You left out the best moment in the series imo, when the Texas band paid tribute to the A&M students who tragically died in the bonfire accident with Amazing Grace during halftime. Despite the hatred on the field, there is a mutual respect.
The Aggies have always been butthurt that the ‘Horns bigger rival is Oklahoma. That said, I’m so nervous about Saturday. No environment like Kyle Field.
@ 52. But yeah, I need to rescind the “always” part of my comment. Tx v Nebraska wasn’t bad, as well as the Arkansas rivalry. Makes the football fun! Didn’t pay attention to Nebraska v Oklahoma because we just didn’t care, all respect to Nebraska. None to fucking Oklahoma.
@@colinwest6316 I’m talking about the old Big 8 days when they played each other the final weeks of the season. Also I was replying to the other guy 😂.
This video does not do service to the (imho, justified) lopsided hatred of The University of Texas by Texas A&M University, formerly The Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. TAMC predated UT but when UT was finally created it was established as a separate and "superior" institution of higher learning as it was perceived that the hicks and lower classes went to Farmer school while intellectuals would attend another more refined, distinct institution. The lawmakers who controlled money in Texas did everything in their power to favor UT to the detriment of TAMC, even going so far as to putting oil royalties from production on state lands into a fund solely for use by UT. As a Texas-Ex, it is my firm belief that NO school has as strong a case for hating their rival as do the Aggies. Members of other rivalries may make the case that theirs is bigger but nobody has been slighted by their rival in any fashion close to what A&M suffered at the hands of those supporting UT.
LSU VS Florida --the swamp bowl or Gator bowl. The red river rivalry Texas vs Oklahoma. Georgia vs Alabama the red bowl. The Miami Hurricanes vs the Florida Seminoles. Honestly though with the amount of Alumni the Texas vs Texas A&M is #1 viewership should rival if not be bigger than the super bowl.
You didn’t talk about the story of “BEVO” and how he came to be. Or how each school’s fight songs focus on each other. Or Aggie jokes to make a few things. So many stories within the story and great moments related to this game.
People ask “is it as intense of a rivalry with Zoomers never seeing it” well if you grew up in this state and your family is from this state and you’re friends are from this state it doesn’t matter that you haven’t seen it, You’re parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins all told you about it and you know what it means. The rivalry is real, The urbanite Austin people mostly transplants from other parts of the country vs real Texans, Gig em!
Im part of the “lost generation” that didn’t really get to experience this rivalry so it’s great to see it comeback but Oklahoma is my favorite rival absolutely hate Oklahoma
As a 20 year old Oklahoma Sooners fan, even though I hate Texas alot and somewhat of Texas A&M. This has always been one of my favorite rivalries ever. Definitely in my top 5 being at #2 behind of course Oklahoma vs Texas
When you have no stakes in the duel it's more of a spectical and boy is it glorious. I have the same view of classics like Auburn v Alabama and Ohio St. v Michigan
One hates the other. The other is indifferent. It’s a rivalry for a&m. For Texas, it’s just game 12. Saturday will be the single biggest game in aggie football history (Kellen Mond, the winningest QB in A&M history said so himself). For Texas, it’s their third most important game of this season alone 🤷🏼♂️
I'm sorry but you must be too young or not have watched college football for a long time to have known that this was actually a rivalry. This is why people are making these history videos, people forgot how big this rivalry was.
Texas 8&4 is our little bro we don't hate them at all. In fact, they don't exist until the week of a game. That's why they hate Texas. We are their everything they want. BlowU is our hated rival.
Little brother cried and left the conference because they were overshadowed. Then cried when big brother joined their new conference and tried to stop us from joining
@@victorvaughn4281it was more like douche bags in Austin wanted their own sports network to get ahead in money and recruiting. We didn’t think that was fair. So we left for the SEC because it was better tv deals and we didn’t have to deal with those damn hippies in Austin.

I was 4 years old when the rivalry ended so this will be my first time watching
Holy wow! Well hope it’s a good one!
@@Lachronix I am sure it will be a good game for both teams are ranked

I was 7 and didn’t start watching cfb until 2012 so I’m excited even though I don’t have a dog in the fight

I was 13 when I watched the last one and am 26 now. Literally half my life without this game, and I'm ready to get it going again!
Do you have a vid on ND vs. USC? Im a recent convert to college football and a massive ND fan. Thanks.
NO WAY IM THIS EARLY
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS

A great game rivalry is back Texas Vs Texas A&M

Gig em!
I was 9 the last time I saw them play and I’m 22 now so yeah this will be fun
A & M does NOT have 3 national titles.
They do but way back in the 30s but I don’t count them
Claimed national titles: 3 (1919, 1927, 1939)
They have only been voted #1 by the AP once, which would give them one. They “claimed” the other 2
They have 3 recognized by the ncaa
@@caydenherring9196 dude, the ap poll didn't exist yet.

Wat are the 1st two? Oklahoma and what else?
@ ou and Georgia were the biggest games of the year for Texas in 2024
Lol this is the biggest game of the season for Texas, this game alone will determine their post season chances.

Not a rivalry, Big brother beats little brother
Well that would also mean that t.u. is older than A&M and it is not.
Paul Bunyan's Axe
Texas v TAMU is like USC v UCLA
Just like Texas V OU is like USC v ND
No
Therre was either mistake or an exaggeration in this video. The Aggies have won one (1) National Championship in football, 1939.
3, 1919, 1927, and 1939. Early years it was not determined as clearly as now but there are 3 claimed titles, texas has 4 claimed titles
They claim two before that
No, they have 3 recognized by the ncaa
Are you seriously showing video of a spring game? Not cool AT ALL
I love this rivalry my favorite is army va navy
this rivalry is just big brother is jealous at how much money little brother is making

Did you skip remedial math? In the 23-24 school year Texas brought in $239M, the farmers brought in $193M, almost 25% more.
