    You guys really hit the jackpot….unbelievable…the doors, the windows…the shutters and of course the vaulted ceilings…please, try to save and capture all the priceless patina. ..toy don’t need to paint everything..there are so many ways to conserve what you and still satisfy your essential and esthetic desires…stay safe……wear safety glasses when needed…those peepers are irreplaceable…

      Would love to know. )

      The power of the aquaduct any chance to use to make your own electricity? Via water wheel?
      Great job so far, I'm really enjoying watching you! and your dad of course 😊 any chance of a tour of the whole villa and grounds? Where in Italy is it? How much did it cost? Can I ask what nationality are you as I can't make out your accent 🤔 looking for to seeing more of you 😊 and the amazing work your doing ...

      It is currently being used to generate power, however not for the villa. I might consider it in the future, it officially isn’t my property unfortunately. Thanks for your interest, I will do a finance video in the future! I am Dutch, i have been exposed to various accents growing up so that’s why you can hear such a mix probably haha.
      Thanks for you kind words!

    (cabinetmaker:) May I suggest you wait until the woodwork has dried out before you think of planing doors and windows to fit. I see craftsmanship, and after all the doors and windows once fitted nicely when the house was in use unless you see wearing or scraping from contact with the floor or frames. Best wishes.

    I would have purchased the largest brush cutter you could buy. One with a blade and a string.
    That would have saved you days of work and you will need it later to keep the property under control.
    We here on our little farm have no Lawn mower. Just sheep and a brush cutter STIHL. Jim

    My friend first of all congratulations on the renovation of your villa. My name is Rob Rob King from the UK. I love watching these programs. I’m a little bit shocked that you haven’t got the tools yet are you you don’t want string strimmer you want a metal blade strimmer you want to chainsaw And then inside I noticed that you’ve cleaned up absolutely fantastic give it a good jet washing down you’ll see the difference like you’ve done with the floor. Also you’ve made a kitchen is at temporary that temporary island that you put in the kitchen without painting or is that later, please reply to me thank you, Rob

    • @Villa_Oliva
      @Villa_Oliva  Рік тому

      Hi Rob, I can imagine you're a bit shocked, this isn't your ordinary arsenal of tools. However, I have a good reason for using these tools. I think I explained in the first Q&A. In short, this way I get a nice workout in and feel more connected to the place. Lastly, it gives me time to think about what and how to do things. I appreciate you thinking along and commenting to make my process quicker and easier, thanks for that! The kitchen is temporary yes, we will definitely come back to the kitchen later. I try to reply to all the comments, don't worry. Thanks again!

    A year already? I hadn't realised when I began watching your vlogs a couple of months ago. Still - a case of jobs well done. And seeing that volume of water again, I keep thinking self reliance in electricity. Just watched an Englishman build a water wheel for that purpose for another person. Learnt from it that you barely need much water to get plenty of electricity, most of the water in that case had to be diverted around a little bit, otherwise the wheel span far too fast. And the system had to be set to go as slow as possible, even when the water amount was reduced. That tells me you could have a small wheel, so the cost could be manageable. I mention it again because the power bills here are just continually increasing, so much so that many are battling to pay. Crazy. Never mind, you may have much better ideas. Best wishes to you both. You are having a go and will have a wonderful home after a lot of work. Well worthwhile.

    good water flow to do some micro hydro power..see the videos of the chap in Wales, off Grid, Pillar and post channel, prints turbine wheels and its all in a small shed..hardly visible..you could do a 2 foot high Wood , 6 x 6 ft square knockout platform deck next to the creek..hydro in the knockout..2 to 3 foot high is enough...next to the creek or make a Derivation tube than funnels flow into your turbine..better ROI than Solar..more dependable

    • @Villa_Oliva
      @Villa_Oliva  Рік тому

      Good one, I will see if it is possible. I will start with solar however because i've got some potential sellers. Agree with you on reliability though

    You should buy a small long handled sythe for the garden as it would save you a lot of work. You push it into the brush and pull at the base of the weeds and it cuts them to the ground then use it to pull the weeds out. It's invaluable for brambles also. I also saw that some of your tall weeds are very toxic, roots leaves and fruit so you have to wash your hands well each time. Good luck what a beautiful villa xo

    Nice , interesting venture. Looking forward to forward to seeing your progress. Beautiful to see folks of all cultures persevere with hard work to accomplish their goal. Breathing new life into historical homes. Just an observation about successful UA-cam channels on renovation I have watched. 15 to 20 minutes seem to be the sweet spot. The lack of talking and more doing also seems to be well received. Great job so far. Hope my suggestions are helpful and not offensive. Would like to see you all really grab the algorithm! Thanks M

    My brilliant late son traveled the world during his short, very busy life. In, I think it was 2007, he, his sister and friends backpacked through mostly Northern Italy. At the time, I was here in rural Pa renovating a large loft apt on the top, 3rd floor of a 200yr old building on our main St. when they came for the Holiday that year, I was told about abandoned homes and villas they came across in Italy, France and Spain-and how cheap people were trying to sell them. They ran into a couple in Greece, from the UK, who were renovating a large Villa which had housed an extended family for many years, (CJ said it reminded him of many of the courtyard homes in rural China), and had turned it into…I forgot the name, but it was like a Hostel where mostly young people would stay for free for weeks or several months, in return, they contributed their skills to the renovation. The kids wished they’d had the time to do it. In the 80’s, me and friends were helping each other build our own homes and we learned skills I never thought I would need..almost 40yrs later, those skills came in very handy.
    Anyways, subscribed and looking forward to seeing the progress. I just wish my health was better so I could do something like this again!
    I understand you wouldn’t give an exact figure..but what is the range a villa of this size is now going for, as is?

    It's hard for me to believe that behind all this thicket there is a villa preserved in perfect condition! I am an Urbex fan and I have seen destroyed, stolen, devastated and inhabited by homeless villas, castles, palaces and historic houses and what was left in them after all these guests, I have seen huge oak gates to castles chopped up, destroyed in order to get there, and here, even the windows are intact?! Congratulations, this beautiful villa with wonderful woodwork, tiles on the floors, shutters, everything is simply beautiful. The garden does not even resemble a garden, it is worth going there with a metal detector, maybe you will find some beautiful or antique objects, once abandoned and forgotten. Good luck and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

    Esta vez me ha encantado como has manejado este contenido , lo que planteas de aprender a admirar y no a envidiar es un mensaje bien valioso que muchos coterráneos deberían de aprender , el Comunismo por desgracia enseña mucho a envidiar y a criticar a la persona que logra cosas y que se enriquece porque su objetivo es criminalizar el progreso personal, salvo para los que dirigen y son parte de su élite . Me alegra saber que también enseñes el progreso que se puede lograr en un país capitalista que es digno de admirar!. Uno se esfuerza pero si no se amilana y corre con suerte y constancia cumple y logra sus metas . Bravo Anita !.

    Don't know what your plans are for the house, I watched you remove the food elevator. Just an idea, what about installing an elevator? There are kits that can be installed in small spaces. It will become useful to move things from floor to floor as well as for when there is someone with issues climbing the stairs. Best of luck
    The place is beautiful!!!

      Thank you for your kind words! It was a little food elevator from the basement to the ground floor. Unfortunately, we don't have a good place to install an elevator for people.. 😖 But it was a great idea, thanks for sharing!😊
