finally a video that ACTUALLY explains the subtle shapes and lines of the face at EACH step. Thanks you for this video! I was struggling with a 3/4 view and this video not only showed how to add realism to a manga face but went in depth on the 3/4 view.

Mr. Crilley. You are an amazing artist and a man with strong passion. No one understands that your goofy jokes is your imagination bringing life into the characters you create and, apparently, not everyone appreciates the fact that you take time out of your day to put videos up to help others. I haven't drawn in years and your videos have revived my interest in art. Thank you.

All the major part of the shading and the realistic effect of the face was in time lapse :( I found it very difficult to recreate this manga face in the same manner you did... Is there anyway you could create a video with detailed instructions for beginners like me...? Especially the shading part and the final effect of the hair... please :(

mark crilley: take ordinary, simple line art and crank it into some of the most beautiful pencil work of all time. I also like that though, it really reinforces that the line art laid down correctly is the most important part. I watch these when I get ready to finish pencils on a page, helps me to keep in mind my focus and what I'm doing. Thanks Mark. Off to work!

Hi, Mr. Crilley! Your work is amazing! You are such an inspiration to beginning artists and artists who are looking to widen their skills. Your realism videos (such as the realistic eye one) really helped me when working with realism. Your first Mastering Manga book is really helpful as well, and I may buy the second book soon.
You should make more Realistic Manga videos like this one. I love this style and I'd love to learn how to draw it.
Thank you for continuing to make these videos! You are a huge help to artists everywhere!

The lenght of the longest lines is ±11 cm.

The eyes start in the middle of the head, most people put them too high. Between the eyes is a distance of one eye. The mouth is also about one eye wide, also the nose is one eye at the widest part. Height measurements are also measured in eyes. Eyebrows are about three eyes from the top and one eye down from that is the center line for the actual eyes. From that line, another 3 eyes is the bottom of the nose and one more to get the center of the mouth. Ears are 3 eyes high too

No homo, but i LOVE you. The way you draw, your style, your voice, your precision and modesty ^^
PS: I'm taking inspiration from this guy you draw, can I?

Awesome video! The only thing that kind of confused me was the guide line placement - it would be really nice if you could give us some preciser information about that :)!

Yeah I know right? I'm not a big fan of how mascara feels, but it makes a difference when you find a good one that feels light and comes off easily.

I would love it if you made a video about guide lines. I find it so much easier and (for my drawing) more correctly proportional looking. It would mean a lot. Thank you for this video.
