I been tryna find the exact words so that I can use it as the opening of one of my short waiting’s but I cannot find it. Literally the best poem that I’ve heard in a longggg while. Almost had me in literal tears.
I found this on tiktok watching a natural hair video and nearly died when the second I pressed search my Internet went out. Luckily it was out for just a split second. My room would be the room with the worst connection.
Tears!!! And more tears! Just seeing this episode and I’ve rewinded 5 times and am constantly crying. This is fire!! I need a t shirt and a recording as a ringtone lol

I’m Dominican and my mom is a very white Dominican but I’m dark skin and when I was little all I could think about is how much I wanted to be white and not black but now it’s very different

There are all shades of skin, hair, and eyes in God's kingdom, and we will spend eternity in fellowship and glorifying God together. That's awesome to see how much God is blessing you, Candace! 😊☕️
I’m over here in tears. I used to hate my skin thinking I was too black the whites would never want me but I’m too light so the blacks made fun of me but you’re right. I AM BEAUTIFUL! We all are. Every last shade of chocolate.
From the words, the stomps, the passion, the focus, the attire, the conviction. Like I don't even know how it's hard to love us at this point. I need to attend one course on "why we hate them so much and how to make it feel real."
Sorry y’all. Had to come back at 7:00 to watch it again lol these beautiful women are the embodiment of what it means to be a beautiful black role model in this community I’ll never be over it
I had to come find this after hearing it as background sound for a Bantu Knot tutorial. My soul haven't been spoken to like this since I saw Kai Davis "Fuck I Look Like" spoken word. This hits hard!

Omg...wow... this needs more views 🙌🏽 I want to collaborate and write with yall because as a poet and someone who grew up in the Deep South, a gay black man in a society and household that often made me feel less than... I can relate in some way. Colorism is a fight beyond racism. I have made it my mission to truly uplift black women in all shades "beautiful bold and bronze crowned in black gold"! ❤️ Maya Angelou is my greatest influence and whether it be song, spoken word or a poem... I truly believe your passion could bring life to my words 🙏🏽
When I was younger I always said I wanted to marry a white man not saying there’s anything wrong with that but I said it because I was ashamed of being black I use to wish my skin was light and I always straightened my hair damn near damaging it, when I went to school with braids I felt embarrassed around the other white kids and I still feel this every now and then. I was in a relationship with a white guy and I always felt like “why was he with me? A black girl”. It’s not rare that black girls feel this way, and that’s crazy I don’t think other races truly understand how African Americans especially black women feel/felt on the inside out themselves
PREACH MY BEAUTIFUL BLACK QUEEN!! Got damm right, YOU ARE EVERYTHING!!!
as a black girl this is the most inspiring thing i have ever heard
