Dan Dan Di Di Dan Dan = little by little, or step by step. This is all about covid & how they weren't allowed to tour & play in front of a live audience. ❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

The song is about being unleashed from Covid (5x exclamation marks - one for each maid). There are a lot of hidden references and tropes in the video. In the beginning each member is trapped in a past video
    Saiki in Sense
Akane in Don't You Tell Me
    Kanami in Alone
    MISA in Dice
    Miku in Thrill
plus band tropes - MISA drinking whiskey and a hipflask on her garter, Kanami in love with Saiki etc
When it transitions out of the anime the band are depressed until Saiki gets them playing again and the fans are watching online as they can't tour.
It transitions into the Sailor Moon reference (Saiki is a big fan) where they blow away the Covid clouds and are Unleashed!!!!!

Thx Kawai Davey, you're right. The Maids are depressed at first when they realise they're back in the real world & still unable to tour trapped under the dark cloud of Covid. But they're uplifted by their fans worldwide watching on line....🤔 So i don't really know why i said all that cos you already said it.🤣

The “Unleash!!!!!” anime seems to show the black cloud of covid enveloping the world and depressing the F out of everyone, including B-M members, who'd fought against their cancelled tours, including a Budokan concert, by performing live and streaming the concerts worldwide (bless them for that). The Little Pigeon seems to energise the band to keep playing this way for now...but then a second wave of darkness appears and even Miku can't get everyone together again. Then it seems that Saiki becomes the strong centre for the band and, while all except Saiki look lost as the live shots start, the other members seem to be inspired by how Saiki keeps fighting through and this energises the other band members to start playing again, with people around the world watching on various screens. Then, for the final piece of anime, the ladies use their spaceship to blast away the covid cloud and save the world. Or it all means something else entirely!

    KIller Mate!
Greetings from under a snow-capped Mount Fuji on an unsually bright winter day!
Dan dan di dan dan: dan dan basically means "more, more", the "di" is only there help with the rhythm. By saying "dan dan di dan dan", they mean that they must move forward against whatever evil forces they face and must break. In this @articular case the dark forces of evil were the Covid pandemic that prevented them from directly communicating with their fans.
Their appearance in persons midway showed their growing sadness, fear an helplessness but Saiki and Miku take on the fight followed by their sisters by first singing with renewed power and then appear as anime to fight and win for the world!
Actually, it is not the first time they composed music for anime. That could be in the offing for a full anime movie!
Another performance related to anime to react to is their instrumental rendition of "Dawn Winery Theme" at: ua-cam.com/video/pgwPbo4eoGM/v-deo.html
    Emotion guaranteed!
    Best regards,
    Robert-Gilles (Martineau)

Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their new “AniMaid” (anime) Covid-fighting MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! As Maidiacs report: Maid Music will continue to dominate the world until everyone succumbs in ecstasy to its brilliant and undeniable forces!!!!! 💥🎀💥 Thx, Killer!

Don't we all wish that was a real series. I love the BAND-MAID themes in it. When they do the Sailor Moon Transformation into Super Hero characters and drive the Darkness away from the Unseen World. Awesome! I hope we get at least one more of these like they did with BAND-MAIKO. It deserves a sequel.

Past, present, future - animated when in their imagination (reminiscing of past and hoping/awaiting future). Real life for present time/very recent past (at the time) when Saiki took the lead and pushed management for them to do online concerts.
I'm lead to believe Dan Dan didi Dan Dan means gradually or little by little... they probably didn't translate as this is a would be sing along bit.
Been lots of discussion about this video ... over several days when it came out, so that's all you're getting from me! :)

The overlying theme is their battle with Covid and being able to "Unleash" themselves back into live performances. You are right the MV is littered with easter eggs, ranging from Saiki's *Yaeba to Akane's love of Bananas, Misa's hip flask, Miku's pigeon taking flight, Kanami's love for Saiki and so much more.
*Yaeba :- In Japan, yaeba are human teeth, especially upper canines, with an uncommonly fang-like appearance. Highly prized and not to be looked down on☺

They're in the Southeast and Midwest in May with Houston and Austin as outliers. (My gut feeling is Mexico gigs @ the beginning of May. The Warning is in Houston on May 13 and Band-Maid on May 14.)

Huh. You *look* like you should be old enough to at least know what "Doo Wop" or "Acapella" is. It's not that complicated. They are just vocalizing notes/tones in a sing-song fashion, like has been done in literally thousands of songs over the years. The voice is also a musical instrument.

    • @Killermcknight
      @Killermcknight  Рік тому

@@Killermcknight "A cappella" translates literally as "of the chapel" and refers to unaccompanied singing in church. The style is probably 16th century or before, the term was used in the baroque era 17th or 18th century. "Doo wop" is street-corner singing from the '40s and '50s. The style is similar to "barbershop" but from American inner cities. Poor teenagers without instruments would sing on the street corners or on the stoop of their house, under bridges or in stairwells where there was an echo. It has roots in spirituals and gospel songs, and uses a lot of "nonsense" syllables, similar to "scat". I'm just looking at the Wikipedia entry and apparently the term comes from 1955 "doo wop" in "When You Dance", or "do wop de wadda" in "Mary Lee", or 1956 "doo-wop doo-wah" in "In the Still of the Night". It was prominent in the big cities like New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago. Simon and Garfunkel started as a doo-wop group. I'm old and this was before _my_ time ... but I love music from all eras so I've listened it before. For a good time, search for "Rama Lama Ding Dong" by The Edsels.

@@Killermcknight A second reply to say, don't skip their latest MV "from now on." It's an instrumental set on a darkened sound stage so not a lot of razzle-dazzle; just outstanding music. "Unleash!!!!!", "Influencer", and "from now on" are all from their EP "Unleash". There are other songs without videos that are pretty awesome too; especially "Hate?" with Saiki-penned lyrics.
