No mention of its connection to the Metro system? That’s a huge part of the project. 🤦
$5.5 billion for 2.25 miles? I was wondering where my ridiculous tax went ti
Welcome to LA
Actually this project is being paid by the travelers renting a car . For instance if you rent a car $10.00 goes to the project this has been going on for the past 20 years
Of course had they built it 40 years ago like a normal world city it would have been less than half as much.
The construction of this has been done for months but it's all just sitting idle. Nothing happening, no workers, no APM in sight. What is going on???
There was a contract dispute. It's been resolved, but it's resulted in the APM not to open until January 2026 even though it's 95% complete. I don't understand why it still can't open sooner.
This must be "AI generated"...
There's so much gibberish
Yes, so much blah blah filler speech. Add on the serious oversights not including the metro connection and horrible pronunciation of Sepulveda.
One of the main purposes of the people mover is to connect LAX to the K-line lite rail line.
+C line
Yes, as Andrew noted, both the K and C lines will connect directly to the APM at the shared LAX Metro Transit Center Station.
Dropped off family and friends a couple of days ago after not being there for over two years. Wow, what a difference. It's looking like a very different airport. You wouldn't recognize most of the terminals now especially the TBIT.
The whole airport finally has a more cohesive aesthetic. It's an obvious homage to Mid Century Modern architecture design of the 50 and 60s which is when the famous Theme Building was constructed. Everything looks like it fits better including the Theme Building. The APM cars also follow the same design aesthetic. Looking very good.
Agree about the visual transformation. Had a similar impression when I was there last summer. We usually use an alternate LA airport closer to home, so it had been a few years. Didn't have the chance to see many of the changes on the inside though.
In future, when on pick up-drop off duty, will you ask your passengers to meet you at the intermodal facility (they use the APM to/from there)? Or will you continue to prefer to use the horseshoe and go to the terminal yourself? (Assume time is not an issue.)
Just arrived at LAX this morning after a couple of years....and WOW...impressive VERY...!
@johnmaster3748 I would pick them up at the LAX Metro Transit Center Station because it's even further away from the horseshoe. Or, I would pick them up or drop them off at the C line Norwalk Station, which is about 10 minutes from my house. They would only need to do one transfer from the APM to the LAX Metro Transit Center Station. Both the K and C lines will connect to this station where the LAX APM connects to the LA Metro. Don't plan in entering anywhere near the horseshoe once the APM opens.
downvoting this if you can't pronounce Los Angeles correctly. it's not a real estate contract.
Worse is Sepulveda.
Is this an AI generated video?
Half the shots in this video aren't even from LA
Gotta be AI generated. The "vehicle charging station" pics showed a train.
It's hot garbage
A lot of the videos of the train are from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
It would be great if you showed a map of the route and stations.
You have to wonder of the $5.5 B will actually be used for building the APM and how much is being wasted on corruption.
Great point. There’s always some form of corruption. And that’s just the way it is.
You don't want to know. You really don't want to know...
LAX airport is like a large cul del sac
Indeed. That's why they call it the horseshoe. It's in the shape of a "U".
The train looks circa 1962!
That's simply a generic representation. The actual train cars look very different and they're white. The look very modern.
How about spending some of that money on fixing up LAX itself. The place is a dump.
What a joke. Overdesigned and overcomplicated.
Not overdesigned.
Nah. /
