Why does the ufc keep gifting khazmat 3 round fights? You sum it up perfectly. He’s beating himself up but everything was stacked against him. He’s a real champ and a MAN for taking on this challenge. One of the GOATs for sure
You should watch the fight again. Khamza broke his dominant right hand. Kumaru is not doubt a good fighter, but not a GOAT! He got outclased on the ground and taken down several times. If Khamza didn't have a broken hand, the 2nd, 3rd rounds would be drastically different. If you ever had a broken hand, which I did, it numbs your entire arm up to the shoulder. Its pretty useless.
@@MR-AK I agree with a lot of what you said. Usman is terrible on his back. He’s a black belt but honestly looks like a white belt off of his back. He can’t create any sort of movement to get off the mat. It happened when Edwards took him down and it happened yesterday with Khamzat. And yes, while the broken wrist surely played a role in Khamzat’s reluctance to strike, I seriously doubt the striking exchange would be any different if his wrist was in good condition. Although he didn’t unload like he should’ve, Usman’s strikes were hurting Khamzat. He is not as good a striker as Usman by any means. But to not call Usman one of the GOATs is just plain disrespectful. He is on the second best WW run of all time, second only to GSP. Facts. He was kinda hated early on for his inability to speak well (that was 30%) and then the lackluster hug and stomp in the first Masvidal fight. But he kept grinding and put on some all time classics with Colby. Showed his heart in the Burns fight and got one of the best KOs of all time in the Masvidal rematch. All in the span of a couple years. Legend
Tough to see him take it so hard. I forgot it was only 3 rounds so used to seeing him in 5. It was an honourable loss. Full camp and 5 rounds it’s a tough call to pick who gets their hand raised.

This guy from a fighter that used to be classed as 'boring' to being one of the most dominant champions to ever grace the UFC. He tackled one of the most feared men in the UFC on 10 days notice. And then stepping in and fighting through that first round. Then going on to give his opponent a crash course on stand up for the rest of the right. Mad respect Usman. I was a fan before. But now I'm a fan for life.
I was not a fan of this guy until the last couple weeks. What he did by taking short notice fight a weight class higher and going out and swinging for the fences. He just gained at least one more fan, and a fan for life now.
Its the take down threat Khamzat possess. No one ever had a first round like that ever against Usman , Khamzat's notorious for relentlessly going for the legs in full throttle mode. He got a big taste of it in the first round and was more prepared to defend it coming in second round also regaining stamina from containing all of that pressure. Id say he was more calculated than gun shy if you ask me
I think he's a little shell shocked after Leon scrambled his brains with the kick but to call out Du Plessis seems bold. He is maybe more of an unstoppable force than Khamzat
He has NOTHING to be ashamed about, ppl thought he would get mauled up a weight class facing a monster on short notice . Not only did he hold his own after a 10-8 first but he ended it on his shield swinging . HOF all time great and will always have a fan in me 🇳🇬👏🏾❤️
Kamaru is a monster too, so this fight for ME usman won because he defended so well on the ground and on feets he was way way better than khamzat, khamzat was eating those punches, if this was 5 round kamaru would have been get the job done by KO, but thats the fight game is what it´s
Wow. This is true championship material. Imagine doing anything with 10 days of prep and being this hard on yourself for losing. Unbelievable. Thank you champ.
Respect to Usman goes without saying, but what stood out for me here was Megan’s skill and tact as an interviewer using her experience and knowledge of the fighter and sport to get heartfelt answers from educated and considered questions
Absolute legend. I used to hate on this man, when he was beating all my fav fighters. But seeing him get sad about this it hit me man this guys is an absolute hall of fame and imo his stock only rises here. Naa. 1 win. There are no other stylistic matches that challenges Khamzat right now. Usman has a perfect fight in his mind. Co-main the title fight and have a glorious set up.
A year ago this man was literally on top of the whole game!!! And now 3 loses in a row. Crazy how fast your career can change in such a short amount of time.
You’ve been on top of the mountain longer than the average champ. Keep your head up and remember that even the guys that have beat you have mad respect for you. You’ve done a lot for the sport and May continue. Just because you got beat doesn’t mean you can’t come back and take back more wins, you just have to train a little harder and shift to finish fights faster.
