First of all we need an immediate ban on assault VANS! Second, very good job by the law enforcement on scene. By the books, scene size up, correct assessment, and because of this the suspect is in custody. Hearing the suspect tell the officer that he has a "gun in his pocket " and for the officer to keep cool, assess the situation, and act accordingly they will be able to gain information on this horrible act of assault Van violence. But in all seriousness, good job. Stay safe and God bless.

I'm living in an apartment in this region, and it is right on the intersection of yonge and finch. I was having my lunch with my girlfriend in Scarborough when that accident happened. It's so lucky that we avoid that accident. Hope victims could be get better soon.

You shouldn’t be able to just walk into a place and rent a van with out a back ground check. We need have 5 day waiting period on vans. I mean really who needs a full size van?

What the heck is an assault van?! 90% of our vehicles are automatic and anyone can rent a van! That type of Van is normal in Canada...my brother ha one for his work. This is a very multicultural area...all of TO is. But, this area is especially so it's a wonder what triggered him to hit there. I love my city and I have never felt unsafe here...I live downtown and walk many times very late at night without any problems. It's a very nice, friendly and busy place.
