jeanne d'ark is probably my favorite psp rpg right behind the 4 trails games. trails is just such a huge, epic, in depth series, i don't think anything will ever top trails for me.
Too bad it costs a fortune. I'm going to have to pirate it, I just got a psp 3001 bundle off ebay =D. I can't stop buying games for it, hell idk if it even works I'm still waiting on a charger.
Still have my psvita. And the latest consoles i have are only 3ds and psvita. Still, it's been many years and we are still discovering hidden gems and other interesting games on comsoles like psp and nds. You have to admit that sometimes it feels good to go back or still be left out right.
For those that don’t know I would recommend downloading the psx final fantasy games (7-9). You could get direct ports and they play just like the original. Very fun games to this day
@@filipower776 1 and specially 2 have great stories and characters (I would even argue that 2 has the best story and cast out of the Persona series). 1 just doesn't feel as fun, and I haven't finished it due to how boring and dragging the dungeon crawling becomes.
@@filipower776 I'm actually agreeing with you, as I think Persona 1 is getting too much hate. The dungeon crawling, just wad not fun and felt like a chore, Persona 2 greatly improved on that.
Trails in the Sky is developed by Nihon Falcom, Ghostlight was only a publisher and nothing else. Just like Ys Seven, it's Nihon Falcom, mostly abridged to "Falcom" not Nihon, mostly a nitpick, but Falcom's library is INSANELY good so any time it can be brought up I tend to haha

wow in year 2020 people still mention about psp by the way, I got Tekken 6, MH3rd, Gundam Assault survival, and Naruto Shippuden Ninja Impact in my psspp, I play them with Bluetooth controller, too bad my phone can't run MGS and God of War smoothly.
Jamie Teo if you really want to play all PSP games or even PS1 games natively, just buy PS Vita and hack it. All games from PS1 to PSP are running smoothly, no emulator needed. It’s very cheap now.

Zenonia PSP is also really great. Unless you have an old phone it's the only way to play (one of) the original Zenonia trilogy (the new ones are shit). It's a really great pixel art, action combat RPG that I can't recommend enough.

Ehhh, the Mana Khemia port is pretty bad. Sure, if you're playing the PSN version it's notably more stable then the original physical release, but crashes can still happen and the game sacrifices a lot of graphical quality that not only makes the environments look way worse, but also hurts the UI. It's still better than not being able to play it at all, but if you have the ability to play the PS2 version, there's very little reason to play the PSP port.
I never faced problems playing Mana khemia, field quality is pretty bad so it's understandable and mk2 for psp is no use if you can't read Japanese text
Use the PPSSPP emulator, you can play everything from valkyria chronicles, to persona, to metal gear solid, along with the excellent games mentioned here. You can even play it on a mid range phone. I can use it on both my regular phone, and my slower 2 GB ram tab

I beat jeanne d arc last night. Actually it was pretty good. I mean its not that complicated to play. Not like fft. I stopped at chapter 3. Im having a hard time at one stage. And a lot of grinding. Maybe i still give it a shot but not now. I will play disgaea 1 later.
Tactics ogre Brave story Valkyrie profile: lenneth breath of fire 3 Crimson gem saga hexyz force persona 2 These are all games that should've been picked over lunar, disgaea and trails in the sky. The psp remake of lunar silver star harmony is actually pretty bad and the best way to experience this game is still the psx or sega saturn version. Disgaea while a great game you can pretty much play that on any platform now. For trails in the sky you're basicly recommending a incomplete game in the west. It's 3 games and we only got the first one.

I only started Trails this year. Half-way through the second game. But I still went and bought Cold Steel I-III for PS4 in preparation too! I might wait to play the Crossbell arc in between though, if the fan translations are done.
Man, disgaea series are marvelous for your grinding life, it has unique gameplay and mechanism, and the best part is you can make god character with 1 hit 1000k damage even billion in later series, 9999/999 for hp/mp cap? 9999 damage cap? You dont see it on disgaea lol

These are all games that should've been picked over lunar, disgaea and trails in the sky. The psp remake of lunar silver star harmony is actually pretty bad and the best way to experience this game is still the psx or sega saturn version. Disgaea while a great game you can pretty much play that on any platform now. For trails in the sky you're basicly recommending a incomplete game in the west. It's 3 games and we only got the first one.
no you need to know trails in the sky series is completely translated and released for the west. mind you the first two is available on psp but the third one is only available on pc but you can get all of them there if you wanna play it. here are the links from steam

Also, brave story might have been the worst game I've ever played, story and gameplay wise
@@nicogalax "Must have rpgs". It clearly implies a non-cfw psp with downloaded back ups. And sure brave story wasn't a insanely amazing game, but it was fun and enjoyable. A story doesn't have to be ground breaking to be enjoyable or else you wouldn't even play half of these on the list.

And then I found Trails in The Sky and holy fuck it blew my mind
I even played the 2nd chap on emulator too only to regret it because the 3rd chap is on PC...

I only started Trails this year. Half-way through the second game. But I still went and bought Cold Steel I-III for PS4 in preparation too! I might wait to play the Crossbell arc in between though, if the fan translations are done.
I'd prefer Persona 2 over P3 but it's a very good list. I'm really interested in Ys Series.

Man, disgaea series are marvelous for your grinding life, it has unique gameplay and mechanism, and the best part is you can make god character with 1 hit 1000k damage even billion in later series, 9999/999 for hp/mp cap? 9999 damage cap? You dont see it on disgaea lol
We need a final fantasy tactics 2, the tactics advanced series art style and story were just too childish for me.
