Grain feed for the fat is nice. Bison for the flavors is amazing. The grass feed is what my wife loves as it is more lean. And waygu is great for special occasions. Love the content keep it coming. Your video's reminded me of the time I spent and stories that were told by my grandpa. He was a butcher for 38 years and passed on his traditions to me and now I get to pass them down to my children. ❤
Really well done video as always. Doing long scenes like these in a single take without editing tells me all I need to know about your dedication and knowledge of your craft. Thank you for taking the responsibility of sustainably raising and harvesting these great animals seriously.
For me, it's grain fed, hands down. I prefer Herefords. I've been eating them, raised by my wife's uncle, from our corn and his hay, for the last 15 years. In my opinion, best beef I've ever had. A little more marbling than the grain fed you guys cut in the video. He just keeps grain available to them 24/7. They pasture a lot and also have baled hay 24/7. They're the calmest beef cattle I've ever seen. Just watching them graze on pasture will make you hungry. It makes me want to raise them myself. Someday maybe
I would be thankful for any of the choices!
Thank you for the video, and education.
Thank you for sharing this video! And I appreciate you guys for sharing with us and I'm truly grateful for this channel! May you and your family continue to be Blessed ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Love your videos, been watching since the pandemic and will continue to watch them when they come out... thanks for educating us on the world of butchering!
I'm in the foodservice distribution industry. I've eaten bison, grass & grain fed beef, but I have yet to enjoy a wagyu steak. That is certainly on my bucket list 🥩🦬🐃
Once again, great vid. I have missed you recently, glad to hear you are still making great vids
Another fantastic video. Love you guys.
Impressive Video, keep up the good work guys
I love y’all’s videos. I learn so much. Grew up in Texas and have been smoking meat, and grilling steaks for 50 years. Have yall ever tried Chianina beef? It’s an Italian beef, very large. I had some, prime grade and it was unreal good. I ordered a full rib subprimal and it weighed 25 pounds. This one was not prime, but the flavor was still phenomenal. It’s noticeably different than our American beef.
Great content guys. I really enjoy your videos. Just wondering how the live weight to dressed weight compares with each of these four choices. Thanks guys
I love the grain fed as a regular. But wouldn't mind a little wagyu periodically.
Love your content.
I want to say that you are amazing, I understand a lot more after watching your videos, thank you so much
Finally not a short!
Great video, guys!
Great video, like the music! I didn't eat any beef for 24 years, am 58 now, just started back 10 days ago. So far have made 4 trips to 3 different Outback Steak Houses for 2 filet mignon, a sirloin, and a ribeye all with whatever seasonings they use and slathered in way too much A1 Sauce. I had 2 choice grade 6 oz filets at home, and went to 1 other steak house where they put a cross pattern in the filet but it tasted burnt some which I don't like. Lastly, today at home I rustled up a .58 lb (9.1 oz) Grass Fed Prime Grade Filet Mignon without any sauce and only some salt and a light rub...OH MY, wow, its was absolutely the best so far!! Been of fan of the Bearded Butchers for about 6 months, you guys are awesome. My great grandfather was a butcher, Henry, great big guy, gentle giant, never met him, he and his wife Oscar had my grandmother Lucille in 1911. Congrats on your success, had spine surgery 4 weeks ago through the VA, its been tough, but I've had a great life and will keep enjoying it!!! Semper Fi to all vets!!
grass feed for sure!!!!! love all your content thank you so much
Congrats Perkins love all your content and wagyu for sure!!
Great video! Thanks!
Outstanding comparison, keep up the great work guys!
Very nice video, excellent information. I have raised yaks for 12 years and sold yak meat as a business for several years. It would be really neat to see a yak comparison like this. I will have to ask my butcher with the next yak that goes to freezer camp. Thanks for the great videos!
If I could I would do the Bison. Traditional meat and nothing like good flavor. As a hunter I like deer, elk, antelope as well, and I have your spices on the way to try it on my venison. Thank you for all the awesome videos, they have helped me to break my animals down in the field better.
