    I’ve tattooed lots of sea turtles on people over the years.My wife and I were just at Anini a few days ago.Used to snorkel for hours out there. Sometimes it’s just too murky for me.Aloha 🤙🏻

      Ha! Yeah, the honu is super popular. And for good reason, who doesn't love turtles right? And yeah, the visibility at Anini really isnt as good as I was hoping for but I'm going to dive that channel a few more times. I'm determined to get it on a clear day.

    We are just there last week around 4-5pm to snorkel. Just want to learn. Why not much fish by shore. Need to swim farther to see a few of them. Corrals are nice and alive. Predator more active that time? Fish hiding already under the rocks? Thanks

      I imagine there are several different reasons. One reason would probably be that it is a very, very heavily fished area.

    I’ve seen a few rays out there as well as turtles. Accidentally stepped on one out there while adjusting my mask. Gonna try an get out to that channel this weekend

    Cool vid! If I may make a suggestion. On your Gopro settings. To make it look “ natural “ underwater. Try 2.7k @60fps or 4K @ 60fps. Only problem is that imagine stability doesn’t support 4K But try that an should b less joggy

      That's a super helpful tip, thanks! I've always just trusted default because all the settings make me cross eyed on this gopro 9. But I've been going crazy wondering why footage hasn't come out as expected. Right now I'm trying to figure out why You Tube makes the videos pixelated when the same 1080 footage is crisp and clear on my computer. I always take the time to upload it as best quality and it takes hours to upload a 10 min video, but still fuzzy when viewed on youtube.

      @@RealAdventureTheory as far as the pixel view I’d say stay with 2.7k it’s more clear to the viewer. When it’s viewed it’ll play at 720 ( higher quality ) Image stability plays a good part when underwater. Also try an keep the camera still and make easy slow passes when viewing so it has that natural look.

    Yea I’m totally missing out. I gotta go farther out. Really cool vid man. Just like you. I don’t like to go where I can’t see the bottom. Stick to the edges !

    What a beautiful ray! I love Anini beach. Are you aware of the origin of the name? The story goes... the original name was Wanini Beach. Someone shot the "W" off the sign, and rather than replace the sign with a new one, they just decided to rename it Anini. Made everyone's life easier 🤣

    should i go to the channel in the center of the bay or by the campgrounds

      I've never done the channel at the end of the road in the center of the bay, just the one at the bend in the road near the end and it's great. If you're experienced and a good, strong swimmer (weather permitting of course and it's not like the channel is super dangerous or anything but there can be unexpected currents and who knows what else) the channel is where it's at (also always use fins). The channel nearly always has turtles, and can have tons of other neat stuff to see like eagle rays, eels, octopus and even maybe small sharks! If you're new to snorkeling and prefer waist deep water the campground is the safest and most shallow.

      @@RealAdventureTheory do you have any idea how deep the channel is?

    • @RealAdventureTheory
      @RealAdventureTheory  2 роки тому

      @@kmradosevich It's at the very least 20ft in the center (possibly 30-40) I was able to dive to the bottom and I have about a 50ft max. Hard to see the bottom sometimes so it can be super creepy.
