That said, I am only about a third the way through, so maybe he does just give up. He definitely got screwed over on a handful of the words to a greater degree than the rest, imo. The reason Connor had such a hard time with Ignominious is that mi is the primary stress so the o in no gets reduced to a Schwa which is essentially a neutral vowel. This happens to must vowels directly before a stressed syllable to make the stress more prominent so a, e, o, u can an all sound like a Schwa. The only vowal that doesn't really happen to is the short i sound.

      @andrew_h6 2 роки тому +22

      How did he give up? He tried on all of them. And to be fair, even if he acted demotivated it was pretty understandable since he was screwed over in a lot of words. Chris’ later words were the only ones that rivaled Connor’s difficulty imo. Joey and Garnt got highly phonetic words, while Connor got Greek shit like “Cthonic.” Then there were all the ones that were missed because of their thick accents, which most of those missed ones were also Connor’s. I mean, who wouldn’t be a bit upset when they get “Bairn” but it is pronounced as “Ben.”
