These guys are going to have to start selling full bike builds- with these prices, uncertain after sale support, cost of bike building etc, they’re pretty much same with Canyon. They aren’t the budget option
This model is trying to compete with the S-works SL8 frame, was tested in a wind tunnel, comes with handlebars, and a choice of offset with the seat post for $3,000 USD. An s-works frame is $5,500 USD without handlebars and the Roval Rapide handlebars are $600. Even if you go with a more "budget" integrated carbon bar, that's still going to cost around $300-$450 USD. I'd say this bike is very comparable.
@@_gregvalencia you make valid points, but also, the western brands have always claimed the cost of their bikes is also increased because of pro team sponsorships, dealer markups, marketing costs etc things the far east brands don’t spend as much on if at all. @@_gregvalenciabro, frame + seat post + handle bar in China actually only costs 12000 rmb or 1800 usd for seka spear basic version and 2500 usd for their refined RDC version, I'd say this pricing is indeed very competitive.
It just needs time to build reputation, just like winspace, but once it has its reputation, it won't be cheap. so for ppl know what they really want, this could be a bargain, otherwise, stay with the big brand.
I think what you want is affordable high-end bikes, otherwise, GC Performance here could point you to many model and brands of bikes that are actually affordable, but that's not what you want.
For the price seem better off with a Tarmac SL8 frame. Not saying the Tarmac would perform any better than the Seka, but it would hold more resale value a few years down the line so I could upgrade to a new bike
I think the value is that you're getting an s-works level frame with handlebars for $500 cheaper than the specialized pro level frame without handlebars. And the roval Rapide handlebars are $600. You could obviously get cheaper bars but it's still a competitive price. Assuming Seka stays around, I don't think the resale would be bad. But also, are people really selling their bikes to upgrade? I thought the idea was always n+1 haha
I just weighed a tarmac sl8 pro in the gloss white color in a size 56 it weighed in at 870 with hanger and water bolts, I think your matte color is lighter for sure
Should get one of those car detailing guys in Miami to come over and measure the thickness of the paint job. That metallic paint must have real metal in it.
$2740.00 for the frame and handlebar cockpit is $412.00 for a Chinese bike? I don’t know. If you try to resell it you will only get about a $1000. Just guessing. I rather have a Van Rysel or pay a little more and get a SL8. (Build it with SRAM).

Like my Trek SLR frame with thick paint in size 58 cm weight is 900 grams for $4,000 dollars with fork. Yes I said before if I had the resources I would be sue happy!!
@@jameseastwood402 not buying that!!! I've in the business for a long time. Back 20-30 years ago they would have a painted frame on a scale in size 54 or 56 cm. Weigh common size with 1 color paint! Very simple to do. If I ever get my way I would get a lawyer ( 100-250 grams) is unacceptable for the Money they charge!
I calculated it to be 850g paint 100g and 30g for every size bigger than the small. The fork is way heavyer than expected. If you weigh identical bikeparts it is always big differences. Tyres is like 30g difrence in 28mm and the lighter ones probably roll beter to.
Great looks and apparently very good quality with these frames. The cost is way too high for a company without any domestic support. These frames are hard to get in the US and the company seems to have little interest in selling here. Waits are on the order of months to get one and who knows what will happen if you need support in a year or two. A complete build with this frame will likely cost more than a Canyon Aeroad or Ultimate, about the same as a TCR or Propel and slightly less than an SL8 or Super Six. It makes no sense. IMO, if this brand wants to succeed in the US it needs to be both significantly cheaper than Canyon and significantly better and this isn't. To me, the Winspace or Tavelo options make a lot more sense if you want to go Chinese direct.
Too bad Seka has horrible customer service. I’ve tried reaching out to them on all their social media accounts and website about how I can get this frameset delivered to North America. I haven’t gotten one reply over the last couple months.

With no ability to tell romantic stories of its history with black and white pictures, no presence in popular professional races, no hotshots riding their bikes, and having the significant advantage of cheap domestic labour, it looks like the company is banking on popular YT channels to push its bikes in the west and justify its prices. I bet a lot of R&D went into this very pretty Spear and that it's very well built. At this price, however, I want to be told that the founder was a poor farmer in the 1920s who got tired of transporting his crops with his rickety old bicycle, and decided to build something faster, and that after he built his own faster bike, started to sell them to all the surrounding farmers, who later started local races in the countryside, developing SEKA into what it is today, being ridden by China's best in (insert pro race name). Without that, not even a channel as great as GCP will sway me in paying that much for a Chinese bike. Anyone wanna make bets on how long SEKA will take to steal my fairytale for use as its own?

