tibia: the front/shin bone of your leg
heel pad/skin: the tough skin on your heel.
pelite/liner: the foam thing i wear to put on my legs
symes amputation: amputation done at the foot/ankle instead of in the middle of your shin/tibia.
An informal video on exactly how I can walk without my prosthetic legs, aka walking around on my 'stumps.' This video is mostly for other amputees as well as parents, or anyone interested!

I was in a serious car accident a month ago and my left foot was ripped off. The doctors believe it was way to damaged and about 3 inches below my knee my leg was amputated. I am still in the hospital as I write this. They say in a couple days I should be okay to leave.. it feels like my life has ended. I will never be able to do what I did before and I have extreme anxiety about my future. I have been watching videos like yours to help me understand that it will be okay.. it's still a lot to take in..
