    I am in the process of painting the crib, we used TSP to wash the crib down -- really helps taking off anything that will make the paint not stick

      @TheArchersTungsten 6 років тому

      I did the same on a changing station going from wood to white it worked really well using TSP first

    We did the same thing for my daughter’s nursery furniture! We got her crib for $20 and dresser for $15, and then we just painted them to match! Yours turned out so great!! 👏🏼👏🏼

    Thank you for mentioning that the paint is safe for babies. I had a son and had a ton of boyish furniture (crib, changing table, etc) and now that I am having a girl, I don’t want to buy new furniture. This gives me hope that I can repurpose what i already have 👍

    Very educational video! Short and simple to the point. Thank you for sharing your experience and guiding us through the painting process. I never used chalk paint and wasn’t sure. However this is a fantastic option with the distressing. Also I found from you about this super safe paint. Thanks again!

    My husband and I are going to repaint our daughters crib for our baby boy due in January 2021! It's a brown crib and we are repainting it white to match all the other furniture in our daughters room which she will now be sharing. Thank you for the video because I wasn't really sure how to go about how to paint it and with your video I now do!

    I'm curious how this paint has held up. I noticed you didn't use a primer, which I think is because this paint may not require that step.
    Thanks!

      What does the primer do?

    • @julainehanus7154
      @julainehanus7154 3 роки тому +2

      Primer was my concern too.
      It’s actually best to use a primer on all furniture etc … because it creates a porous finish which is better for your main color to adhere to , it also helps your chosen paint to become its truer color .

    Thanks for the video! Do you think sanding the gloss off the entire crib would have been beneficial for the paint sticking better, or does the paint adhere fine without sanding?

    I know this is two year old video- but hopefully I can still get a response. Did you have any troubles with chipping? I'm repainting our crib, and I worry about the paint chipping into their mouth if they start teething on it.

    Did you have to sand the whole thing? I'm wanting to repaint mine, but since the crib I have now has a glossy finish, I'm just trying to figure out if I need to sand the entire thing first before adding the paint

    • @BrylanandLisa
      @BrylanandLisa  5 років тому +1

      I only sanding areas with bite marks and scuffs with a sanding sponge to smooth those areas out, otherwise you don’t need to prep with sanding or primer if you are using the same paint I did 😊

    With the lullaby paint do I have to sand it down first ? Or could I possibly just paint over it ? My fiancé and I are very excited to repaint the crib it’s like a bonding moment❤️🤗😌

    • @BrylanandLisa
      @BrylanandLisa  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Niaa (or Nate 😉) You DONT have to sand it down if the wood is smooth, but you can if you want to. If your wood is very rough it would be a good idea to do a light sand, but again, if the wood is pretty smooth it is not necessary. Hope this helps! Also, we are very excited for you guys, it is a great bonding moment that you two will remember for the rest of your lives 🤗 What color did you choose?