Antelope is absolutely delish! Similar to lamb but without that “lamb” flavor
sweet video man keep it up!!
Very nice presentation
Great videos guys , very informative, I've learned a lot from watching you all . My take on the best would be the grain fed due to the fact that that's what we have most around here. I live in mid to north Missouri.
Do not forget Charles Goodnight and his wife Mary Ann. They were very important in the preserving of the buffalo.
I'm from western Ohio and have a trip planned in next few weeks to visit your establishment. I can't wait!!! I'm bringing a cooler!!! My plan if it is all available is to buy one of each of the different ribeyes for comparison . Also plan on buying a mix of Bison cuts . I have always enjoyed the hump braised like potroast.
Grass fed and finished for me.
I prefer the extra nutrients and omega 3’s it offers
Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Looking forward to coming to your store. I live down near Willard.
Great presentation
great video guys! thank you for sharing your expertise and knowledge with us. team BISON all the way.
wow great video
Been subbed for awhile and love the content. I’d prefer the bison then wuygu then grain feed then grass. One of these days I’ll stop down I don’t believe I live that far away from your shop. Enjoy!!
Here in new Zealand it's pretty much all grass feed with some grain feed for finishing or during high summer droughts. There is also some bison but only a very small amount
Great video! Bison then grass fed!
Interesting video i enjoyed the lesson.
I would like to try the Bison, then Wagyu. Great comparison guys!
This is an awesome video!
It is very cool
Thank you?
Hands down I’ve never had better than ‘’BISON”!!! I’ve never experienced a better cut of beef than bison. Keep up the great work guys and I’ll see you on the screen!
Bison, when I can get it. Used to bring some back, on dry ice, from So.Dakota when coming back from the Sturgis M/C Rally. Bought it from a local butcher shop in Rapid City. Can now get it locally from time to time. Venison is my main red meat diet. Taken from my back yard every year. Special occasion on the charcoal grill is grain fed, Memorial Day, 4th of July. But Bison is my first choice of what your cutting. I wish your shop was closer. I live in S.W. Lower Michigan, Berrien County.
going to try bison and grass fed, thanks for the video!
that was fantastic!!! Need to order more spices :)
Great suff guys. Have been a butcher for 42 years in the uk . We cut between 10and the 11 th rib here .I think i would go for the bison having never tried it. Cheers Dave 👍
Love y’all coming from Cleveland Ohio and I just saw Seth get robbed on that butcher show… I saw mad as hell
That was a PhD level dissertation. Great presentation. Thank you.
Congrats guys!
I would love to watch yall do a big brahma bull
Love the content ,Brother's
Thabk your for existing
I'm not a Bucher but I learn alot from you thanks 😊
Any chance on a beef offal video? Particularly a beef cheek cut and cook?
I would like to try one of each.
Thank you for an outstanding presentation! First choice: bison, then grass-fed, then the Tajima Wagyu. Grain is a last choice, I do not eat grains.
I’d like to know your opinion on beefalo, bison/beef cross.
Have to go with a Prime grain fed for my #1 choice as I can't afford the Wagyu. Great comparison video.
I have tried all 4 rib eyes. Our local upscale restaurent had a special on bison rib eye an it was a little tougher and had less flavor. I went there about a month ago and they had wagyu rib eye on the menu. It came from Snake River farms in Oregon. I really could't tell the difference from grain fed beef. Some of that may be in the preperation. They came from the same kitchen so they should have been seasoned the same. The Bison farm near me is sold out a year in advanve so not readily available and expensive. All in all comparing the taste to price i'm sticking with the grain fed beef. You guys are putting together some great content and i wish you were closer so I could try your products. You ever think about moving to Oregon ( ha,ha) or selling meat online?
Seriously boys, I'll take all of the above.......just awesome
You all do do many shorts I miss these. I fed my family 100% grass fed. It is the healthiest and best tasting to me.
interesting 👍
Hey. Got a video idea for you. How do you cut the Argentinian cut called vacio?
