What was the best and worst thing from GT7?
Best: Free Content and Swaps / Worst: Stuck in time on physics, Hud options, track feel and tires operating Pressures and Tempº missing / onboard view settings/ car Chrono with track times like on sport missing / That PD does not listen to the Global supports . For me Its a hate love relationship where the last years are full of dissapointments and not one good surprise ....i do believe its a game made since ever for a JDM niche that likes the overall dumbness of many aspects of the entire build, i play it a lot but if in need of racing adrenaline, and simulation this is not the game. ps: Podias fazer review ao estado actual do Raceroom?

Polyphony being able to contact world famous car designers and constructers to get their opinion about the cars they created is definitely not fart sniffing. Those are often information that you won’t be able to get anywhere else and listening what the designers actually think about their creations is definitely interesting. Calling it fart sniffing is just ignorant, sorry man.
VR support is the best part of GT7 by far.
Biggest thing to happen to GT7 is VR support and yet there is no mention of it in this video.
Sadly VR support doesn't effect many owners of the game, including those with original PSVR headsets (correct be if I'm wrong, im not too sure abt that ^).
Not something polyphony can fix, but oh well :L

+1 VR in sim racing is a game changer, and PSVR2 + GT7 has made that more accessible (although admittedly it's still not precisely cheap).
But most people watching UA-cam videos don't realize it because content creators keep using screens (due to the fact that VR is not a good fit for content creation).
100% agree.. I literally built a rig around GT7 PSVR2 as I didn’t have room for a screen. Literal game changer!
GT7 VR is amazing! I don't understand how anybody can talk about the game without mentioning it.
A fair summary though perhaps a little negative overall. Thing is, gt7 is still - after 2 years - ahead of most of the rest in breadth, depth and scope, plus graphics and even rainy weather. It's not the best in much, but it's decent at pretty much everything IMHO, and very polished... But most of all it's a lot of fun and there's space to grow.
I really hope they're about to launch a £20 dlc with a bunch of new stuff, but i do wonder if it's in maintenance mode now. Polyphony are a big studio with a LOT of cash and it must sell a lot of PlayStations, so perhaps gt8 is nearer then we think. Trying to second guess Kaz is a fools game, though 😅
Technically it’s one of the best indeed, however PD honestly could’ve done a lot better with its career mode
Gt7 is still a good game in my eyes, the only thing lacking for me is better single player, the updates so far this year has been small but they could do something big for this month or when ps5 pro drops i dont think the support ending until maybe mid 2025 with gt8 reveal
I actually liked the progression, what I found in previous GT's is that I would end up getting soft locked a lot by being forced to drive certain cars because the credit payout was so low. I never really felt like I could truly have fun and experience a lot of cars until mid-late game because I was just stuck in shitboxes.
Here though getting all cars might be a bit easy, but it provides decent variety at a good pace that I didn't feel stuck. It might be because I'm a lot more casual with my game playing these days so it felt really nice to have this progression.
I just got started on this with the dd+, and having never used a wheel with any Gran Turismo, and was surprised how good it felt. Even coming from mostly pc sim racing! I'm hooked!
Really disappointed that they haven't done basic improvements to VR like the UI
You call it fartsniffing, I call it a fun trip through the history of motorsport. It's designed more linear of course as well, that much is true, but the way you are constantly collecting new cars for almost ever race in the menu books makes the collecting aspect feel like far less of a grind and more deliberate. The only weakness there being that everyone is going to end up with a similar garage by the end of the main content. No mention of VR is a missed opportunity here as well.
A very negative review overall that doesn't give the game nearly enough credit for it's accessibility. If anyone is fartsniffing it's the attitude of the hardcore racing game sim guys who want a continual barrier to entry for people new to motorsport sims.
The Sim racing community be turning into the FGC at times lol.

