3/4 of buying and utilizing gear is to get the basic idea of its capabilities. Then you commit, dive in and figure out how it was done. Thanks for the demo, split video helped me understand the RC-600 functionality and let me add, great arrangement and cover 👍🏽
i got my rc600 in the mail this week ,, im moving on from a looper on my zoom G5 pedal .. I'm really looking forward to getting my rc 600 ,, I'm not a fan of the rc1 rc2 ...hope you have worked yours out and post a vid soon
I love looping in fact i think there your next move after learning guitar. this 600 however is a bit like moving from flying a small Cessna aeroplane to the A380 airbus .. btw ,excellent vid ,love the attitude
Thanks for this video. I’m considering getting an Rc600. I’m currently using an Aeros loop studio. This is an awesome looper, but there are zero built in effects and I’m beginning to really notice these limitations. So, I’m really drawn to the rc600, but scared I won’t be able to wrap my head around it’s many, many functions.
Well, setting up basic looping with effects is quite ok, I managed to set it up so it can be controlled via MIDI. I own RC-600 for a few weeks and have not delved deeper yet, but so far feels powerful yet easy to configure :-)
@MikaelLewisify hey do you still like it? I'm looking to streamline and replace my boomerang looper, beatbuddy, stompboxes, amp etc with this one unit.
Nice vid. Its nice to see someone that knows their shit. I guess you having the 300 gave you a headstart with the 600. I'm thinking about purchasing the 600, but it looks deep....🤔
Best demo on the RC600 I've seen. I rented the Boss RC500 to see if I liked it but sent it back because it's too complicated. The RC 600 is just as 'tailorable' as the 500 I would guess but is it easier to set up since there are more buttons available? Also, does it have reverb and delay? I'm into multitracking, looking for good sound quality using an acoustic guitar and able to connect a mic.
Wish rc 600 had settings to set number of times a loop repeats and I could set the order of tracks in which the tracks plays automatically. Would't it be the next level for looping devices ?
Hey great video. About the way you set up the 3 tracks. Whenever a track that is set to single is activated all the other single ones are deactivated but not the ones set to Multi. Is that it? thanks!
I like the mode you set up to have the rhythm on track 3. Do you have the number of measures pre-set on each track or do tracks 1 and 2 have a free mode where you create the measure lengths on the fly?
Great demo of this BOSS 600, love the humour at the start ! Well balanced comment on Pros and Cons. I‘ve got the ‘baby’ BOSS RC 10, but it looks like the ‘Master Controls’ are pretty much the same on this BOSS RC 600 ! Does this involve the same degree of “Deep Menu diving” as the BOSS RC 10 ? Obviously the BOSS 600 is “light years” ahead in terms of its ‘6 x tracks of memory though. Cheers.
I have no experience with RC 10 so I cannot compare, but as a user of RC 600,the menu system feels quite ok - but might be subjective :-) I am used to a mess of GT-6 and some Boss digital pedals, so this is pretty awesome regarding user experience :-)
I have a question 🙋♂️ As an example , Let’s say you have recorded guitar parts on 3 different tracks Can I turn these on and off at any time just by pressing on the main buttons at the bottom or do I have to press the track select button to move over to a specific track before I can turn it on or or off ?
Its a shame that I cannot assign different input fx banks to different tracks, so that corresponding input fx would automatically activate when I play different tracks. What is the point of looper if you cannot do that. How am i supposed to change the track and the input fx bank at the same time. I bought this looper so that i would be able to do that. But it cannot even do such a simple thing. Is programming such a basic and essential function in a looper such a hard thing? Can anyone suggest me a work around?
Great, easy to understand demo! You played a song with two guitar parts: a verse and a bridge. Can you do a song with three different chord parts? A verse, bridge, and chorus? Thanks.
GREAT Video!! THANKS How about a video for beginners? A step by step analysis of the RC600 geared toward senior citizens!! Regarding gear: Quad Cortex functionality Take Care
Hello. I have a problem. I bought a new Boss RC 600 looper. On my computer I have songs made on my old Boss RC 50 looper. How do I make the RC 50 wav files work on the RC 600? Because so far the RC 600 looper shows the message FILE NOT SUPPORTED. And I have a lot of trouble, because there are 10 songs that are not easy. RC 600 wav file and RC 50 wav file. But in the RC 50 I mostly have MONO files, or is that a problem? And some settings need to be made .. tips. Please. I have a recital in a few days ..
Sorry mate the first thing to talk about is bit rate sampling The TC300 is 16 the TC600 is 32 that difference ALONE sets them apart as usable and nit usable if you care about your tone
Do you think the octave is ok for just a bassline? I use oc5 but I really only use it to loop simple bass parts. Also do you know if you can use the guitar effects while not looping? I only loop part of my gigs and hope I can utilize the guitar effects on songs I’m not looping.
I use the OC5 as well. Cool pedal, but I’ve never been too happy with the bass sounds I get using that. I always get some unwanted weirdness coming through.
Is it possible to delete one channel at a time rather than wiping the whole thing? So say.. if I wanted to clear only the first track and leave 2 and 3?
Hi! Very informative video. Seems like RC 600 is a dream looper. Here is a quick question. Can RC 600 do this? Memory 20: 1 simulstart , 2, 3, 4 as slow fade in ... I tap out ~ 100 bpm. Original tempo is 114. I end the section and want to change. I cue up Memory 21. Change is immediate Memory 21: 1. 2. 3 simulstart, will record on 4 after one loop. Tap from 100 bpm to 105. Cue up memory 20 again. Change is on the beat A bit more elaborate: Some time ago I've bought RC 50 thinking it could do everything I need . I play keyboards and I wanted to have interactive playback device with occasional looping. Something that could replace ableton live and all interfaces, software problems, etc. Fatal bug for me in RC 50 was its inability to switch between memories in time and keep global tempo. You see, I would like to change tempo during playing and I want whole system to follow along. I like to organize my songs into multi mode with tracks fading in, using volume pedal etc. So I use 3 loops for just one section of the song and I would like to switch memories back and forth for different sections. Is there a way to make it work seamlessly in RC 600? Is it possible to do this hybrid playback/recorded set? Is writing to memory fast and seamless?
I sold mine and replaced it with the Headrush Looperboard which is sooooo much better... I'm sick of the Boss antiquated menu diving on a small screen... Not only does the HR alleviate that BS, but it also doubles as a 4 stereo channel mixer... I got a new one on sale for half price and very happy about it... Even at full price, it's still a better choice over the RC-600...
Be that as it may those that have grown up Boss UI can relate and agree but that also goes with familiarity. My early home recording beginnings (after the infamous Tascam tape decks) was Boss BR-8. That thing groomed me for all things Boss to this day lol. I actually appreciate that experience now
I'm a Headrush Looperboard owner as well but the cumbersome size of it, the lack of flexibility with loop track configuration (it's all tracks, no individual track assignments), no usable guitar FX imo, limited switch customization and less tracks has me eyeing the 600. I do love the UI on the HRLB but the on the on board mixer is a wash for me now that I got a digital rack mixer.
Patience may be a challenge sorry you sent it back. It is a huge challenge for my limited concrete brain function. Having said that this unit sounds like 32 bits should and has endless potential. I'm in for the long haul.
Just bought one. Can’t wait to check it out. Nice work on this video.
This was just what I was looking for in comparing the two loopers. Thank you!!

