I have the style of the third button and on an RC600. I had some issues with the button activating consistently so I added #8 nylon washer to elevate the button slightly and works much better now.
Thank you for this - I was hoping that someone would find the right toppers for the new Boss pedals. I'd seen another video of someone using Barefoot Buttons on their RC600 and he said that they were too high, so had to shave them down. The Sonicake ones look like a better fit.
Barefoot Buttons recently released the large bore skirtless button they’re recommending for the rc600. Haven’t tried it yet and of course they’re $10 per. Still using the ones you recommended several months back without issues. Might try the sonic cake. As always thanks for your excellent info. Hope all is well 👍
Oooh are they? Interesting. Yeah have switched to the clear sparkling Sonicake ones and the Metal ones for the TC-Helicon. Gigged, worked. Happy. The other ones are lovely and colourful. 👍🏻
John, Report: Ok…so the new Large Bore Skirtless buttons from Barefoot Buttons DO work, but you have to install one of their spacers inside the button first. They’re very cool, digging them. All good 👍 Happy Holidays Best, Steve
Thanks for showing me some of the options for peddle toppers. I purchased SOLUTEK Peddle toppers (Metal colors assorted) from Amazon and installed with Allen wrench provided on my Boss RC600 loop station and they wouldn't allow the buttons to fully push down and stop /start loops or function properly. Adjusted all toppers as company recommended. Still not working. The buttons on Rc600 are really close to board. Do you have any recommendation, or mabey I should purchase those you have in this video, seems your toppers work very well Thanks for the video and any advice you may have on this subject. Thanks
Yeah I have found this. Some which need an Allen key are really thick and won’t push down. These toppers just ‘push’ on and have been perfect. Gigged, tried, tested and haven’t broken even with my heavy feet! 😂 Grab some from the link. 👍🏻
2 things. 1 Pedal toppers are great when you only have on socks. 2. Some pedal switches ( Helix ) have touch functionality that is triggered just by touching the switch. You need specific toppers to retain that functionality. Plastic and rubber won’t work.
That’s fair regarding the helix but regarding your first point, I would disagree that it’s ONLY for when you have socks on. For me it’s about a wider button to hit and flattens out the area. With the metal switches, I was wearing a pair of trainer that I forgot actually had a tread design with a gap in the middle.. and my foot went right over the metal switch and didn’t click it! 😂 So I think pedal toppers are better cause you can colour code them, see them better on darker stages and easier to hit. Obvs imo
I’ve pressed and battered them for over a year and they haven’t cracked or fallen off yet. I suppose to answer your question, they could do.. but mine haven’t yet.

They are very low profile, just snap on and work great for me.

That’s good to know Steve. 👍🏻
Happy holidays to you too 😊
@@JohnPaulMusicUK John,
update: used the new ones last night on gig. I like these much better, bigger target and a certain smoother feel to operation.
Thanks for showing me some of the options for peddle toppers.

I Just made some tops out of wood. At the woodlathe. To bad I can't show pictures. But it went out really good😊
That is awesome! If you are on any social media tag me in with @johnpaulmusicuk and I’ll see them. 👍🏻
Hi Paul, Can you recommend one for my slightly smaller buttoned Little Twins control peddle?
Go with the metal ones with the rubber seal as you can tighten them in and the rubber will squeeze the switch. 👍🏻
@@JohnPaulMusicUK ❤️ Nice One You’re The Real Deal 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
JP can you find a topper that fits the TC Helicon switches which are a bit smaller?

will they come out if you press them o the very edge?

@@JohnPaulMusicUK thanks! n_n
If you can get the toppers without the rubber inserts, they’ll be a better fit. The inserts tend to move around.
Ahhh really? That’s interesting. I think that would be a good shout for certain pedals. 👍🏻
I really hate these new switches.
Thank goodness for pedal toppers eh? Hehe.
Thank you for your video! To be honest I don't like pedal toppers with any logos printed on it.
Yeah that’s fair. 👍🏻
