub-$100 movement with an acrylic crystal.
Is main part from China?
Needs, dare I say requires a sapphire crystal.
Nice watch. I like vintage. I don't care for new watches with hesalite. What I don't get Jody is the "rotor noise?".
Does this actually bother someone....anyone. My only vintage watch that I can actually sometimes hear the rotor has a Felsa 4000 movement from 1960. I can't imagine anyone around me could hear it. That one continually puzzles me from YT reviewers. Anyway, I wouldn't buy this one.
If I can’t gamble with it anytime I’m not buying it
Mr. Roulette
Really don't believe that the movement is adjusted to 5 positions. Still not a believed in Chinese movements. You get what you pay for
A watch manufacturer shouldn’t be reviewing any watches but his own. This used to be my favorite watch channel.
I don't understand. Are you saying that I now cannot review other watches because I have a brand? I disagree. Clearly!
@ I wasn’t expecting a response and appreciate your opinion. It’s not for me to decide what you should or shouldn’t do with your channel.
I’ve been enjoying your reviews for quite some time but something feels off to me . I can’t see a principal of Laco reviewing a Stowa or Sinn pilot watch. Your brand is highly regarded and to me seems a conflict of interest when a manufacturer is a reviewer. Just my opinion and probably most would disagree.
What's going on with the C in BALTIC ???
I would rather see a 9 series Miyota for 150-200 USD more a little bit thicker.....
no I don’t😔
Can anyone please suggest me a pagani design watch i have a small wrist
Kurono eats Baltic alive, in quality and price $$$$.
Inb4 overpriced complaints. Don't even try I heard it a million times before. 😂
They are a great option when you are done with the Seikos and Citizens
Love Baltic watches, hate the C in their logo.
Great review, but Baltic just not for me. I don't find them retro in any sense of the word and the asymmetry to my eyes is plain ugly. We all have our own tastes.
Hesalite crystal, cheap Chinese noisy movement, printed dial, +15 secs for EUR545? Nah, not even close. Sorry
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of MaMaCoo 's watch 99% of people will never see.
The case is marginally different in execution, being brushed instead of polished. And considering how dirty my wife's salmon MR01 in front of me is, sounds like a good choice!
Edit: I should probably finish the video before commenting!
Thanks guys, this is great advice. I has settled on a 6.5cm for my first rifle and then I found out it was a 6 to 12mth wait wirh Lithgow so I went for .308 and have never regretted it. I have enjoyed learning the characteristics of the round and how to find an acceptable group at ended distances, and also appreciate the cheaper ammo and versatility of the round for hunting pig, deer and goats.
Good looking watch, but generally zero interest in Baltic since their watches are too small for my large wrist.
Thats ok though, plenty of other watches out there.
Sorry just can’t force myself to buy a French watch with a Chinese movement.
Don't get Baltic at all. Dull case, hideous dial and the only USP is the micro rotor movement available on Chinese watches in the $100-$200 range. But of course we have French QC and customer service which is world-renowned for its Gallic shrugs. My dislike of this brand won't stop the scalpers punting them out for 3x RRP to the credulous on Chrono24 within a week of release. Got to love the watch grift.
36 mm - a girl's watch.
Meh… 🥱
