Yo Sir Jinx! So glad I stumbled on this interview. You were such a big part of my teens. I was 16 in 1990. All the way in Maryland listening to all Hip Hop and yes, of course, the West King Tee, Too Short, Quick, WC, NWA, Cube, CMW through the late 80s! Being in MD and so close to NY I, of course, listened to all that stuff but I was all over the West Coast music and appreciated the perspective from you guys too. So much great music and dear memories to me. I was the kind of person that would read the entire insert on all of my tapes and CDs. I would always see your name and hear Cube mention you on records. You have always been in my mind when I think of great producers and albums. I talk to younger cats these days and I mention you and they don't even know your name. I just shake my head and say "You don't know Hip Hop." I just wanted to say sup, send mad love and THANK YOU so much for records that are a huge part of my life as a young man all the way across the country. Glad you are OK as I haven't heard anything about you in years. I would love to hear some fresh beats from you and man talk to Cube about an Amerikkkas movie. That would be insane! Sir Jinx is my favorite producer. I love his skits in between songs and news clips he adds to his music. For instance The Drive By on Ice Cubes Amerikkkas Most Wanted. Death Certificate, Make Way for the Motherlode, Live and Let Die all are masterpieces. Chamber Music was a banger too!!!

I saw another interview he did recently and when the interviewer asked him about WC, Jinx didn't want to talk anything about WC and told the interviewer to cut out that part out of the interview. Which they did later cut out of the interview. If you interview him again I was wondering if you can get him to open up on what the issue is with him and WC. Keep up the good work Unique Access!

great interview! i alwats felt sir jinx never got the credit he deserved. he may not be a legend but he was a part of some big time albums in the late 80s and early 90s
Jinx definitely had a unique sound. Funky but really, really punchy with some hard hitting drums. Also, whoever the females were who did the background vocals on "Can't Play with my Yo-Yo" and a few other tracks, really did their thing.