Massive respect for usman, he’s the reason we got to see the fight. And he more than represented his skills and championship metal they he always has had.
i agree, he didn't make an adjustement for three rounds, because he fought five for years. That's why he keeps saying "you don't start slow like that in a three-round fight". He starts slow to spread out the energy for five rounds. Miscalculation. As for Chimaev his performance wasn't impressive at all tbh, I think Du plessis should get the title shot.
It hurts me to see Usman like this. First time he finally looks human from a mentality perspective. It's sad but it also reminds me that no matter how great of a champion you are, at the end you're only human and you can "cry" too. Honestly, after a performance like that on 10 days notice against Chimaev, the last thing he should do is doubting himself. If anything, this only proved that he has a lot left to give to the sport and I hope he'll bounce back. Let's go usman
Very gutted for this guy. One of my all time favourites and even tho he lost, he showed everybody that he has a lion heart, determination and he is not washed yet. Keep your head up mate, you are still a beast, believe in yourself as much as we do
I'm a casual but from what I've observed, he's only gained fans with how he does business, win or lose...took it the distance with the new big bad guy on the scene on short notice. He should n hopefully over time see, that's not at all too shabby. I haven't seen it, but I believe Khamzat does probably gas himself a bit. 5 rounds could have been different story.
Kamaru you're one of the best I've seen. Hearing the story of the way you trained as a teenager and the resiliency you showed after you're father's incarceration is a champion's mindset. The first to Edwards was in the bag until the end. And going up a weight class to fight an undefeated fighter on a few days notice is not an easy task. So you deserve to be there; remember that and come back stronger.
From being on top of the world to losing 3 in a row. That’s extremely tough, especially from an athlete who’s worked so hard to be on the top. When Khamzat took Usman down I knew he was legit. Usman has the best takedown defense. Burns & Usman stepped up taking on the future of the UFC. I hope Usman bounces back & finds his mojo again.
I don’t think he will be on top again. But he does deserve that fight he talked about. - DPP at UFC 300. and give him points as a mark of respect to him saving that card like he did.
@@234i9 The only fight that he's looked bad in was the third Leon fight. He dominated Leon in the second one (before getting KO'd) and he did very well against Khamzat on very short notice.
Khamzat is good but Usman getting taken down is not surprising given that he finally fought at a more suitable weight. He is not a natural welterweight. He's a small middleweight.
Feel so bad about him man, he looked broken in this interview. We need to realize that he's almost 40 years old soon and he said many times that his knees have gotten worse. Not only that, he took the fight in 11 days notice and he won a round as well and went to a decision.
This man is a G. You have to respect the fearlessness and having that amazing coaching team behind him. Looking forward to see what this man does next 👏🏿
He has nothing to be disappointed about. He's been top of the food chain for so long. Everyone's time comes eventually. Those who don't get defeated play it safe. He had the courage to step up to a beast like Khamzat on short notice. He loses no stock here in my opinion.
His stock raised for me after this fight. Surviving that first round was ultra impressive and shows just how good Usman is. That was some real adversity. I was getting really nervous. And it's clear that if this were 5 rounds, Usman would have won. So, I don't care if he lost a decision to this guy. We all know where it was going.
Very honest and raw interview from Kamaru. I love this guy and I think hitting rock bottom like this will be good in the long run. I think it’ll make him hit training much harder than before if he can regain his confidence. Usman is very much capable of regaining the title, he just needs to reset and remember that aside from Leon, he ran through the welterweight division
@@ThatBibleStudyChannel2023I mean it’s pretty much rock bottom, nobody comes back the same after 3 loses, even tho Kamaru has 2 very close fight and would probably have a different outcome if this fight was fight rounds, but his confidence will never be the same. Its the take down threat Khamzat possess. No one ever had a first round like that ever against Usman , Khamzat's notorious for relentlessly going for the legs in full throttle mode.
Khamzat is a tornado, a true force of nature in the 1st round. He does expend a lot of energy and doesn’t pace himself very well, he needs to learn that. But very impressive from both men, khamzat manhandling usman like that in the 1st was a sight to behold…. This is kamaru usman he did that to… world class wrestler and absolute physical specimen
Kamaru I hope you read this: AINT NO WAY you're down on yourself bro. You're one of the best champs we ever had, you're indeed a championship fighter. Those three losses aint nothing man. You're one of the greatest bro
Understandably he is upset but he should hold his head high. Came in with little prep and gave a very good account of himself. And if that fight was 5 rounds we might be having a different conversation right now. No doubt He is a legend in the game and one of the best to ever do it . Tons of respect to both him and Chimaev.