Hey man, nice to find your channel! Hi from across the pond
I’m about 2-weeks into my RC600 journey - after failing miserably on many lesser loooers. This was super helpful- thanks for taking the time in this!
i got my rc600 in the mail this week ,, im moving on from a looper on my zoom G5 pedal .. I'm really looking forward to getting my rc 600 ,, I'm not a fan of the rc1 rc2 ...hope you have worked yours out and post a vid soon
You performed well Sir, well done!
Woot Woot! Excellent Doug!
Great song choice for the review! PC rocks! 🤘🏼

It’s the starship enterprise of loopers for sure 😂
Best explanation of the 600 I've heard

Update. I bought the RC600 and I’m loving it. I’ve got a lot to learn, but I’m getting there. It is a really great Looper.
@MikaelLewisify hey do you still like it? I'm looking to streamline and replace my boomerang looper, beatbuddy, stompboxes, amp etc with this one unit.
@@CarlitoM77 I’m not using the Aeros anymore, no. I replaced it was an rc600. Much more versatile unit.
Nice sound!
Great stuff Doug !!
Thanx !

I have a question 🙋♂️

Can I turn these on and off at any time just by pressing on the main buttons at the bottom or do I have to press the track select button to move over to a specific track before I can turn it on or or off ?
The former, yes. Track select takes you to tracks 4,5 and 6…..or you can assign it to do basically whatever you want. This thing is incredible ❤
Great, easy to understand demo! You played a song with two guitar parts: a verse and a bridge. Can you do a song with three different chord parts? A verse, bridge, and chorus? Thanks.
Yes, as it’s a 6 track looper you could have intro, verse, bridge, chorus, instr and outro!
picked up a rc505 mark ii today and wow there a ton of effects in there as well. prob same as this? There was nothing it didn't have.
Yeah, they are pretty much the same internally.
I’ve read that the rhythms effects are of a better quality than previous version RC LOOPERS.
can you assign individual outputs for individual loop tracks? It'd be cool to have a feature where you can record 6 individual channels to your DAW
RC-600 has three outputs (main, sub 1, sub 2) and it is possible to configure which track (1-6) goes to which output.
Yeah but what if I want to use my amps built-in effects for one track and not another?
U read the manual
@@tronlady1 It's not possible with this setup. That's the point
Put the looper after your amp.

There are tons of these already on youtube dude

If you switch the mics to "mono" and route 1 of them around the loops.. can u still access the "loop" FX on that input?
Didn't you say you were going to compare it to the rc300?
Good stuff
can you make a video of the rc600 on the pc ... like the boss me 80 and zoom g5 there is a desk top program .. can you show it please
I usse the RC30. Does all i need. This looks pretty complicated. I just use my Boss ME80 for effects.
Also how do you undo if you reassign the undo button?
There are 3 modes so you could keep it as undo on one mode and change it on the other two!
Sorry mate the first thing to talk about is bit rate sampling
The TC300 is 16 the TC600 is 32 that difference ALONE sets them apart as usable and nit usable if you care about your tone
are all your guitar sounds from the rc600?

Use a real bass guitar.
Is it possible to delete one channel at a time rather than wiping the whole thing? So say.. if I wanted to clear only the first track and leave 2 and 3?
Absolutely. Just hold down the stop button for whatever track you’d like to erase for 2 seconds.
Can each of the inputs be routed to specific outputs?
Yeah, it should be possible. RC-600 has three outputs and it can be configured which track and which input goes where.

Crappy sounding effects and some broken sync issues. I sent mine back. Its a gold plated turd.
I’m curious about your sync issues. What seems to be the issue?
