I feel like people are to harsh on Dovewing. She was told she had so much power at a young age when all she wanted to do was be an apprentice with her sister. For the original three I think the blow was softened bc they were in it together but Dovewing didn't really have anyone as Jayfeather and Lionblaze expected to much of her.

I think this song, in regards to Dovewing herself, is about finally taking the initiative to do with her life what *she* wants to do with it, not what Ivypool, or Jayfeather, or Lionblaze or Bumblestripe wants. But what SHE wants--transitioning to ShadowClan to be with Tigerstar II, and away from those who used to keep her trapped on the ground. To finally indulge in her true feelings.

Ok, I want to put my thoughts into word instead of geeking out. This is beautiful. There’s no other option.
I can relate to this. Dearly. But I want to talk about the song itself.
Starting of, we hear a very angelic and soft piano playing. It throws us directly into the mood of the song, and we understand what we are getting us into.
The first line is ‘How would it feel to take that leap’ following by ‘And never think of the ground at all.’ This has a very comforting meaning. It’s basically explaining itself, but for a simple explanation it means ‘How would it feel to do it(what I want, what I should), and never think of the consequences(awaiting for you on the ground) at all.’ This is wholesome. It really just screams ‘This song will be a transition in Dovewings character arc and you can’t make that change’
The next line is ‘Close your eyes, breath in so deep.’ preferably, ‘consider what you should do, realize that you did it.’ I don’t hav much to say about this line, it really just signifies to take in consideration what you have done and what you will do.
‘No one waiting to catch your fall’ has several meanings. it could mean how she is ‘all alone’ and that if she falls she will have to get up on her own. It could also mean how she is completely free, no one waiting to catch her and she can just feel peace in knowing she has full control of what happens, not affected by anyone.
‘All my life I’ve been told to wait (paus) for the storms clouds to clear the sky’ this is signaturing how all her life she has been told to wait for others to clear the way. Until she can make her move, the important move. What is expected of her. What she is destined to do.
Then she suddenly sings ‘But all I want is to feel the rain. Let all those winds take me higher, and higher’ this is where it starts to go of. Where she tells us what she wants. She wants to feel the ‘rain’, she wants to feel free, again. She wants to let her life bring her upwards. Honestly, the concept of this(and the whole song) is wholesome.
‘And still, I’ve yet to touch those clouds. They say I’m safer on the ground’ she is doubting it! She knows she shouldn’t do it, that it’d be stupid, that If she did it the whole mission of saving the clans could fail!! But she just wants to do as she wants herself! She can’t help she was chosen. Oop I’m just defending her now UH-
‘One day I’ll fly.’ I don’t see why I should have to explain this one. One day she will prove herself, one day she will make it all right, one day she will be free.
OKAY, OKAY, I HAVE TO PUT THIS IN. The piano playing for this line and the following lines are just * chef’s kiss *. They are getting higher again, they are getting brighter. And the melody too, it’s so jumpy you’d think it’d not fit, but it mixes PERFECTLY with her soft singing! AAGH.
‘Just take the chance to try.’ I don’t *have* to explain this one, it’s really just’take the chance to try’ perfection. Good job Blix
‘I know if I go, I’ll learn to take to the skies’ I LOVE THE HIGH NOTE IN THE END. **clears throat awkwardly** ahem.. well, yeah! She knows if she leaves, she will be able to want! If she does it, she can FINALLY be right. She can finally have peace, be freed from this weight on her shoulders(atleast that’s my seeing of it lol)
NOW. ‘And as hard as that seems, to take that first faithful leap, I’ll fly.’ AA! When I listened to the final rewind, this was the line that made me fall in love with this song. Really. Ok, so it basically means, ‘And as hard as it seems to do this thing that’s hard and might make consequences, I’ll do it.’ Or maybe, it’s more ‘I’ll eventually do it. When I’m ready’. I’ll let you decide that one.
(ALSO AGAIN I LOVE HOW LONG THE NOTE GOT HELD THERE AT ‘FLY’. ITS SO ANGELIC)
‘I’m on the highest peek that someone knew.’ CUTE! She is as high, her life is as good, as anyone have ever been! Because she did what she should. But then, the next line comes ‘Though I hear them try to call me home’ she is so happy, now that she doesn’t need to hold this weight, but yet she still knows they are trying to get her back so she can fulfill her part of the prophecy.
‘But I cannot seem to shake this view! Where I jump headfirst into the unknown(frozen reference lol).’ Even tough she is going home(as seen in the animatic), she still has the feeling she had on the highest peek. The pure happiness. And it won’t leave! She still wants to leave, though she accepts it’s not time yet.
‘And looking back, I can see it now,’ following up by ‘the world is so small from on the ground.’ I can’t really translate this one, I’ll assume it signatures that when you are on the ground you can only see the parts of the world which is surrounding you, but when you lift and fly you see so much more. I still doubt that this is the correct meaning, since the world is actually smaller from above. I’ll leave that for you to decide, Blixemi.
‘And I’ll fly!’ She’s singing this line with so much more confidence now! And the little change from ‘one day I’ll fly’ to ‘and I’ll fly’ this shows how she has grown from the last time she sung that. She is getting closer! It’s not ‘one day I’ll fly’, its ‘soon I will fly.’ AGH. Amazing.
‘I know if I go, I’ll learn to take to the skies!’ I’ve already described this line, but now it’s MUCH higher notes. She is REALLY on it now!
‘And as hard as that seems, I’ll take that first faithful leap~’ I LOVE WHEN SHE AUNG ‘LEAP’. I JUST WANNA SAY THAT, OK?
‘I’ll fly.’ This time she is going down in the notes, as if she knows she *will* fly, but she yet has to be patient and wait.