I boycotted GT7 at release, still have zero interest in buying it. I never get sick of playing Gran Turismo 4 though.
Gt4 was a great game, the single player no progresion is unmatched, that part is not that good in gt7 everything else gt7 trumps any previous gt game at
There's rumours Sony is porting some games like GT7 to PC so maybe thats why they seemed to slow down in content delivery?

I’m trying to find the best wheelbase and foot peddles combo for pc and ps maybe even Xbox as well since I’ll casually play forza. I really want to try the vr on gt7. Anyway I would appreciate some recommendations thanks!
Recently I bought used Tgt-II base for 250$ and it's great for the price. T300 was nice but overheating issues on Gt7 were annoying. I've already had additional wheels, shifter and pedals so I wanted to stay with this ecosystem. For Ps5 I think that used Tgt-II base, T3PM pedals and any thrustmaster wheel you like will be more than great for casual playing and Will not destroy your bank account ;)
If you don't want the hassle of having multiple set ups(that's a lot of money) and simply want to have 1 set up able to work with all 3 main platforms I can recommend you FANATEC, buy a Playstation wheel base compatible combined with an Xbox steering wheel compatible and any of their pedals and done there's your FANATEC combo set up that you can use for all 3 platforms...that's what I did and have 0 regrets.

Agreed with the drifting, GT Sport, you can feel the car. In 7 to me, it becomes floaty in front and feels like it loses contact with the wheel (T300). VR is the game changer like everyone says, but only for PS5. Those of us with PS4 and PSVR for GT Sport got cut out of the equation for a 1000.00 pay wall for at times the only game that we actually do play. Personally, I'd be happy if it was like GT Sport with single-player time trials. It's a cool game, but not the excitement of wanting to drive like the former titles of the series. But that's just me.

I think it's the other way around: he's got too much control and nobody can check his bad ideas. There is no way the UI/UX of this game is the product of someone well versed in such things. It feels like the product of the vision of an unchecked ego.

It means the current physics package creates a meta that has TC0 in places, not everywhere. In releases prior to the 1.9, there were cars like the Aston and BMW running max tc2.
99.9% of acc drivers will run with TC

Penalty system is the worst part of GT7. Ghosting is also very random and can't be relied upon.
Gran Turismo 7 is still better than the disaster that was Forza Motorsport 2023, but it's still not the best Gran Turismo game by a long shot.
Yeah, RIP Forza. In my opinion Gran Turismo 6 was the best in the series and GT Sport was peak online. I wish for GT7 to blend both the older games and GT sport together in unison someday.
Both GT and Forza peaked at 4. How sad. At least with GT it was a gradual decline, Forza nosedived so hard after Forza 4. It's almost like the Xbox One killed the series or something.
Gt7 is not a bad game just a bit wasted pontential specially for single player, in many other ways gt7 is an improvment to all previous titles where it fails is the progression and single player but everything else is better in gt7

