These teachings are such an eye opener for me! Though I had been taught contrary to what you share, I didn't study Revelation in detail, though I tried! It was so overwhelming for me I was too entrenched in what I had been taught! Because I very much wanted to understand Revelation, God knew my desire for truth and a sound interpretation of His word! Bruce, I am always blown away by the clarity of your teaching. It’s amazing how keeping the Revelation in its time context, simplifies the explanations. Though it takes the fun out of concocting all kinds of fairy stories using the premillennial hermeneutic, it’s a whole lot more believable. @@GoreBruce Some preterists posit the Great Tribulation during the War of the Jews (Spring AD 67 to the fall of AD 70), which is directly centered on the razing of Jerusalem and God's retributive punishment of "the synagogue of satan"... with non specific regard to the Neronic persecution. Unless I misunderstand you, it sounds like you are contrarily suggesting that the Great Tribulation refers specifically to the AD 64-68 Neronic Persecution. Is that correct? Though I think that makes more sense, I was under the impression that the Neronic Persecution began in the summer of 64 and ended some time in 66 (which wouldn't afford it the necessary 42 months). What am I missing? Do you think the outpouring of God's wrath (as He crushed the power of the holy people per Daniel) is the times, time and and half a time (3 1/2 years) in the Revelation? Adding the Neronic Persecution into the mix, which makes sense since it targets the Great Tribulation of the Church, throws a monkey wrench into my neat and tidy AD 67-70 all encompassing Josephus's "War of the Jews". Ugh. So, where in Scripture do you see the prophetic battle between the Romans and the Jews? With new information sometimes I have to take a few steps back before I can begin to move forward again. As a matter of historical (providential) coincidence, it matches the persecution under Nero, which began in November of 64 and continued until his death in the summer of 68, and it also fits nicely with the Jewish wars. The 'Great Tribulation' is not described as lasting 3 1/2 years, and I think it simply applies to the entire period of trouble that ended abruptly with the fall of Jerusalem in August 70.
I am so refreshed and encouraged by your teaching and feel like things that were so mysterious to me before are being made plain. I grew up in the dispensational world, I guess - I never really had a name for it - and now I am left with a feeling of what next? So much time spent feeling as though I was living in end times and Jesus was returning soon. It's kind of hard to even understand how to proceed with this new knowledge. But I'm looking forward to learning more about that as I listen through to the end of Revelation.

I enjoy the wounded head that you gave in this instance but need more clarity on the small horn in Dan 7 if you don’t mind. You also have mentioned Nero as well referencing Dan 7 23 in your first commentary on Dan 7 on your website so I’m so so confused please help!!
Good question! In the Daniel presentation, I don't believe I mentioned the 'wounded head' as such, an idea taken from Revelation. I did mention that the seven 'Herods' may correspond to the seven heads of the dragon, but that is not to be viewed as some kind of iron-clad symbolism, but rather one of many providential 'accidents' as it were. Herod was the face of the Roman Empire in the Jewish world in the first half of the 1st century. The Roman Empire was always the under-girding political reality in view, however, and the mortal wound can still be applied to Rome notwithstanding the additional correlation between Herod and the dragon. Official Israel had already fully rejected Jesus, and Jesus had pronounced his verdict and sentence on Tuesday of Holy Week. The statement at his trial was, however, the most distinct and dramatic announcement of that rejection.
For me, there are a few problems with the view you present in this video which I'd like to highlight. Though, you present some facts which I do understand to correlate with the keys of scripture. Some I think do not fit the context. The beast 'out of the sea' is indeed the Gentile kingdoms, including the then present Babylon, that were to come to unite the world in rebellion to God's Word. However, the beast 'out of the land' is the power and facilitator which makes the 'all who dwell in/on the earth' to worship the first beast. If it were merely Israel of the first century facilitating Rome's power, it could only have done so over Judea itself and not over the whole earth. Even if, indeed, the expression of the 'whole earth' were, as you say, representative of the Roman Empire. For this view to be correct, 'those that dwell on the earth' in Rev 13:12,13&14, would be restricted to Israel. Is this your view?
I will make the case that 40 translators fluent in Hebrew and Greek were able to correctly translate the bible perfectly into English. The word "world" is a word that is used not often as the entire earth in the bible. World can also refer to a system, or the prominent idea or the thinking among the inhabitants of the earth. We often say "my world" or "this world". The word "world" is therefore a better translation I think. Anyway, I trust God to have given me his pure words, and I cannot imagine that God would let his precious church have an incorrect translation for 500 years, and needed necromancers to correctly translate his word in the mid 1800s , even the heretics Wescott and Hort. Love your teachings, sir, but I hope you will consider to go back to God's pure words tried in the earth seven times. God bless.