Yea it’s nothing to worry about and seka is a company that they insert the bb threads in after frame is assembled and face the threads after completion. There is no issue. I have no idea why they sent the wrong one.
Love the channel buddy but not not keen at all on this frame and fork etc.. back end looks like Pinarello copy of Dogma x or pinarello x frames.. just my opinion though glad you like it. Pete 👍
fair enough but I love this bike I think the wind eye is something new that no companies are ddoing and it really does look amazing in person, I think once built you will have a different outcome or at least maybe I can persuade you lol
I'd rather build a top end bike with this Kinda frame, a LTWOO or EDS groupset, and some nice Lun, CRW or No.6 wheels than having a mid range brand bike for arund the same money (5 to 6k USD) This kinda build would definitely be in that 6 to 6,5kg weight range. Amazing value for money considering this could easily compete with any Dogma F, SL8 type of bike🔥🔥🔥
Likes 1. Round steerer tube 2. Cockpit choices 3. Weight, it is more then they state but it’s still way under 1000g and very competitive with the the USA company’s 4. Colors If this was a new tarmac sl9 riders would happily pay 6k for this frameset at this weight cuz it would be an sworks.under 3k with a cockpit (with your dimension choice is amazing).
And another One! 470g for the fork and 820g for the frame is not light, 370g for the handlebar and under 150g for the seatpost is very light but what is all that mean? all the bikes feature here are nice, properly build and ridden on flat FL roads, maybe GC should send the bikes to serious riders who can properly test them share their findings.

Lifetime warranties don't come free. Great price if it lives up to the marketing. Is the stack measured to the bare head tube or to the top of the integrated headset adapter?
@@tommyfreckmann6857 this company is offering a lifetime warranty. Warranties cost money and that cost is baked into the retail price of the frame. Hence why this brand cost more than other far east companies. Why do you think all the big Western brands charge a premium? Because they have a generous warranty and crash replacement programs.
@naf2579 gotcha. But, Trek is great bc I know owners who got a free replacement in a crash and the frame models were 10+ years old. Seka is different with their warranty, they don't cover crashes, only very limited items such as manufacturer defects and paint. So, not even comparable to some other brands.
@@tommyfreckmann6857 true. If they were to offer that exact coverage then that same frame would probably cost quite a bit more. Gotta weigh having piece of mind with a great warranty or save money up front and hope you never crash.
200g paint is totally normal. That's comparative with the sl8. Not really heavy at all. The fork on the otherhand is quite weighty. Note that the hardware is also super lightweight. Build it up identically to your sl8 and do a complete build weight comparison.
Why would one buy a chinese bike frame if one can get a Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, Scott for more or less similar price with a proven bike frame design and far superior customer support warranty
The idea to be something different, I know it sounds dumb but there is a market for a consumer who has premium money who does not want to ride what everyone is riding and wants something with a little more character and stands out a little more. and dont let them think there marketing is all smoke and mirrors, aerocoach is a respectful company they do insane wind tunnel testing so they got th eright team to help them with the frame, the bike looks great on paper

$3000 for a Chinese frameset.... they have officially left the niche behind that made Chinese frames so popular. How much of that $3000 fee is to cover the SIlverstone wind tunnel testing? Roundness shouldn't be an issue on a threaded bottom bracket because it's a machined metal insert
Yea it’s nothing to worry about and seka is a company that they insert the bb threads in after frame is assembled and face the threads after completion. There is no issue. I have no idea why they sent the wrong one.
Would love the live measured weight to compare of a sl8 s-works and a normal pro
I will rather buy an established name brands like Specialised SL8 or canyon frame with proper crash replacement policy.
and this is your choice and you have th eoiption to do so but more companies who make products to compete are always good for consumers
always love ur humor haha
Hahaha thank you :)
Love the Silver metalic color. Like the canyon ultimate cf sl😍
I am hyped for the review
I’ve exactly the same frame in the post !!! And can’t wait!!
But can’t quite decide to pair it up with a crw 5060 or the 6567 …
What is your opinion
Think you should also consider the No.6. The width on those wheels beat out the CRW
@@cornelhughes this are too wide in my taste
@@Ingrimmsch91I agree, they are too wide. And it's just parts from Farsports.
But how deep 🤔🤔
How tall are you? Im 6 2 and not sure if LR or XL frame size… What do you think? (Im 36 and want to something more race than my Domane in size 60)
We all wanted to ride Seka back in the day.😅
hahaha
Warranty no good without a dealer network.
Canyon just as bad having to ship back to Germany 👎
they have massive dealer network in the eastern side alot of shops sell them, they are trying to branch out over here in the united states
@GCPerformance18 I get it Grant, I'm in UK though and that won't happen here, we have like 2 winspace dealers and hundreds of Giant 👍
Awesome colour.
