This "Ave Maria" was composed by Igor Krutoy, the pianist here. A song without lyrics is called a "vocalise", and nobody does it better than Dimash.
The composer of this song, Igor Krutoy, came out of retirement in 2017 to compose with and for Dimash. Dimash asked Igor to compose for him an Ave Maria, and this is the result.
At the age of 5, Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year.
Last year I saw a short video of Dimash (always the perfectionist) working with his vocal coach to make sure he nailed the difficult technique for the last two notes.
This version of Ave Maria transcends religion and goes directly to the One creator of us all. It speaks to the soul of every person's love for God.
Dimash met, and received a medal from, The Pope. Although he is Muslim, Dimash is all inclusive to humanity, regardless of country or religion, he is the world's Cheerleader. "Olympico" is another example of this. Written by Igor Krutoy (Master Composer) for Dimash. Please make sure you find a performance that has subtitles, the lyrics are extremely important. It is sung in Italian, and won Dimash "Classical Singer of the Year" at the Russian "Victoria Musical Awards".
Dimash lives a clean life, no drugs, no alcohol, no smoking. Exercises daily, vocal exercises daily, I'm sure he even keeps his fingers limber by playing the piano or Dombra. Dimash plays many instruments as well as being a great singer. And as I said in your last video, the guy has been singing for almost 25 years, he understands his voice and how not to hurt it.

There are at least 12 Ave Maria’s around. Music composition doesn’t need to take into consideration people’s religion. Krutoy is a musical genius and Dimash is fortunate to have such a source for beautiful music written especially for him.

The maestro pianist composer of this new version of Ave Maria made specially at Dimash's request knows full well what Dimash can do and watches him intently so he is always on point with Dimash. Igor came out of semi retirement on hearing Dimash. IMO it must have been magical to finally find a singer that can do about all you've imagined you could compose and see that singer literally paint the musical picture with his voice.

The vocalization of "Ave Maria" was written especially for Dimash by the Russian composer Igor Krutoy and was not based on the themes of Schubert, Bach/Gounod that you know. To a greater extent, it resembles the vocalization of "Ave Maria", written by the Russian lutenist V.Vavilov in 1970 and published by him under the name of the little-known Italian composer Giulio Caccini (1551-1618). Dimash has started vocal lessons at the age of 5 and he is University trained in both Classical and Contemporary music as well as Music Composing. He has around a 7,2 Octave vocal range and is a professional at what he does. Also the backup vocalists set the atmosphere and were great. The Pianist of course was phenomenal as usual, his name is Igor Krutoy and he came out of retirement to work with Dimash, he is the one who composed this version of Ave Maria for Dimash.

Dimash holds Master degrees in both classical and contemporary music. I'm sure you are familiar with the vocalise form of music, meant to showcase the singers abilities and is actually an exercise for the singer as well. One other favorie vocalise among many is by Faure. Dimash practices hours every day and is careful of what he eats and drinks. He swims which helps with his lung control certainly. Dimash has performed with other opera singers on several occasions notably Aida Garfullina in Ulisse and joined by Lara Fabian in Ti Amo Cosi where Dimash sings baritone. In El Amor en Ti he sings in baritone, tenor and soprano as well as contemporary in one song accompanied by Dimash!

This is an original composition by Igor Krutoy (at the piano). The beginning of the piece seems to be an imitation of the sounds from Outer Space that were recorded by NASA, establishing an otherworldly atmosphere. Dimash intentionally uses only vocalization to make this a prayer/meditation for all people, regardless of their spiritual orientation. Words often divide us, but music has the power to unite. The purity of Dimash's voice, the genius of Igor Krutoy's composition, the choir, instrumentation, and staging all combine to transport the listener beyond this earthly existence into the heavenly worlds. Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully

There are more then dozens of Ave Maria compositions, Shubert's version happens to be the most known. This is Igor Krutoy's composition especially made for Dimash.
Never ever expect tunes you know when Dimash is going to sing it, especially when Igor Krutoy is around him. 😅

To put it in context:
He sings lower than bass in Opera. The lowest note is usually C2....and higher longer sustained whistle note.

They worked together in collaboration to make this beautiful song matched to Dimash's voice. You really shouldn't have talked over that beautiful and extremely difficult ending which was much higher than a C. Yes Dimash is very highly musically educated from 5 years old until the present time where he is about to finish his PhD in Musicology. That pianist wrote that composition just for Dimash. He is Igor Krutoy, world famous Russian producer, composer, pianist. If you hear his name or see him playing the piano, when Dimash performs, he wrote it. Not all of Dimash's songs of course, but a lot of songs Dimash has sung.

He's a VERY famous russian composer (I can't believe that you being a classical pianist never heard of him before) and a good friend of Dimash. Dimash asked him to compose a song that everyone could understand regardless culture, religion, or language. This is the result. Ave Maria that you talked about, is mainly a catholic song. So... Dimash is Muslim and Igor is Jewish. So why a catholic song? Why not this version? You may not know but the Pope listened to this song and to the Story of one Sky (among others) by Dimash and Dimash was received by Him. Not everybody is allowed to talk to the Pope and only a few are invited by Him. He gave Dimash a medal. This reflects the important messages that Dimash puts in his songs/music. I've seen your others and today I saw you get shocked again with "Across Endless Dimensions". The reason I was hoping you would eventually get to Ave Maria is because it was my favorite note ever song by human at the end of this interpretation by Dimash. And I can play that last note over and over and still get a tear. Just like I did again today. So thank you for being one of my favorites.

Hello dear. This "Ave Maria" is a fragment of the opera by the Russian musician and composer Vladimir Vavilov that Ygor Krutoy arranged at Dimash's request especially for his voice. In the performance Dimash appears a pair of wings representing the Angel Gabriel when he comes to announce to the "young Mary" the birth of our "Lord Jesus, the Christ". "Ave Maria" is a meditation, a prayer considered the great mystery of birth and death. The clothing that Dimash wears depicts the polarities that symbolize the black represents the basic instincts rooted in the earth and the white represents the purity and evolution of the heart and soul that can finally rise to heaven. "Ave Maria" closes with a golden key the trilogy of songs: "Stranger", and "Fly Away".

You are so right about taking good care of one's voice. In the 1970s I heard an interview of Lily Pons on WRR FM in Dallas. She talked about how her voice instructors taught her to not sing more than a certain number of performances and a certain number of practices in a given amount of time. She never veered away from that teaching. She sang a few songs while on WRR live and at 80 years old her voice still sounded so smooth I could not believe it. You would have thought she was in her 30's!

Thank you. This is not Schubert's or any other composer's 'Ave Maria'. It is a new composition by Igor Krutoy (on piano) at the request of Dimash. Dimash channels the angels in this all inclusive gorgeous piece. All are touched and lifted to the heavens. This is not a Christian song, but one for all religions and all people.
If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

Im suprised as a classical pianist you imediately jumped to assuming which ave maria it was when you should know there are dozens. This is yet another version to add to the long list.
