Okay, *THE PRESENCE OF MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT AN INDICATION SOMEONE WILL BECOME A ROAD RAGER.* Good grief! Think about it. You can't have mandatory mental health checks as part of getting a DL. First of all, how would they even do that? There are 233 million people with a driver's license. Are they all supposed to go to a psychiatrist and get a note? That's insane, considering 50 million of those people don't even have insurance. Or do you want them to answer some random questions on a driver's exam written by a state employee that would pre-determine the likelihood of road rage? NOT POSSIBLE.
Georgia drivers are the worst. Hogging the left lane on interstates, speeding up when you try to pass them, riding the center line to block both lanes. They're very aggressive and dangerous.
This is true and I was looking for someone to say it. I have crash trauma and it's honestly pretty hard to drive here on the highways. I also am surprised that people drive like this here because our state troopers don't let much slide, county is not very lenient. I live near here tho and there's not a lot of highway police presence.
Police are busy catching speeders, anything else is not being addressed by the police. They do not enforce the law about staying on your right unless you are passing.
This is how people act because you were "only" doing 75 or 80 in the passing lane when the speed limit is 65 or 70 while passing other cars, then as soon as there's a brief opening in the middle or right lane they'll floor it, weave through traffic, changing lanes at least 5 times to get in front of you and then proceed to slow down to 45 for next 5 miles to "teach you a lesson" about not speeding fast enough.
@@rouninpanda6318 there are some drivers who sit in the passing lane thinking they can pass all of the cars in the middle lane while not paying attention to the distance in between cars. The car behind him got in a tizzy and sped around the car that had blown past us, then started literally slamming on his brakes hard, then stomp the accellerator, slam brakes, speed off, after this idiots 3rd brake check, the red and blues came on in the car this boob was brake checking. It was an unmarked police cruiser, and the fool doing the brake check, speeding up, braking got pulled over, got handcuffed and taken to jail. Funniest thing I ever witnessed too. And since I did witness it, I stopped and gave the officer my info in case he would need witness testimony for court. They weren't any such things as a digital camera, cell phones, or dash cameras back in the very late 70's/early 80's, no internet either! I’ve had people do that to me when it seems they think I’m driving too fast and too slow. One thing I love to do on the highway is make it seem that I’m getting off an exit but when they’re to far into the exit I pull back onto the highway. 😂

@marvnuts, absolutely! They have no idea what worse insanity may be in that other car
Very much so. I used to have a Jeep with a front bumper that was a full on brush guard bumper that was 6 inch diameter steel pipes. Guy break checked me super close and I ran into his minivan. Destroyed the whole back of the van. Cop was several cars back but saw it and was right there immediately as the guy was getting out of the car. Cop walked up and told the guy he was an idiot to brake check someone with a bumper like that. I only had a few scratches on my bumper. Drove away with a laugh. That guy got a court date, a totaled minivan, and enough points on his record he lost his license.
Yes, I could have slammed the breaks and probably missed him, but the guy behind me would probably have hit me if so. It is a Jeep so I wasn't going to pull some quick cut turn and roll it. So I braced and just hit him. Cop even said I did the right thing.

Lol, how about no? You people have it all backwards, and are probably all ready to bend whenever daddy government says so. Anyone has a "right" to do whatever the effe it wants so long as it doesnt infringe other people's right, or it is an activity that is restricted for arguably good reasons. Its the whole point of the 9th amendment. So, driving - as in circulating by using a vehicke - is a right, but its exercise is regulated to keep it safe. Was it a privilege, your mayor could wake up and says "no more cars in my city" just because he doesnt like them. The difference, usually not understood by democrats, its why so many of our rights - ie activities that the government should not interfere with at all - are being eroded.

You can't have mandatory mental health checks as part of getting a DL. First of all, how would they even do that? There are 233 million people with a driver's license. Are they all supposed to go to a psychiatrist and get a note? That's insane, considering 50 million of those people don't even have insurance.
They do not enforce the law about staying on your right unless you are passing.
and why I stopped using turn signals, I got tired of being cut off
Georgia drivers.... that's the worst state- except for all other states.
I find that Georgia and Louisiana drivers are both pretty awful.
If you haven't passed a car in a mile, then you need to get out of the passing lane. How fast you are or aren't going doesn't matter.
@@pimpinguru Did you miss the part of my post that specifically says "while passing other cars"?
@@rouninpanda6318 there are some drivers who sit in the passing lane thinking they can pass all of the cars in the middle lane while not paying attention to the distance in between cars. Also there is speed of traffic. If you can't pass the car next to you and can only keep pace with it and you've driven a mile, then you need to move out of the passing lane. (not you specifically just a generalized "you"). There are drivers out there who hop in the passing lane attempting to keep other drivers from speeding. That's what cops are for.
@@pimpinguru German has a separate word for "you in general" (man) vs "you the person I'm speaking with" (du or Sie). I really wish English had a separate word too.
Thats why i just drive in the middle lane, doing about 75. Passing lane is where all the assholes want to be. Right lane is for semis and people getting off their exits
THIS should be called reckless driving, not doing 20 over the speed limit
In Wisconsin, it qualifies as (Felony) Intentional Reckless Endangerment With A Motor Vehicle. If the cops would write it up as so, few people would do it.
