I am very happy for you Jesse , I have been waiting for this episode for weeks. Can’t wait for the next episode. FWD 24/7 have improved the show by including you in the show. I can relate to your excitement when you told us that most of your other projects haven’t been done with new components. Great work FWD 24/7. Don’t leave Jesse’s next GU / BMW episode too long. Can’t wait and have followed this project from the beginning. 👍
What a bugger! That was one hell of a set back.... i've had my fair share of mechanical setbacks, cylinder head studs pulling out when torquing them down etc, but not quite as bad as your predicament! You look like you handed it well though... Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance mate.
2 months ago about found this channel. Owned 4 Jeeps. Here I am… just bought a Jeep last night ! Already stripping her down 24 hours later ! Thank you guys! Really got me out of my depression stage. 🍻🇺🇸
BMW mechanic here, daily is a 2006 E53 X5 3.0 M57D30, that issue you had with the DME (ECU) isn't a sync issue as such, a lot more complicated than that. The M57 I'm seeing here looks very much like an early model. If it is, I'd really recommend a swirl flap delete (they are in the intake manifold, and known for failing and wiping out a piston and/or the cylinder), and aslo upgrade the EGR valve to the newer swirl pot design. Glad you swapped to the earlier style cast manifold, one of the first things I did to the X5. Cost about $175 landed here in NZ but haven't had a problem since. Just make sure the bracket at the bottom that helps support the weight of the turbo is installed too, as it helps minimise warping of the casting. Other than that, if you're running the factory DME and have issues, get in touch. And HDI Tuning in the UK can get these things to a healthy 300BHP and 600Nm of torque on the factory DME, for not much money and no loss to fuel economy. Such a good platform, have fun with it.
Stripped the interior out of a VN commodore when I was a first year apprentice. From memory I think I found about $30 in gold and silver coins. Boss let me keep it too! Might not sound like much these days but when I was only taking home $168 a week it was a nice little bonus!! Jesse’s excitement of finding coins made me smile!
Yep Jess is def a top bloke would be great if he came to Perth 4x4 show one year I personally know Graham I've met Shaun now b great to meet Jess, keep up the great work
One of the first 247 episodes I watched was the crew in the glasshouse Mountains and Jesse at the time had the green td42 gu single cab I’d love to see this face off with that green gu in the glasshouse
Good on ya Jesse , big win. people laugh and point but im currently undertaking a 1UZ swap into a jimny.... yeah in a jimny. and cant wait for this moment :D (yes it fits it's in the engine bay with a box and t/case behind it.) for those wondering , no im not running the jimny g/box or transfer ... or diffs lol . kun26 hilux gearbox and transfer and XJ cherokee diffs bit of a frankenmonster, but its a challenge im up for. best of luck with the rest of the build brother
Well done mate. You been the quite one. And show can done be done on the cheap. I'm so happy and excited for you. You deserve it. ) take care. Mick the gong. )
Jesse the negative jumper lead needs to go onto the body of the starter motor when testing. You had the positive in the right position and you use the screwdriver like you did and that triggers the solenoid and the positive power goes through the solenoid and out the the starter motor through the pole that you connect the negative jumper lead to
Good on yer Jesse , glad your finally getting round the niggles and sorting the big girl... Can't wait to see it done and out the shed on some trips.... 🤙
Jesse , you know your stuff . I fkn love it . Can see how passionate you are too when it comes to anything that’s sucks , squeezes , bangs and blows 💨 hehehe 🤘🏼
I don’t know what they’re like down under ( I’ve heard some of they’re inline sixes are very good) but in North America once they’re a few years old you can buy them cheap because they’re so costly to maintain and repair. I hope you have good luck with that engine?
Tell you what after 4wd24/7 added Jesse the channel has gotten a thousand times better
And Jock .
I think he needs to take Darrel out on a big trip with Shauno
@@EV0_au agreed
