- Dr. Ravi Perry asks us to take a moment and think about being a kid again. With all of the responsibilities and expectations of being an adult, tapping into our inner kid with safety, comfort and love, our possibilities are endless.
Dr. Ravi K. Perry, a native of Toledo, Ohio, holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a M.A. and Ph.D. from Brown University, each in political science. Dr. Perry is Associate Professor of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Perry’s broad research interests focus on an evolving and prolific take on issues facing African-‐Americans in the United States. With specializations in Black politics, minority representation, urban politics, American public policy, and LGBT candidates of color, he concentrates his research and activism in areas such as the new generation of civil rights debates, public policy, and urban politics public service delivery to minority communities.

This reminds me of spongebob. Spongebob is a kid but if you really look at him he has the same life as squidward boring and all grown up. But at the same time spongebob has one thing that squidward does not. Genuine happiness, he’s a kid he goes one adventures has fun, he’s what we all want to be again a kid. Don’t succumb to the expectations of society where you work a boring minimum wage job that you hate and be a boring person. Strive to act like a kid more often, have fun, be adventurous, you have one life to live, don’t waste it because society tells you to grow up.

I want to be a kid again because of my cousin, he was like a brother to me. We were happy together and sometimes fighting, but that's the meaning of true friendship. I have a vivid memory of my cousin and I playing then I got hurt, I cried, so my cousin told me to go to bed and sleep. I lay down, my cousin was next to me sitting, i asked him "if I go to sleep will Jesus heal me"? Then he said yes he will. It was so calm and bright, birds singing like a nursery rhyme that put me to sleep. My cousin really cared for me.
We 2 are teenagers now. My parents said that we are going to the U.S. and live there. So when the time comes, I was going to say goodbye to my cousin but he was taking a shower. Then his mom told me that he was crying because i was going to leave. So I left with my parents trying to hold my tears. As I left I remembered what he said back then that I need to protect my sister and my little cousins. Right now Im here living in the U.S while my cousin/brother is in the Philippines. Everytime I think about my cousin my tear drops. After talking to him using our phone he will always say that I need to protect what's precious to him and to me. I promised to protect them just for him.
Keep in touch with your cousin . He seems to be such a good friend. Salute
If children were big and intelligent like us but retained their sense of wonder and positivity, they would make the world a wonder to live in
Grown ups are certainly NOT intelligent if they were this wouldn't ever be lost and the world would not resemble how it is now.

Yeah I wouldn't want to go back to being a child again. There is things I can do now, that I couldn't do as a child. I do miss the time period of when was a child the 2000s. But what I miss the most is the freedom of mind, imagination, and creativity as a small child. Carefree and simply living .

I remember when i was way shorter than my mom now look at me go, i surpassed her at age 13 now i’m 15 and i want to be 7 again, my dad passed away 2019 and i wanna meet again. Life sucks because you can’t repeat :(

Back in 2006 when I was 1 year old my parents didn't have enough money to buy ourselves food,toys and many other things but back then I was much happier then now.Miss my childhood 😢

that feeling of true happiness...one of the many miracles felt as a child. but when you're a child, you don't realize the feeling doesn't last and how amazing it is, and you take it for granted. now, there's nothing we want more than to feel that sense of happiness and true wonder again. It makes me cry because I don't know how to get there.

You are basically at the age where your mind and body begin to slowly transition to adulthood. It is still to early to feel what the video says though. It hits after 26 and got a few years in a job you thought was your goal at 20
No one told us that we were happy and that it wont last forever
they did in their own way...I see it now. all the times I was told, "you're so young, enjoy it while it lasts", "being a kid doesn't last forever", it wasn't explicity pointed out to us, but even if it was, I think people would still take it forgranted- I know I probably would. just because it was so hard for me to imagine actually growing up and not having that constant security as a child- I didn't think that time would ever come, I couldn't comprehend that it would ever actually happen. and now I'm here and am only just now realizing what I had back then.

I'm well into my sophomore year now, and although I do miss childhood a lot, being a teenager is also really great a lot of the time. You'll meet some pretty great people who will show you a great time, don't worry yourself too much. I was in your shoes once :)

I wish I was still a kid. I mean, im kinda still a kid, but I dont live like one anymore. Im living a midlife crisis at the age of 16. Being trapped in a school of what feels like jail,never having any fun free time. Im Always stressed, depressed, scared, worried,never having fun. I want to cry. I know inside im just a kid, who wants a happy life. I want to run and play with my friends again, I want to go on adventures again and make this world my own. My youth has already been taken away. If life isn't fun and games, then whats the point. I guess Its just a means to no end, or no good end at least. After all, we all grow up to die..
