    Great review. I’ve had mine now nearly 6 months and it’s up there as being one of the best and most fun cars I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned Ferrari, Maserati,Mercedes Amg Gtr, Porsche and Mclaren etc. Absolutely love it.

      Most cars don’t experience any issues until you get to the 60k+ miles range. I certainly would hope you haven’t had any issues with only 22k miles.
      I’ve driven an fpace svr and it’s absolutely obnoxious. I thought it was a great all around car it handled so well. Very easy to get it sideways, but still very manageable. I’m still deciding if I want to get an m340i or one of these.

    Great review. I purchased a 2023 F-Pace SVR in largely the same spec this May (to replace 2021 BMW X6), after loving the 2023 F-Type P450 I purchased last year so much. Now have best of both worlds. The F-Pace is beauty and the beast - luxurious interior, style and ride when you want it, then almost sports car level performance - and awesome highway cruiser. To address all the JLR nay sayers, have been very happy with their reliability and service from my local dealer (Jaguar Hunt Club in Ottawa).

    I have an SVR 2023 too, after an F-Type R since 2016. Both cars are really beautiful for as its own, but the SVR have more features for a daily practice. Ok, it is not my daily car, there some others in my carpool at home, but every day I‘am happy to buy this car. It is comfortable, sporty if you want, enough space in the roof, luxury interieur and it don‘t look like Mercedes, Audi and Porsche .. It have an own design character in the Group like the F-Type.

    I understand that JLR do a lot of track work with their higher performance variants, at their own test track and also at the Nurburgring, and also think they had a Ford (from memory) chassis guy come onboard around 2 years ago, maybe that was to late to make input into the the facelift F Pace, but I know the guy did some tweaking on the new Range Rover Sport on the damper setup. I guess that is all good and the track work explains to some extent why it handles so well. Not sure whether I'd get this or the Macan if I was looking for this type of car, I'd have to try both.

    One shot where you drift for the camera on a b road you’d have to know the road well and have good sight lines as these are wide cars. Wondering if it was intentional not to include Alfa Stelvio Quad, marginally shorter but otherwise a better comparison than the big heavy German metal.

      Its not just a JLR problem it's a keyless entry problem, there are some simple steps you can take, add a steering wheel lock, a Faraday bag for your keys, a Ghost 11 immobiliser, i could go on but I get that when you paying upward of 80k for a vehicle you want it to be secure. Those items I mentioned would cost you £140 for the steering wheel lock, £500 for the Ghost 11, and a few quid for a Faraday bag, a small price to pay to protect a 85k investment. 👍

    • @denperrydidit
      @denperrydidit 8 місяців тому +2

      It's not an investment is it the way the depreciation hits. Also, shouldn't have to spend a penny on security after spending £85k on one.

    You need flick the gear shift into “S” as well as select Dynamic, then it’s even more rapid and gets the most out the Project 8 gearbox. I can get 30 (just) on a proper motorway run, but can get to low double digits on the proper twisty stuff. Anything with a super charger is going to be bad round town for MPG, but am fortunate to live in a more rural area and very rarely do city driving. Brilliantly, it’s ULEZ compliant 😂

    • @Dr_MattS
      @Dr_MattS 9 місяців тому

      Ps you can fiddle with the settings to choose whether shifters work in all drive modes or just S, so you don’t necessarily need to pull it into S to go into manual mode.

    • @aadderr8364

      Ive managed 27mpg but haven’t done much motorway driving in it. 30mpg is really good tbh. Its a thirsty beast around town but its worth it (luckily lol).
      I can get 32mpg in my f type if i keep it in 8th gear manual mode that’s still doing “70+” average.
      ULEZ just keeps on giving doesn't it, a real mastermind and man of the people came up with that policy

    I have a 1988 Edition and agree with the review, i think its great all rounder. For such a big car its very surprising and fun to drive - its handling really is a star - balance between everyday vs more sporty driving. I have a f type r awd and the way the f pace handles makes you scratch your head at how it does it but with a very big grin - you expect the f type / a two seater sports car to handle well but not necessarily a 2t SUV.

    ridiculous things - 'performance' SUV reviews are focused entirely on how well teams of engineers have reduced the compromise that this type of vehicle creates. It's insane! Let's make a heavy and tall car, style it so that it doesn't look that way (ie. create a piss-poor interior package) then add a shed-load of expensive hardware to make it handle about as well as a 90s hot-hatch. fucking ludicrous! 😆

      I’ll just say this, If you are rich enough to buy a Ferrari as your sports car and a large Range Rover as your SUV then good for you. Not everyone is. Some people want a beast of a car that is also somewhat practical. This is where a sports suv comes into play.
