    Great stuff! I've seen the Head/neck twist takedown in Kali and Silat for years but never the way Lee teaches it. Much more realistic and brutal. Thank you.

    That take down was beautiful. Sharp and stream line, no fat at all just lean mean and clean precision.

    Head controls are the only efficient way that Ive had positive and repetitive results to down an attacker as far as a grappling move. Only one liable to work on a bigger, stronger man.

      Fair enough, but you can't lie to yourself. If you were a competant Wrestler you would know and be able to take down much larger guys than yourself via a multitude of ways, and wouldn't of said what you did regarding head controls.

    • @dynamicelmo5427
      @dynamicelmo5427 7 років тому +7

      djeq721 nobody is lying to anyone. Its what works for me and its not what you find ideal so you attacked my position because you don't agree with it. In arrogance.

    I've been taken down with head control many years ago during karate training, and the instructor was gentle with me, and I still went down. It's very disorientating. It feels like you're standing still and the whole world is turning to hit you in the back. The first thing that goes through your mind is how the hell did I get here? Where am I? It's an excellent fight stopper. Once your opponent is down it also buys you time to follow through with next technique.

    Hi Lee , addicted to your vids ,,, i’m probably your age and maybe had similar experiences growing up (BUT I wasn’t wearing a suit or uniform ,, enough said ,,, i detect a leicester accent sometimes - i was in glen parva so you can guess the rest)) ,, did bjj & striking at “mansfield chinese boxing club” (was actually “british combat” & bjj actually) also had my own “b’c’” weekly coach (one of the original 10 coaches certified by Geoff & Peter) so i was PASSIONATE about violence in my late teens up to now i suppose BUT had to give up on getting into violent situations whenever possible because i discovered money and for every step i took forward i took 2 back ,,,
    The lesson i want to share with your viewers is this >>>
    WHEN YOU ARE GOOD “AT VIOLENCE” it’s an easy trap to fall into that you don’t bother to learn alternative life skills because violence gives you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much and that in it’s self is “self validating” !!!
    I was very lucky/ unlucky that i developed some serious physical problems that saved me from myself and forced me to learn new ways of dealing with situations , gaining validation etc ,,, it has been an amazing addition to my lifestyle (ps i came from nothing & became “rich” in every way a young guy dreams to be rich in !!! BUT WITH VIOLENCE ALONE YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ,,, I am still as passionate as ever and i still have a devastating 2 minutes in me & feel the need to back down to no man because of fear BUT please Lee i know you understand everything i’m saying now - TELL THE YOUNG NATURALS THAT THEY MUST LEARN OTHER SKILLS BECAUSE THE HERO WORSHIP DON’T MEAN SHIT WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR WIFE & KID ALONG WITH YOUR HOUSE AND EVERYTHING ELSE !!!!
    we’ve both seen this too often so take them under your wing after teaching them how to be seen as “super heroes” and educate them about the alternatives that they will need as they want to settle their lives 🙏🏻
    PS - there is not one week that passes where i don’t crave for someone to “bring it to me” and i’m 53 years old 😬

    I like your techniques,because are very real. I saw too much techniques where the only thing missing is that you dance with the aggressor and personal defense is to get out of a situation as quickly as possible

    Dangerous for the other guy's neck. A sloppy execution (very probable) under stress may cause death.

    • @UrbanCombatives
      @UrbanCombatives  7 років тому +5

      outofthebox7 listen to the lesson you turn subject from the shoulders as a unit keeping whole body structure close to you. this takes away chance of nevk damage

    • @outofthebox7
      @outofthebox7 7 років тому +1

      So you don't agree with my comment?
      1) Actually, I listened very carefully. I am talking about the part where you slap-grab chin/front of face and back of the neck, the "as you slap" part.The damage will be done at that point. See 2:39. Just before the "crushing his face" part.
      2) Turning the subject while stepping to his side makes the execution of the technique more possible, granting you way better control. It's not firstly an issue of preventing neck damage (but of better control), although it does help a little. BUT, as I said, if one is adrenalized and stressed, -> his intention his accuracy

      thats fine then I take it the lesson was of no use to you, so please feel free to no longer view or subscribe. There is scope within most skillsets within Combatives to turn down or up the volume in regards to Use if Force. I have employed this method live time to rattle a subject, put him on the ground with no ill effect using no more force than demonstrated here during this class and as you can see everyone is fine. I have learned from experienced that aggressive, intoxicated and possibly chemical assisted individuals are fucking resiliant and a lot harder to damage than you may think. With that said variables such a weight disparity and physical development can make a massive difference. For control of a noncompliant subject my entry although ballistic is a lot more controlled that it may look. Of course the same skill set employed for a Military Unit where the rules of engagememt might be to eliminate the enemy force applied directly to the neck may be sought. That does not belong here and is not what im talking about. Respectfully I am not interested in long written debate or in what others think. Take it for what it is, information put out there for others on my own time and own dollar for free for those that choose to take something or nothing from it! Thats the choice you have. With that choice is to subscribe and watch or NOT! I'm not interested in debate take from it what you want. My explaination is there and requires no further waste of oxygen as far as im concerned.
      Regards Lee M

      I think you are overacting here. I said nothing against the whole video, just about a particular aspect. I didn't say that you are teaching them to break necks, but that it could happen (explained how). And (wow) why does it have to boil down to don't view, don't subscribe?..
      And what debate are you talking about, I'm was just discussing with you something I thought you'd find interest in and maybe helpful. No intent to bother you, sorry if I have btw.
      Peace to you.
      PS. And as most if not all here, I know very well what choices I have (as you put it), thank you for your time.

      I assume you mean over reacting not over acting in which case Id say not at all. Your right you said nothing of the video overall, just entered with a negative comment and nothing more. Do you really think I put my time and effort in to put up the videos on this channel only for someone to come on and voice only their negative point of view? over reacting? No of course you are only getting 7 percent of communication from me as we are not facing eachother over a cup of coffee as we chat. If we were you would see from my body language, voice, volume and tonality that I am calm and simply giving my response. Text and written word doesnt convey that well enough I guess. I just have a immediate lack of interest when someone only looks for holes kind of makes you think? whats the fucking point of posting anything? Then my sensible side kicks in the one that says not an ounce of fuck is really given! Peace to you to bro!
