My history with Sonic was sorta of an arc from young to old so settle down cause this could go deep! Anywho I noticed first when I was little mostly though Sonic X and Sonic Chronicles for the DS. I also saw some videos relating to Sonic X (mostly by Iluvknuckleshadow like a sonamy amv aka my first video on this platform ever) but for some when I "quit" the series itself I said it was too "boyish" and "blue" for my taste (yeah I was really sexist to a hedgehog...a fictional cartoon hedgehog!) Anyways fast forward to when I'm a teenager and I discovered game grumps playthrough of Sonic 06 (you probably can see where this is going) I mostly laughed at mostly gameplay and Abit of story of how stupid it is and sadly it turned into a blind hatred of Sonic ......temporary thankfully.. 2017, Sonic Mania gets released Also Sonic Forces gets released 2018 I get a Nintendo switch for my birthday and came with are Sonic Mania and forces. I wanted I get back into Sonic. I brought alot of Sonic X DVDs before streaming put it on Netflix. Due a certain friend I decided to get back into the fandom. I also played Sonic 06 (it's not that bad but still flawed) and Sonic Unleashed (best Sonic game ever besides generations). And that's when actually discovered the fandom... It was beautiful yet castrophic. I saw all the best (nazo unleashed) and worst (sonichu) of fan creations (and fanart). I saw the funniest (Sonic x ytps) and unfunniest (Sonic 06 joke) of memes. I saw everything and then something depressing happened. Sonic93.....she sadly betrayed me and the worst thing is I felt at the time, it was my fault for all the drama which also caused me to leave the fandom for good. After I left the fandom, my opinion on the hedgehog was changed and stay that way. To put it short "he's flawed but at the same he's a good guy but not in a way you expect" Sonic has gotten hate ever since shadow the hedgehog and Sonic 06 and its sad people bring that up just to bring Sega down but I won't allow it. I won't let the hedgehog get anymore hate, I still love old and new Sonic, I still love the fan creations and he is also part of video game history! So why are we acting like he's not? I'm sorry to those of suffered in the community for so long (including myself) now I respect him. This story is some what of an ignorance to understandment story and Sonic is mostly the underdog in this. I think some people dislike him not just because of Sega, his games, his all forms of media but he kinda like us. I hope we like Sonic someday just like we love ourselves. Yours truly Cosmic Art

Prior to getting into Sonic, the only games I ever played were girl-themed, with a female for a main character, and “fashion” being the main plot. Back then I’d thought that the only people who were ever into series like Sonic or Pokémon were boys. My bad 🥴
@@anarchytheangel346 yeah I know right btw off topic I also remembered that sometimes my teachers call out me just because I wear a Sonic related tshirt (especially before the live action Sonic movie came out) it's not hurtful but I also felt Abit insecure about being in the fandom