I can see how he felt like he won, I didnt think round 1 was 10-8, zero damage was done and he definitely won all the standup
If 5 rounds, Usman would've had it. One of the greatest of ALL time. No need to hold your head down, you're doing what many can't and that's why your spirit can NEVER be defeated!
Mad respect to Usman for stepping up, going up in weight and fighting this guy on 11 days notice
Gutted to see him on this slump
We over-prayed for his downfall.
Yes we wanted him to finally lose and see Leon become champion but we didn't ask for his career to be ruined completely.
Usman really turned face with this fight. Talking about going back to the gym after what was probably a huge payday just speaks to Usman's work ethic and character.
Usman always looks like he has 15 different personalities fighting to come out 😂
Who steps in for a fight of this calibur on 10 days Notice?!?!?!? AND WHO WOULD MOVE UP A WEIGHT CLASS TO DO SO?!? Hands up for kamaru usman man. One of the greatest fighters well ever see.
Man...i feel for him. He's gotta keep in mind 12 days is crazy to expect a victory. If anything he should feel proud. Shake it off champ ❤
It's fuel for dogs but dread for people who just aren't sure or pushing that confidence. Hats off to Usman and Volkanovski both for taking those fights on 12 days.
@@JA-ru3il I hear you bro, should always think victory but it's tough seeing him take it so hard. It's not like he trained three or four months for this fight and it had a lot riding on it. But this is also what makes him one of the greatest of all time. You can't not have that mindset
Big fan of Kamaru and hope this isn't the end for him. Great champion
This Man Is the Champ Forever. Absolute Legend
How is he a champ, if he is not the champ
@@fitfirst4468duck head 🤦♂️
Mad respect for wearing the same outfit as megan
He took the fight on short notice and didn’t have a full training camp. Also went up in weight, and fought a younger stronger dude, much respect.
No excuses
@@JuanDuran-l2hwas not an excuse hes just pointing out facts on why he should be respected even in his loss
That was a close fight. I’m impressed with both fighters but Usman’s punches were divine and accurate. I’ll give it to him 💯
You give it to Him like He won that fight??????
I feel for Usman man. He fought really good against a young tough dude in Khamzat who is super strong and big even at 185, Usman been fighting at 170 forever. It was a good fight I wish it had been on the feet a little more but even Usman who has superb take down defense had trouble stopping Khamzat from getting him down. I think Usman has lost a little bit of his reaction time since the headkick ko, but he is still one of the top contenders imo. He shouldnt retire, he just needs to not overthink what hes doing and get out their and fight and be aggressive like he was when he was having lots of success.
big Respekt for Kamaru Usman, hes a real warrior
Dude 12 days notice. He’s a boss. He can’t be hard on himself even though it’s easy to do. The dude is a machine who dominated the best in the world. 💪🏽🙌🏽
Usman was amazing and is a pure fighter, hope he doesn't take another short notice fight ever again cause of his age he just naturally needs time for his body to prepare not his mind or will to fight. Got my complete respect and awe
What a true man and champ...Camaru if you're reading this you're an inspiration for a young boy like me from a small country(Greece) on the other side of the world...thank you and never doubt yourself
Usman earned so much respect for turning up to this fight the way he did.
Double suits cool tho, respect usman truly a warrior
Legend for stepping in. A true champion!
still khamzat is on another level
@@jamesstevenson5329WHAT? He did nothing in round 2 and 3 just some takedown but no damage and usman won in the standup it should be a draw
tell me, are you black?@@abecede3660
@@abecede3660and cumshot was freaking gassed. Wish it was a 5 round fight
Lol no he isn't. Literally all the odds were stacked against Usman in ths fight. He has like 10 valid excuses, yet the fight was still close. Usman beats Khamzat 9/10 times. He won the last two rounds in my opinon, so technically he wins 10/10 times@@jamesstevenson5329
My admiration for this legend grow higher even in defeat. Kamaru you are beast.
Megan’s a sweetheart
She has heartfelt emotions for these athletes..
Much love and respect for Usman. One of my all time favorite fighters! 🤙
Mine too!!