Some heavy tears have fallen down my face. It is extremely hard for me to cry because it's physically painful for me, I have a chronic physical disability. This song is so personal and I relate to it so much. All I want is to freely be able to run in the future without pain. Thankfully in my religion it gives me hope for a new future, one day paradise will come. In paradise I'll be able to symbolically "fly." Thankyou so much for making this song.

I really love the message of this song, especially the line ‘but all I wanted was to feel the rain’. It’s like you have to get your hands dirty sometimes and live in order to fly and really see the beauty of life. Its clear just how much thought went into each line, not to mention the gorgeous vocals and animatic. You’ve definitely outdone yourself, Blix. (Which is saying a lot)❤️

I just have to say, this is probably Blixemi's best song yet. I don't get very emotional when listening to music, especially not my first listen-through, but this song made me cry. The vocals are so beautiful, the art style in the animatic fits just right, and the lyrics and notes just seem to compliment eachother so well. Okay, I'm going to come out and say that I don't read warriors anymore, but I've been following you since around 2018, and I don't plan on stopping. Your songs are freaking fantastic. Seeing how much your music has grown and progressed honestly makes me feel emotional. It is wonderful to hear how passionate you are with the songs you sing and write, and I hope you continue to be passionate about whatever you go on to do. This song sounds wonderful, and the emotion in your voice is hard to miss. You have so much talent and it is incredible to see and hear it put into your art. Your channel and your music has always been a huge inspiration to me, and I just wanted to try to write down my appreciation.

I'll admit: while I like Dovewing, I've never loved her, same with Ivypool. I've always been able to connect more with Hollyleaf, and so I've always liked her more.
But this song? This song is simply beautiful. It's so much deeper than just a warrior cat song. It's sad, and it's happy, it's relieved, it's desperate. It's an emotional rollercoaster in three minutes and twenty seconds. The lines "and as hard as it seems, I'll take that first faithful leap!" While seems like it's related to her joining ShadowClan, and *leaping* from one Clan to another, it can be interrupted differently. As taking a leap, a difficult, hard one, to try and change your life.
This entire song can be listened to by someone who's read not a single warrior cats book. It's just... Beautiful. I asked my friend what she thought of it, and her reply was that it sounded like an ode to overcoming depression and low self-esteem, and I agree with her! In this song Dovewing is struggling to do what *she* wants for once. Without the context of warriors, the song sounds like someone struggling to move on, to free themselves from the chains of their past and depression, and to finally be free.
Dovewing has been chained down her whole life. By the prophecy, by Ivypool, even by Tigerheart. The first real choice Dovewing made for herself was to go to the Guardian Cats to have her kits, and even then Tigerheart dragged her back to ShadowClan, and was a huge jerk the entire time they were there. Dovewing's whole life has been revolving around doing what other people want her to do, and this song is about her longing, her desperate desire to be _free._ It's beautiful, to put it in simplest terms.
This song is going to make the Dovewing haters sit down for once.

I know we all make fun of Dovewing sometimes, but she's the reason I fell in love with warriors. Omen of the stars was the first series I read, and her view of the world just made it magical. I know she may be petty sometimes, but I will always have a special place in my heart for her. This song is her perfectly encapsulated, thank you blixemi :')

I had to hold back my tears since my family is in the same room, but god, that was absolutely gorgeous. Teej did an amazing job with the animatic, it matches the wistful yet sometimes sorrowful mood set by the song.
You outdid yourself with the music too, the instrumental is gorgeous and heavenly sounding, gentle and delicate. The lyrics flow wonderfully together, not a word seems out of place.
And I cannot forget the wonderful vocalist. Her voice swells beautifully in every appropriate part, she has the perfect range for it all. Her low delicate voice and high strong voice, both sound like they were made to be sung. Without her wonderful vocals this could have never been as beautiful as it is now.
I applaud all of you, this is clearly a labor of love, and it paid off more than you could imagine ♥️

That aside, this song is just so beautiful, and it makes Dovewing look more like the carefree kitty she wants to be, and maybe this was how she felt when she moved to ShadowClan? Either way, adorable representation, and THIS ANIMATIC IS MWAH-
