- Archaeology is the new secondary profession introduced with Classic Cataclysm, and from it you can get some of the strongest items in the game, like Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds or the Staff of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan. In this Archeology Leveling Guide we're gonna see how to level Archeology as quickly and as efficiently as possible and guarantee getting those awesome items on the way.

hit level 300 with max dwarf/troll fragments, then go to outland to finish leveling, the sites are so close and only 2 types means you can craft stuff quickly, then at 450 go back to dwarf/troll spots if you want the sword/staff
I found that after 300, it was fastest to stay in Outland until I hit 450. There are only two groups to collect from, Orcs and Draenei. I was able to complete more items that way. Now that I have maxed out to 450, I am loading up to 200 fragments for each race to get a jump on 525 when it comes out.

So basically. Solve everything for the other races except the race you wsnt that drops the item you want, in which case collect all frags for that race till capped, then go bsck and do other races, solve the other races till you get to 450, then once at 450, start solving as many trolls as possible. Is this correct?

not going to outland is a wrong call. outland is much smaller and the dig sides are way closer to each other which makes leveling up archeology MUCH faster from 300 to 425.
You wanna do EK or Kalimdor so u get the solves for the rares in the faction u wanna farm later done while lvling.
Might be slightly slower to 450 but u save loads of time at 450.
@@Slashresto the only relevant rares u wanna farm now are the epics and those cant be discovered before 450. the relics you can store are capped at 200 which are very easy to get before reaching out to outland. wasting your time on azeroth makes no sense at all. outland is more than twice as fast btw, not "slightly"
@@Schon1Kevini think you misunderstood, if you solve the other rares from the faction while leveling you can’t get them again later on. You are basicly «blocking» them for when you get 450 and can get the ones you need.
@@silentd3708 Can you elaborate? So if I wanted Dwarf for the staff and I spammed a bunch of dwarf solves to level, all of the Dwarf rewards I got then would be blocked for when I was 450 making me more likely to get the staff?

Hello thank you for this quick guide. I was intrigued when i saw a Tauren Warrior with the Zin'rokh on his lvl 80 transmogged on 02.05.2024 aka yesterday at like 21:00 . Is that a bug or does this really "only" take about 48 hours to acquire? pre patch came 01.05.2024.
Most likely transmogged the one from ZG raid

There is people getting the epic 85 level items since the first 24 hours but its rng based so its just luck you can do 1000 solves whiout a epic item or you can do 10 at 450 and get the item
@@joakon5594 I see, took a screenshot and after some Googeling the old model and apparently the new Zin'rokh got a different curve at the end, seems he had the Cata version.
Yes it is possible my guildy got it in less than 60 solves from troll and i got the shield from fossil in 35 solves at 450 arch.
outlands is bis for leveling the proffesion. go at 300
So basically i want to have the 2h sword of the troll race. When i‘m leveling and have like 200/35 i should start crafting some things of that race and than collect again until level 450? Or should i also craft thing from other races
You can get the sword now so craft away. Also you "need" to craft for other races since you need to remove digsides from other races so that more trolls spawn. You cannot go over 200. If you have 200 you cannot even loot the relics any longer and they do not go away.
If you want as much troll as possible I suggest eastern kingdoms.

@@TheLegendx3 I'd say craft away: Allways when you have the reliques. And if you are around 170. You do not want to overcap on frags. Yes just grind through on Eastern Kingdoms.
My question is in phase 2 and more cata do you get more bis or is that a one time thing for early game?

that goes for any item, you can get it 1 time per character.
Question, do you have to be level 85 and 525 arch to be able to find the epics?
no, you can find them at 450 arch and any lvl as long as arch skill is up

If you have not gotten zin rokh in 96 troll solves at 450 do you just uninstall or do you jump off a bridge? This Wasnt covered in the video

Yeah, so it DOES matter which character you do this on, as you should ALWAYS level Arch on your alchemist, since Vial of the Shifting Sands is the only non-account-bound epic reward. =0)

If you don't have reliques and are around 170 craft anyway. Most people (at least on my server) have or do not want to spend so much money on reliques and you do not get enough.
It is reported that you can get epics even with skill level one but I got mine with 450 so I cannot confirm that. But even without that still craft because you knock out other rares or epics out of the pool.
If you have one specific item in mind choose an optimal continent for it. E.g Trolls -> Eastern Kingdoms. Nightelfs -> Kalimdor.
I got the fossilized raptor mount at level 300
I had 8/8 troll dig sites and no way to solved other races at 200 skill level. So i had to do 1st troll and I immefiatelly got some rare troll solve after. Does that mean im screwed and hope for forcing zinrokh at 450 are gone?
Zin'rokh is more likely 0,7% and not 7% and even 0,7% is to high...
The 7% is for proccing it as your first rare after hitting 450 if you never had a troll rare before. The chance of getting it random is even lower than 0,7%.
There's no way Tyrande's is 4%. I'm at 390 crafts so far and nothing.

Not good lol, you can get a few 100 gold solves but thats about it. Deffinetly not worth it to use this as a gold farm

So many youtubers have jumped on the never craft without a keystone scam.
A keystone is just 12 fragments. You will never have so many you will regret not using them and they can sell for several hundred gold a piece.
What's worth more 2 surveys or 300g?
yeah man i feel you! im almost 450 Archeology rn, sold all my keystones along the way and have made like 7k+ profit. Paying 300g to save 2 surveys worth of time is ludicrous in my opinion.
The prices of those keystones are gonna drop very fast the more people reach 450. We make video guides with the intent that people are gonna watch them all throughout the expansion, not just during prepatch.
Even if the price will drop which is the opposite of what happened in original cataclysm once people hit max level and the supply dropped, your advice is still bad.
Each keystone is 12 fragments but has the added bonus of being able to go over the cap and be traded. They will always be worth more than the 12 fragments they save you.

Actually what this movie is missing, is more focus on ways to speed it up, like mentioning portals that you might not know about, or have forgotten, like the portal in dalaran to CoT, the portal in main cities to the DP, and lastly mention dwarf(racial for more frags) mage(portals) engineer(portals) as god tier archaologiest.
Is there an add on (like gather) that will show where fragments are?
questie shows the dig sites and once youve found something once itll mark that spot and the spots are limited so eventually you see all potential spots
i have over 300 solves in trolls and no epic so i would not say it is 7% for sure

Can confirm you do not need 450 skill to get epics. I got the epic helm from the orc fossils at 385 skill and the fossilized raptor mount from the generic fossils at 395 skill.
Can you get 359 epics in pre patch?
Yes,but you can only use epic when you reach lvl 85

This UA-cam video is complete and utter bull guys. UA-camrs just wanna pump out videos these days for money and views whilst giving out misinformation.
The chances of getting the sword from Troll tunes are the same chance of getting the Staff from the Dwarf. Not 7% and 3%. Also they are MUCH lower chances. They’re extremely rare, you will likely have to be surveying consistently for hours a day for weeks for them to drop.
The other rares have a much higher chance of appearing, the rares all have their own (spawn rate). Once you get a rare it does not affect the spawn rate of the other rares, it just knocks it off the table for later, so it’s worth only levelling in EK because you still want to get these other ones unlocked as they cost way more to unlock
The best advice is to do this on a Druid for instant flight, or a mage for blink. Keep runes for the one you are farming, and sell all other runes so keep your gold from not being emptied.

this is totally wrong on the drop chance mate. there is no higher or lower chance for wich race u play. the only difference is dwarves wich will receive more fragments for each dig up to 12. get ur facts right before making shitty misinformation like this