I think so too!
what is the weight difference between a sl8 frame 54 vs 56
minimal, I dont know exact but it fluxgates
Where to buy it? I don t find any link for France
Message them from their website or instagram.
We're with you Grant! Love the channel. Prioritize that newborn baby of yours and your sweet wife! Bikes can come later :)
That's the plan!
real bargain 900 dollars frame for 2.500
I'd rather build a top end bike with this Kinda frame, a LTWOO or EDS groupset, and some nice Lun, CRW or No.6 wheels than having a mid range brand bike for arund the same money (5 to 6k USD) This kinda build would definitely be in that 6 to 6,5kg weight range. Amazing value for money considering this could easily compete with any Dogma F, SL8 type of bike🔥🔥🔥
Likes
1. Round steerer tube
2. Cockpit choices
3. Weight, it is more then they state but it’s still way under 1000g and very competitive with the the USA company’s
4. Colors
If this was a new tarmac sl9 riders would happily pay 6k for this frameset at this weight cuz it would be an sworks.under 3k with a cockpit (with your dimension choice is amazing).
yea I think they hit the ball out of the park with this frame
Looks like GC needs to get out the paint stripper to hit a target weight
I always thought that would be a fun build video, strip it down and gloss over raw carbon
So, still lightweight frame on market made Specialized Aethos S-Works only 565g for 56cm. Release date 2022!😅
My chameleon paint Tantan is only like 80g more for $700 or so lol. These premium Chinese brands are focused on the Chinese market.
that aint bad
Can you buy the Frame Unpainted?😊
Grant thanks for this video. Hoping to get one in about 5 weeks time. Looking forward to not only your build video, but ride review
What wheels do u installing ?
Right on!

Frame looks sick💪💪
I’m guessing this has been asked thousands of times but how tall are you for sizing
I am 6 foot but this aggressive size
And another One! 470g for the fork and 820g for the frame is not light, 370g for the handlebar and under 150g for the seatpost is very light but what is all that mean? all the bikes feature here are nice, properly build and ridden on flat FL roads, maybe GC should send the bikes to serious riders who can properly test them share their findings.
light fast holds speed well, compliant, the list goes on and on..... I have been in the bike business for too long and have been sold on new bikes every year by manufacturers, I can tell you everything people will say on the bike
The New Seka Spear has me shocked also. Watched only 1.17 minutes untill I heared the price.
lmfao it is a premium bike competing against all the other companies out there, ocmpanies have to start somewhere
@@GCPerformance18you’ll say anything to shill a bike hahaha. This is a relatively unknown Chinese brand that is charging SL8 prices… no marketing, no world tour sponsorship, no international exposure or distribution centre… come on mate.
@@GCPerformance18 Be realistic. If you build this bike with a Dura Ace Di2 groupset and a premium set of carbon wheels and saddle the build price would be between 7,500 and 8,000 USD without profit. Needless to say that the bicycle is impossible to sell in the current bicycle market.
Lifetime warranties don't come free. Great price if it lives up to the marketing.
Is the stack measured to the bare head tube or to the top of the integrated headset adapter?
Can you elaborate on the warranty comment?
"Rapier" is a type of sword...
well thank you for the clarification
My vote for Szram Red and Exs granfondo wheels👌👌👌
I’m thinking sram red as well
Don’t they claim weight with size small or so. They probably state that somewhere
I did not see a size anywhere but still that is a big weight from sizes
Great Audio quality! Love the not noticeable white noise on the left side lol
Complain much?
explosiom was worth 10,000 dollars pay the editor more
I realized I was bamboozled, I fired him
200g paint is totally normal. That's comparative with the sl8. Not really heavy at all. The fork on the otherhand is quite weighty.
Note that the hardware is also super lightweight. Build it up identically to your sl8 and do a complete build weight comparison.
yea I think this build is still going to be super light once done
The 685g is the size small
Why would one buy a chinese bike frame if one can get a Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, Scott for more or less similar price with a proven bike frame design and far superior customer support warranty
The idea to be something different, I know it sounds dumb but there is a market for a consumer who has premium money who does not want to ride what everyone is riding and wants something with a little more character and stands out a little more. and dont let them think there marketing is all smoke and mirrors, aerocoach is a respectful company they do insane wind tunnel testing so they got th eright team to help them with the frame, the bike looks great on paper
@@GCPerformance18 I get your point and agree that there is a market for something uniquely designed bike. I wish to see lore of their expertise in aero testing and how they build their frames. Right now Winspace is very well established itself in the market and I hope other Chinese brands do the same or better to establish trust.
they all are chaina made
Because Trek,Spezialised and Cannondale is shite. Have been sponsored by 2 of the brands. Really boring to ride, and low quality. Also to many spesial parts.
