Sanqor is the center of Sanqar city in Kermanshah province. This city is located in a resort area, 85 km northeast of Kermanshah and 95 km west of Hamedan. Sanghar city has a cool summer and mountain climate due to its location in the Zagros mountain range, for this reason, it has a seasonal population that is It increases in spring and summer. Dalakhani mountain is located in the southwest of Sanghar and welcomes climbers from all over the country who climb its heights every year. The mountains around Sanghar are home to many wildlife and diverse plant species, which have recreational and tourism values.
Denomination
The current name "Sangar" was given to this city during the reign of "Atabak Sanghar", who became the governor of this city during the Seljuk period. Today, the residents of Sanghar call their city "Sangur".
Also, many believe that the name "Sangar" is derived from the name of a kind of hunting bird.
In pre-Islamic historical sources, this city is mentioned with the name of Mazpahrag (Madpehle). In the post-Islam era, the pronunciation of this word became Maynehrah or Maynehrahj. This name is made from two components Mad/May/Mayen/Mayan and Pahle. In the present era, the name of Mad and Mayan is still applied to Mayankoh mountain, at the foot of which the city of Sangar is located. The word Pahle is also left in the name of the region and tribe of Fahelekoori.
The people of Sanghar speak the Turkish language with the Sanghar dialect and the Southern Kurdish language with the Kaliai dialect. The people of the surrounding villages are mostly engaged in agriculture or animal husbandry. According to the general population and housing census in 2015, the population of Sanghar was 44,256 people (13,996 households).
Geography
The city of Sungar and Koliyai is located in a flat plain and is surrounded by rivers, meadows, gardens and groves and the mountains of Dalakhani (meaning the nest of eagles), Mount Madian; It is covered with yellow waist, boswar, male and female, and is covered with winter snow until the end of summer.
There are many gardens around the city of Sanghar, one can mention the Ochdirman gardens, the organic garden complex of Sohanle village, Sarab Sanghar and many other gardens that have given a special beauty to Sanghar.

Its roar is at the foot of the mountain, and also a limestone cave at the foot of Dalakhani mountain, which was recently discovered and with an access depth of 150 meters, which can be considered as one of the 5 vertical caves of Iran, is considered one of the most important sightseeing spots and attractions of Sanghar.
