Beautiful playing! PS you’re looking great Rob! Wishing you great health, wealth, and an exciting 2022! Thanks for all the great playing over the years!
This is made by APC in Portugal. Don't think you still find them as HB brand, but as APC for sure.
i dig this big time!! My main "sofa guitar" to play while just chilling watching movies and stuff is an old half size classical that i bought at a bootfair for £3 (haggled down from £5 lol), had it atleast 7-8 years now and barely change the strings on it but man, its so nice to play a classical that dosent feel like im holding a cruise ship on my lap. It's time to put it to rest soon since the intonation is a bit knackered and 3 of the tuning pegs have just crumbled away, so im tuning it with a pair of pliers
Nice to see you going after the acoustic guitars...new year new directions brother..cool guitar
So me and my one-year-old son watched this together and he pointed at the screen and I said Rob Chapman and he laughed so now I’ve been yelling your name repeatedly at my son and he is cracking up.
About the guitar and your playing…. Great stuff thank you.
Ha ha that’s amazing!! Thanks for sharing such a nice moment with your boy :-)
Beautiful Rob thanks!
Sounds really good. And looks cool 😎
This is very similar in concept to my Eko MIA Nylon - also very slim but still nice sounding acoustically as well as when plugged in.
That was beautiful playing!
Thanks Janice :-)
Hi Rob it's made by a Portuguese company called apc I've had an acoustic electric for years unbelievably long sustain and tone and it's so easy to play
I actually wish Harley Benton would strip back it's name on the headstocks, a nice wee HB symbol would perfect, I got a teletype and it's a nearly an essay on there 😆
I think that guitar looks lovely on how it is really slim compared to a normal classical guitar, and that it is black on the body.
I bought a blueburst HB round back Ovational-style acoustic electric last year for a ridiculous price from Thomann, and I absolutely adore it!
Cheers Chappers!
Yes the HBO 850 ... Very good
Wow, made in Portugal is awesome. I can picture it being used in those Portugese pubs where there's always live acoustic music.
Love that first piece you played - makes me want to transfer my pension to Scottish Widows!
interesting guitar, I was looking at a 2nd hand Yamaha AEX but this could fit the bill instead.
I play classical and electric and this looks like an interesting guitar. I checked out the link on Thomann and was surprised that it is actually pretty cheap. Looks-sounds like a decent beginner-intermediate guitar for someone who is interested on working on some classical stuff, but doesn't want to spend a fortune. A top end classical and you're looking at 10x the price or even more!
more like 30-50x the price

@@sergeantslowpoke1550 everything's expensive when you're a student, and it doesn't matter what you go to school for lol.
@@razztastic the point was that I'm very well informed on the market value of high end classical guitars. Mind you I've also noticed I missed the "or even more" part of the comment above so that was a small oopsie but point still stands.
Is that a xlr jack on this thing also? Whats the purpose everyone? I mean, I can understand going stereo, but wouldn't you just need a dual 1/4" jacks?
Really nice to see you play Steve Hackett!
Oooh - suits you Sir - oooh :)
🎸
I really wana buy this guitar.
Any idea when will it be available in thoman!
Rob nice find. Shame you didn't try it on an electric guitar amp, to see if you get any output. I tried my resonator on my electric guitar amp and had to change to the clean channel and then only got a low output, though it doesn't have a built in pre-amp to be fair.
What is the full name of this Harley Benton series?
Any update for the Chapman 2022 line up? I'm about to purchase my third Chapman guitar, and I'm curious about what may be in the works!
Hey dude, lots of stuff coming out this year, including new ML2 and some beautiful semi hollows!!
@Rob Chapman I've got an ML1 pro, and the ml3 pro modern semi hollow, and had recalled in an earlier video that you had mentioned another semi hollow. Any ballpark idea on info/specs/release date? Probably don't want to spill the beans just yet, I get it. But a general time frame? Like... before summer? Fall release?
Is nut narrower than 5 cm ? I would like to have a nylon string but I cannot stand too wide and fat necks
48mm nut width according to the site
Are they currently out of stock or not in production any longer?
Nice to see you in my world for a change. haha I am a Classical Guitarist, and that Classica sounds nice. I've never seen a classical guitar with an Oak top before (Cedar and Spruce are far more common) Nice to see the bit of the Bach Cello suite no.1 there. The amplified sound is quite nice too. Usually mic'ing classical guitars is a NIGHTMARE, because they just end up sounding synthetic. This one actually doesn't.
Random question but do you prefer cedar or spruce more and considering the density of oak as a top wood, could you see it being more common in the future? Coming from a person who plays on a classical often as well.
@@thenormie I like cedar for its dark, romantic tone. I have 2 Cedar & Indian Rosewood Ramirez guitars & I love 'em. I'm not sure about oak. I suppose it could.
@@Anton_the_Vampire cedar is my preference too, I have a spruce top but I’m trying to work on my nails, technique and changing strings to get a darker warmer tone. 👍
Rob im satin man if u venture a lottle into great acoustics, PLEASE make a sweet B bender w some nice inlays like the gibson
Unfortunately, the link to the Thomann page does not lead to the guitar.
I have a USA strat and a Harley Benton, I find myself picking up the Harley more 🎸
Nice demo - interesting as oak is new to me, too. However I would have loved just a slight bit of what I would be looking for in a classical guitar: the sweet, fat, sustained appoyando (rest stroke) melody? Maybe you can consult your dad about that ;)
Needs a HB branded version with a 46mm neck.
Was expecting some distorted pedals or something. Would have been fun
you should get them directly from APC or any of their resellers and you'll save a lot on the price.
But, the Indonesian hard to get the product Boss...
What’s that first tune Rob. I want to give it a try.
Hi Steve, It’s Bach I think it’s Cello Suit number 1, thanks for watching :-)
"Out of my comfort zone" ha! I feel like that any time I pick up my electric, even tho I massively love blues.... could it be because I've never had a decent one? Or that I'm just shit lol
Hi Rob, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your work with Clockwork Wolf & Co. I'm looking forward to Time is the Enemy.
Thanks Charlie, we are so excited to release it :-)
Try a felt pick next time! Works great and sounds like your finger.

Cool guitar. Why not using an overdrive and playing blues with this guitar. It has a special sound. 😉
so you moved from Anderton's to Thomann?
APC no seu melhor APC instrumentos Antônio Pinto de Carvalho Portugal
We'll always have Paris.
Made in Portugal you say? What sorcery is this...
You should play it through a Miku
What? No "Stairway To Heaven" ? Ha!! Just kidding.....
A shoe box with some rubber bands wrapped around it would have better tone...