I would like to try all of them to taste and see the texture difference. I’m sure the one with less marbling will be tougher but still good
Nice 😊 mate!!!🤠🤙🤙💯💯👌👌👍💪
Wow. Such good info and history. I would love to try a steak from each.
You deserve the subscribers, really informative video. I didn't expect the American Wagyu to be so impressive. I haven't tried buffalo or Wagyu. So, it is grass or grain. I prefer Grass fed as it seems more natural. I do remember the Steak in the USA was more marbled than it is now. I have been abroad for 35 yrs, I was disappointed with the steaks on my return. The steaks in the UK have no marbling as they are slaughtered quite young due to mad cow disease. Has the US moved to an early slaughter to maximise profits?
If I could, growing up in North Dakota, My family routinely had access to Bison! I love it and miss it a great deal! Today it's hard to find (except Bison Burger, Which I buy) steak, roast and Tenderloins are way outside what I can afford If you can find them)! So, I would take the Bison, Every day and twice on Sundays!
Wagyu steak for me. Great video, you earned my like and subscribe.
God bless you and God bless America!!!
That Bison was lookin pretty darn good!!!😋🥩
Grass fed, 6-7 week dry aged. Perfection. But all the animals you showed today are great eating.
Can you do a video on the different types of Cervidea. ( deer, moose, caribou and elk)
That weird music at the beginning startled my cat out of a snory nap.
I have been waiting a month for a new video! I need to see meat cut! lol
Bison , is my favorite ❤️ 😮
The picture of that mound of bison skulls was crazy.
I want to try the Wygu
Best beef we ever had was from a guy I worked with. Grass fed, pastured, and grain finished. Butchered young, but beef, not veal. Tender and great flavor. Only the finest restaurants had better steaks.
He had to sell the family farm because his siblings wanted their share in cash. He couldn't afford to buy them out. At least the farm stayed a farm (a dairy farm, now) and isn't a housing development.
What a shame. Whitefeather is a treat, and a 45-minute ride each way...
👌💯. Great idea for a nice lesson. .
Bison hangs for 7 days and beef 14 days? Any specific/scientific reasons or just arbitrary?
Wagyu every once in a while is not a bad idea.
Oh thats making me hungry and I can imagine the scent of that room from my youth, absolutely nothing like it.
My favorite is first and foremost the BISON, second is the grass finished beef, then the grain finished and surprisingly the wagyu .
Would love to eat either Waygu or grain fed beef.
Have never eaten Bison .. so, would be prepared to try it.
Awesome
I'll take the grass fed. Love the balance of all the omegas and other benefits. It's what the animal was meant to eat!
All the beef ive ever had has been commercial beef from the chain grocery stores. I would love to try the grassfed, and the bison! But in my area, I have no sources that i know of... (Md./east coast.)
I've had them all but to be honest there is an elk farm near me, and that meat is simply amazing.
What is the height of your meat rail ?
Maximum Bison Please!
Grain fed all the way! I feed 2 steers out each year...Black Baldies. On full feed and access to a round bale 24/7 so I know exactly what they have eaten...no growth hormones etc. Just took them a couple of weeks ago...the largest was 877 hanging. Some of the best steaks you will find!
Bison, of course.
Wagyu expensive but for one awesome dinner, the taste and smell priceless!!!!
What about the older breeds like the longhorn?
I have always preferred Bison...
Bison, definitely. Lean & sweet is neat! Grain fed is fine too.
All of them!
Why don't you guys do Longhorn beef? Lately I have been eating Wagyu steak but I've had them all
What an education about Bovine. If I could get to your store, I'd eat any you put in front of me!
What is the cost difference between carcasses and why
I would love to have some of each type. I don't think I have had the Wagyu beef before. I grew up on both grass and grain fed beef. The Buffalo was a hamburger. So personally I would love to have bison, wagyu, grain and grass fed to try out and feed guests.
Grass fed has more intense beefy flavor and can be pretty tender as well, but it really depends on the farm. I have tried five different farms each with very different flavor and fattiness.
Do y’all ship from your butcher shop ?
They don’t ship meat. They ship anything on their website bearded butchers
