They most certainly were not Stalinists or Soviet controlled, especially seeing as how many of the fighters were Anarchists and had a shit ton of infighting between them and the communist forces, which was one of the major factors for why they lost. Whick on is spain the sniper with no scope?
Loaded headline. It is more accurate to call the village Nationalist held. One could call the International Brigade Communist or even Stalinist, maybe add the word controlled.
watch the film- more is revealed
@@chestermosburger3113 that film is historically inaccurate, still is a good movie to watch, but there are many things that are modified in order to appeal to certain public...
Even if the war was a tragic event that ended long ago there is people who still want to continue (I've talked to people who literally said "war is not over and you all going to die for being traitors") More than 80 had passed and there are ignorants who "want to win this war" without knowing that both sides ended up devastated and rose a monument called "valley of the fallen" where republicans and nacionalists where buried in the same place as a reconciliation and a way to say "no matter what is your ideology, death will be the same for everyone, never do this again".
Cruelty was common for both sides, but military never used civilians not implicated in war for their purposes, in the movie they use two women, something that the military have strictly prohibited, they used Republican hostages and tortured them (which I personally disagree, but is war and your life depends on it, same as the Republicans who used nuns as hostages or to... Ya know, there are some nasty people on both sides).
They most certainly were not Stalinists or Soviet controlled, especially seeing as how many of the fighters were Anarchists and had a shit ton of infighting between them and the communist forces, which was one of the major factors for why they lost. The nationalists were equally if not more back/controlled by Nazi Germany than the Republicans were backed by the Soviet Union, i mean there literally were German plains that bombed Republican controlled cities while the Russians didn't come close to doing something on par with that in it's aid of the Republicans. Certainly they received support/aid from the Russians, but it's complete historical revisionism to assert that they were "controlled" by the USSR.
Here after the last surviving member, Josep Eduardo Almudéver Mateu has just passed away. Rest in Peace!

Communists Attack a nationalist held village. There fixed the title 😊
Communists attack a fascist held village or republicans attack a nationalist held village. Can't have it both ways :P
@@dipendrashah4314 they are literally waving commie flags.... no they are not Republicans lol. If they were they would wave the republican flag.
@@dipendrashah4314 Actually no.POUM which are shown here as the "good" republicans were mostly communists from around the world."Fascists" shown in the movie were Nationalists based from their equipment.

Who won the war?
Rudy Tahang the nationalists. Mainly because if outside support and an undivided republican front.
@@namelessidiot667 The nationalists did not have much support from foreign nations, the nationalists won because they were more organized, all had the same leader and the same ideas for what Spain should become. The republican army was very disorganized and beliefs varied widely.