Hi GC performance
Gorgeous looking frame set. The frame weight was a big surprise for the price 😮 ultegra 12 speed di2 group set with some sub 1300 gram carbon wheels to match the frame 👍🚴♂️.
Great video as always 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ll stay with Enve 😎
enve is nice
685g they said, weigh it 880g 195g difference 😂😂😂 Jeeze, whos buying into this? There is literally no excuse. Red flag.
$3k for a "new" company frameset is mad IMO
well they are not new new, they have been around for over 5 years, but obviously if you have not heard of them it is going to be new to you
Now i have De rosa Proto chain drop damage the bottom bracket .That frameset must be extremely fragile. Nope, not for me weighing at 685 grams and made in China Hell No !
no it is not this is the target weight from all the bike companies out there
What's the TRUE tire clearance?
it says 32s so I am guessing you can squeeze a bulging 34
so stoked for this video, been planning to build one of these up this winter
I wish the whole bike was just that silver!
im in love with this color I think it is one of the best looking bikes ihave seen in along time
Say what you want, I'll die before riding a bike with the name of an Australian corn superstar
hahahaha the ups driver said this to us when we droppped it off
😂😂"mystery hole"😅
lmfao
I wonder who is buying these frames for the mentioned price. Crazy. I'd go for SL8 or SL7.
+200g I mean come on…
I had a choice of seatpost length on mine. Surprised you didn't!
well we talked about it and they asked me and i specifed it that i wanted 380 and 0 offset but maybe because it was not an order form and I was dealing with a person it got slipped through the cracks
Muy bonito el cuadro, la horquilla algo pesada y el cuadro un poco, manillar muy buen peso y la tija buen peso.
looks nice but hard pass 👎🏻
That handlebar name is a bit suspect
Lmao I know, that’s why I was shocked when I read it
Inside Seka
gaped holes
@@GCPerformance18 😮 🤣 It’s a classic and one of the films that boosted the industry at that time.
came for the explosion, left seeing a pretty frame and still wanting for the explosion!
They can't fulfill orders. What's the point?
I hjeard they have good stock right now but they are working on customer service
@GCPerformance18 what you hear is not what the real.world reflects
Should have ordered a raw carbon frame? If it was an option...
but I was so drawn to this color I love it
No explosion 💥
dammit!!!!!!!!!
Shimano all day!
Chinese frames that cost the same as reputable western brands makes no sense to me
im thinking sram red I love the new group on there
It’s not expensive compared to a Specialized SL8 Pro. They’ve done the R&D, had it validated from a 3rd party expert in the wind tunnel. It’s good as any other top of the line big brand frame. Super impressive!
Yep and the competition for the RDC is the 5500 Sworks. The 5500 does not include handlebar which runs you 600 for an (roval)integrated one. The price I have been for the non rdc version is 2500 and that includes integrated handlebar. This is almost half the price of a SL8 Pro with integrated handlebar. Yes Tarmac will hold its value more, however based on what you have to pay upfront, considering the value of money, its not worth it Recently saw a used Sworks SL8 on Ebay sold for 3600 (that's about 1900 off the initial price new a year ago)
Sorry this thing is DOA. Tell me why I should take the risk, not to mention forget about resale value. The fact the the weight is way off just gives people more ammunition. The price that most are willing to take a risk is 1500
@@kimwarner6050 how much you think you would be able to sell a used SL8 frameset for? Recently saw a listing on ebay (2024 Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 Frameset 54 Gloss Carbon/Viavi Maganta Gold). It was sold for 3600. Think you know that's 1900 less than the 5500 listed on specialized website for it new
Die the seat post accept oval rails ??
yes it does, those type accept any kind of rails
What about Chinese gravel frames? What do you think we should buy?
I like yoeleo to be hoenst i got to ride them it was really nice
Great job as usual. Sram would be Nice for sure. And take a break of UA-cam youre allowed man. Cheers!
lol I know I just like to show off the items I get I love this stuff as much as everyone and I enjoy to ride it in my freetime
$3000 for a Chinese frameset.... they have officially left the niche behind that made Chinese frames so popular.
How much of that $3000 fee is to cover the SIlverstone wind tunnel testing?
If a bike isnt being used by pro teams, wind tunnel testing is pointless and is an uneccessary marketing tool that pushing up the price.
For $3000, I'd wait until X-Lab frames are released to the Western market and see what price point they come in at because Cav was just recently seen a the XDS factory so Im sure info will be coming out soon.
but there frames were always around this price and they sold they had the model called the exceed that looked like a factor around 2500 and people bought thatg so much
