I'm from Sicily, and my grandfather was a marine engineer who has traveled all around the world thanks to his job. I once asked him what the best country he visited was. He answered Mexico, without a doubt. He said that there his crew met the most down- to-earth and generous people he had ever met, he always repeat that he felt some sort of kinship-like feeling between his people (Sicilians and southern Italians) and their people. As he put it, "it's weird how two extremely distant cultures have so much in common". I'd love to get him a trip to Mexico as a gift now that he's old and retired, so he could taste mole once again.
we are distantly related, many of us were expelled from Israel sold by Romans whos ancestor was a twin brother of our forefather Jacob back in Israel some 4000 years ago. so yes there are many similarities for a reason.

I took my child to Mexico about 10 years ago before I met my husband and was slightly aprehensive before going as I'd heard horror stories, but the further I researched I found stories of People having very positive experiences especially when travelling with children. This didn't really prepare me for just how warm and welcoming the people everywhere we went were, we were always made to feel safe and like a member of the family, and just incredibly kind-hearted gestures from virtually everyone we met that didn't need to. It's the only place I've ever been to that I'd love to return to one day. I appreciate that you have to take cautions when travelling in any country and not everything is perfect ever, but thank you Mexico and all the peeps for the memories and making this person smile.

Mark, I know this has been a few years since you've made this. But during my watch of your older videos from before I discovered you, I realized something. Your son will have a beautiful, and likely forever preserved view of his parents, you and Ming, for the rest of his life. Years from now, ok, decades from now, when you and Ming have passed on, he'll have something beautiful to hold on to and see and remember about his parents. I know you've made a lot of money from UA-cam, but I think the real treasure is you've made an archive for your beautiful son.
Thanks Mark. I am oaxaqueño (Oaxacan) And I'd like to say thank you all for the good comments about our culture, people And places that Oaxaca has to friendly share to the world. Please comeback any Time you can.

0:50 Mexican Starbucks. Better service, way cheaper, way fresher and way more delicious!
I agree ☝️
I miss going to these markets in Mexico as a kid. So much good eats and cool stuff to buy.

You ate at a few places that I tried and man, it is amazing food. I was literally drooling while watching this and I'm right now boiling water to fix me some elotes
Me encanta Méjico, muchisimo.

Orgulloso estoy... I'm hungry now I can't wait till I go back to my hometown.. always eat fresh tortillas echas a mano...

Depend on who you ask. Mexican food is good . It’s just question of preference . Just like Ford or Chevy.
Mexican food declared by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
@@Tom_Sawyer385 we, mexicans love our food , if you like it or not is your problem.
I don't know if it's being in Mexico, or just how things are going on your life, but you seem happier! You've always had a positivity, but you now seem to be truly enjoying yourself, you have a different energy, a lightness to you that I feel is new, and I love it!
You need to come to Mexico so you can experience that feeling and you will see why everyone loves it. My husband is American and living in Mexico..
Bienvenidos a Oaxaca !!