Could not agree more about single player. I still play GT7 almost every day for the fun aspect but the single player campaign, or rather lack of it, is pure garbage. The car classes are pure fantasy. What is GR.3 or GR.4? Definitely not the same as GT3 or GT4. Why GR.1 allows for for previous century cars to race competitively with LMP1 or LMH cars? Where are proper championships. I still cannot believe that no game came close to single player campaign to Project Cars 1. Even PC2 is doing it worse. PC1 is the only game simulating a racing driver career in a way that I want to participate in it, PC2 is close but I loved the calendar progression in PC1. Gran Turismo series as a whole, and I played all from GT1, was always a lackluster when it comes to single player progression.
No hate, just debate. As a player from GT1 to now, I'm not sure why GT7 gets the hate. I don't think people understand how far GT has come. In between GTs, we have always had random prologue-type games. GT Sport almost made me lose hope for GT, but then I realized what they were doing: they were perfecting online racing. I understood it was just another type of prologue while we wait for GT7.
Now, what I want you to take into consideration is that GT7 has given the most updates for free, and also nothing is locked behind a paywall, unlike any other game on the market. GT7 offers 1:1 cars when it comes to models and details. We also get photorealistic graphics and the best vinyl editors in class. When it comes to the grind part of GT, I don't think people understand that this has always made GT fun. GT has always made you grind for cars, just as in GT1, 2, 3, and so on, just like GT7. GT7 just added microtransactions, but the grind has always been the same. I know some of us don't have time to play the game to grind it out, but you can easily make enough money. The point is when you want to buy or save for a car, it makes you really decide what car you want to buy, and it gives you satisfaction when buying the car.
Why is it when we play games like NFS or Horizon, or even other games such as Forza, you can spend one hour in gameplay and buy the best cars on the market? This is the problem with modern-day car games; everything is handed to you, and to me, that makes the game boring, and I don't go back to them. Whereas in GT, you enjoy getting another car collected, and you have a sense of earning it, just like back in the day. The game was practically how it has always been; it did go back to its roots but missed a few things. Doing the licenses and finally getting all gold and the last S licenses was one of the best races I have done. The dynamic weather is amazing, and it felt so good to get all gold.
Now, what you need to understand about Kaz is that this is his baby. This is not about a game just for gamers; this is about the gamers and car enthusiasts. While you say all this info about the cars is boring and all the history of every car is boring, to me, a lover of cars, I appreciate the effort and really enjoy this aspect. It's a car game built out of love and passion for cars and motorsport. The game is filled with the most content in any car game out there. I don't get what more you want. Name a game that has this level of detail in the track cars community and features all at the top level of design.
When you talk about not being able to drift, is that not a "you" problem? As I can and have always been able to drift. I don't get the quote about you saying you could never break traction even when it was off. My back end has always been out. Or maybe I misunderstood what you mean. Or maybe it comes down to the wheel. I think the TGT2 is the wheel to have for GT7. In my opinion, the cars have always felt good with it.
Now, what about the full game being in VR? And you can't say it's not the best in class when it comes to VR either. The only two games close to this in VR are Project Cars 3 and Automobilista 2, but they are nowhere close to how smooth and optimized GT7 is. We have AI now also. Kaz races in real life and does photography in real life, and all that is shown in the game. The cars react like the real cars as seen in Hubblefears' video and even some of mine, lining them up to real life. You can go competitive in league racing straight from the game. It's in the Olympics. There's so much on offer how can you not appreciate this effort?
Nicely said. The internet and UA-cam especially is nowadays overflowing with people that thinks they are making constructive criticism when in reality they are often just complaining and saying how would they like games (or anything else) to be like. It's getting more and more annoying to me. Why content creator won´t for a change make something to make the games more interesting. What about organizing GT7 league, so we have an alternative to manufacturers/nations cup. They can use their reach through the community and for example create something with livery artists like very high quality set of popular gr.3 cars liveries one for each country, or contact best GT7 photographers and make a project to create some sick desktop/mobile phone wallpapers or even printable posters. What about every week 1-2 hour stream of those car meets/livery showcases to get some unknow livery creators better recognition? There is so much possibilities, but we are instead drowning in "constructive criticism" videos or videos like "what I want in GT8".

My point was that there is really more than enough criticism videos (constructive or not, I don’t want to start debate about that). Why not just craft something for the Gran Turismo community instead of making the same type of videos over and over again? Instead of criticising just try to create something, you have huge reach in simracing community and you are in fact a content creator.

