We actually did get some news about the Solangelo book in the middle! I think Mark did a couple of interviews and these are the points I know about the book so far (taken from two kind souls on tumblr whose usernames I forgot to list down and can no longer find): -Someone asked him "on a scale of 1 to 10, how gay is the Solangelo book?" and he responded with “700. I’ve always thought it’s strange that fans seem to think that Will and Nico are the only queer characters.” The person then proceeded to ask "You mean there's going to be more?" and he responded by saying "There's so many of them, some characters are coming out of the closet." -There's going to be a Lil Nas X reference in the book -There's a scene Mark wrote that was apparently too scary for the target audience so Mark changed the resolution to be something super silly and random and they're super proud of it and it's the editor's favourite scene in the book. -There's a male character that Mark felt didnt get enough attention so he's gonna have a role in the book. No clue as to who this is, however. -Mark actually changed a bit of Rick's outline for the book. -It is very very gay. very gay. said multiple times. -Nico is Mark's favourite character in PJO but he says that saying why would be a spoiler for the plot. So we're definitely getting more nicolore in the book.
I do hope the characters that come out, like, make sense (as horribly worded as that sounds). I've heard some people say if Percy came out as bi would be pointless but as long as they do it cleanly and well, I'm fine with it.

I really want Will to have a POV since it's a "Nico di Angelo adventure", Nico could be the main protagonist with the main POV but maybe if they ever get separated or we need to know Will's thoughts, we can switch to his POV for only a few chapters. I really want Will to become more interesting as a character, he has so much potential.
I agree but I also think it could be good if we saw what his life was like growing up. Cause it would would be really interesting if there is more to that sunshine boy. Maybe Nico and Will have like a real heart to heart convo and he talks about his past. Maybe he got bullied or something and has some mental health struggles and helps as much as he can.

So we could see and I would love to see Will talk Nico through a flashback or if Nico mentally snaps lashing out with his powers and Will is like "Nico I love u, I'm not leaving you, I'm not leaving you ever" and uses his healing/light powers to get through to Nico showing him he is not alone. Also I want to see Will stand up to Hades for Nico or even see Hades give Will a shovel talk, that would be funny to see. 🖤💛
I'm kinda interested in an Orpheus and Eurydice based plot. I always thought it would have been neat if Percy and Annabeth could have that plot in HoO (with Annabeth as Orpheus). (Also I strongly recommend the musical Hadestown.) But I would be really surprised if this new book actually followed that myth. Also I love your haircut!
I'm expecting that there will be some sad aspects to it, but I want there to be a good amount of Nico and Will being happy together, and I hope they will be in a good place at least by the end. Also, I would love to hear your reaction to the title reveal!
as a mythology nerd i really, really want to see orpheus story with changed ending. i also saw thread on twitter mentioning that the books have covered most of popular myths (hercules, jason/argonauts, theseus etc.), so now it could be time for orpheus! at the same time though, it seems a bit obvious, so i'm not totally sure about it
I really like the idea that Nico and Will break up hopefully not in Tartarus. but then one of them have a near death experience and get back together that would be SO cute. Also I hope we get both of they’re perspectives but even if we only get one it would be so interesting to see what they say about each other if they broke up. Cause I for sure think that they would still like each other.

I think Will like Percy will discover hidden powers ....maybe Apollo's plague power.... Nico's powers are already dark i don't think they can get any darker except maybe uh like uk....do something about his strength and the ability to bring complete darkness in his surroundings with nocturnal vision for a sneak attack.....i think I am getting too far
Err Bob already got his memories back in house of hades and made the choice to be Bob. So unlikely to be an antagonist. I can seem the pair rescuing an imprisoned Bob and damsen with the help of little bob
Me, being Aussie, got super excited when she said that it was being released summer 2023 because I thought that it was coming out in about 4 months. Then I remembered that our seasons are complete opposites and that it will be a year. :(

No but it will help. Will is Apollo son so reading his dad story where make mutiple appearance will help clear something up about Will and Nico realtionship. It also give Will back story a little like who is his mom, how they start dating etc And if Apollo paly a major role in the new book then reading it will be even more useful. I think Apollo will play an imporant/cameo role as he now care more for his childern.
Me and one of my friends were talking about the book and she has a headcannon that Bianca escaped from the underworld and is alive. I thought that maybe Hades appointed her as a messenger or something and that's why Nico couldn't find her when he went to look for her in Elysium, but you said about Jason appearing and what is Hades did that but with JASON! Like Solangelo are in Tartarus when Hades specifically told them not to go and Jason has to go try bring them back
My opinion for book: I would like the romance to be more like Annabeth and Percy. Like they delvope their romance over 5 book series and not have just a bunch of cute scene together thougout the 5 book??? Hope that make sense. I feel like they just kinda started dating so I rather see a progress of the realtionship then just cute scene stuff all over the 5 book. I also hope there isn;t too much romance (cuz the co author thing) cuz I like the amount of romance show in the pass first 2 series (Apollo didn;t really have romance) and wouldn;t want romance to be like central point as romance never been Rick focus in his book. I always love the action and myth part of it just as much as the romance. I don;t know about people coming out of the closet. I wouldn;t mind people who don't have romance panther already (Don;t want Percy to be bi as he never shown any interst in male and he is already 18. I kinda see it if he was like still 13-16 when people are still devloping but most people kinda figure out their perefence by 18/adulthood. That why I didn;t really have any issue with Piper. She was around 16 and still figuring stuff out. Not saying people don;t figure stuff out pass 18 but it would seem like they are just pushing an agenda now making Percy Bi after all these years IMO ) but old character who never shown much interst in other gender? I think we should just keep the old character as they were like Frank and Hazel being stright. I can see Leo and calypso since their realtionship isn;t too settle in so if one come of the closet, I wouldn;t be too shock. However, for couple already fully establish, I want them left alone.