You pointed out the Nürburgring comparison and mentioned Forza. Now, understand that this is nothing but a track comparison video, and which game gets the job done? Which game gets the accuracy right out of the two? GT7 does, right? So, how can I criticize GT, considering not only is it accurate but also detailed? Whereas Forza's detail is fake. How can I praise Forza for this in the video?
Not only that, the video was also aimed at Forza's marketing. With you being a car channel, I'm sure you or maybe you listened to the market and understood the game that was promised, right? The marketing was a complete lie, as you can even hear it in the video, correct? Please understand this is not hate towards Forza; this is frustration from buying the game for £90 and it being a complete lie.
Not only that, how often in this day and age is Xbox doing this to us? Redfall, Starfield-the list goes on. So, this adds to my frustration because Forza, I was so hyped for, and they also took digs at GT about RT and stuff like that. They told us the tracks and the game itself are a generational leap, correct?
Now, we all know Forza is a competitor to GT, hence it's the perfect mix of making the comparisons. While listening to them for 6 years talk about this game and hype it up, I was expecting Forza to come hard and give GT a back seat. That was the impression I got. So, to me, if they can deliver the game they promised and beat GT, then we would have the most amazing next-gen game to date. But it was all a lie.
Would I defend Forza 3, 4, 5, 6? Yes, I loved them. I even enjoyed Forza 7 to some degree. Should I defend the new Forza? Hell no. This is why my video feels one-sided, but everything I state in my video, is it not factual? I'm harsh say it how it is, that's my way of how I make videos, with a little added entertainment purposes?
How can Forza win in the video debate? So, I don't understand your logic because the video kept on what the video aimed to do. Now, did GT push all this false narrative in their marketing? Nope. Slight loophole on the ray tracing aspect in the marketing, but nothing more. GT has always been GT, and it is way better than Sport.
Like I said, I was not here on UA-cam making videos when GT7 came out. I was here for Forza's launch. I praise Forza for the crashing over GT's dull impact feeling, etc. So, yes, you can consider my comment as debatable because we are now debating. I shared my opinion against yours. You kind of wanted to take this a little out of context by adding my comparison video in, and I don't know why. The video is literally a comparisons video, not a constructive criticism video.

Is GT7 perfect? No, but is the design of the game done with quality? Yes. Does it have room for improvements? Yes. Do they give us cars we don't want, like concept cars? Yes, and these annoy me. I could rant on, and this is just an impulsive reply.

I feel the slip way more on my dd extreme than my dd1. Honestly the tgt 2 on gt mode is impressive in this regard as well. The dd plus isn’t using fullforce yet but the haptics are much stronger by default which helps feel the slip n

I like the Sparco brake and sequential shifter so I kept a little setup for the tgt2 when I went to fanatec, since I’m on console I can’t mix and match the ecosystems. Tgt2 kinda priced itself out of being competitive, it’s fantastic for what it is but thrustmaster needs to seriously drop the prices of their bases as a lot has changed since

The biggest problem with Gran Turismo is that it's more or less the same gameplay as it was back 1997/8. Back then you could forgive it for the immersion breaking, contrived, and grindy race series that it offered because it had groundbreaking graphics and physics for the time.
These days the whole grind gameplay loop seems anachronistic, and in the case of GT7 a lot of elements are just weird and surreal.
Don't get me wrong, GT is part of what got me into sim racing (the other being Revs back in '85) and for that it always will have my respect, but the game formula is too old and tired for me these days. These days I tend to think of it as a game about cars, rather than a racing or driving sim even though it may have those aspects included, and that's not where my interest lies.
Gt has always been about cars and nothing wrong about that i am glad pd is doing something different than all the others, just sounds to me that gt is not for you, but i Will always love that you have to buy the cars race for cash and upgrade as you progress, thats actully what makes most sims dull in my opinion, the graphics in gt7 is putting most sims on even pc to shame, on a more limited hardware, if you think the gameplay is the same or even things like physics and sounds has not evolved you are living under a rock

GT7 and me, i quit playing it after 6months my feelings towards the piece of shit game made me leave console gaming all together and move over to iracing and in my opinion the move then was the best and with the 2024 season 2 update here you really cant say no to iracing
I Will always say no to iracing overpriced content, and you have to pay for everything, gt7 is in my opinion a much more fun game to play, they dont even attract at the same audiance so the fact you put iracing in camparsion is very strange
@andreasmoller9798 I rather pay for everything, this way I know what I'm getting, I get the best experience, I get a penalty system that WORKS and I get better racing plus I get more than 3 pathetic "daily" races
