I wonder if carrying around a bluetooth keyboard will be my solution to this problem in the future, since no one seems to want to provide a device with a proper keyboard anymore.
I actually like the fact that it's thicker, I think a lot if not most phones today are thinner at the detriment of durability and handling. My main concern with this would be the size of the keyboard. Do you think someone could use this as a main phone? Not just as a secondary device for tedox.
People are complaining about it being thick..I would take my device to be thicker any day if it means bigger battery. Especially for a device this small, the extra thickness ain't a deal breaker...and I wish my phone has the student mode as well.
I loved the OG Jelly2 but I was very disappointed that Unihertz didn't do one single software update for a year and a half. I would buy the new one in a heartbeat if I only knew that they actually would support it in the future not just forget about it. It is great and cheap, but it isn't cheap if you consider that you will have to throw it away after three months because it has become a security hazard. :P
Android phones dont need security updates. You know anyone ever had a phone hacked of all the people you know? ffs people believe everything they sell to us
The Jelly 2e in some ways reminds me of my Blackberry Torch 9810 from back in the day. They have the same size screen and the virtual keyboards are remarkably similar other than color. Essentially the J2e is a modern version of the Torch. Honestly,if Unihertz would make a version of the J2E with a physical keyboard as well as the virtual one,it'd be a ideal device for me.
It is admirable that they're still sticking to their guns with launching these enthusiast devices. That being said they must not have good quality control. My Titan Pocket sim tray has not been functioning now for months.
Re: student mode. When it's activated, does it also block phone calls and texts. My current phone has a focus mode but it also automatically activates Do Not Disturb, which I don't necessarily want, because it becomes a defacto airplane mode. I want to moderate my usage, but I don't want to miss important texts from my husband, others, etc.
i did everything i could to preserve battery life but seems that my Jelly 2 (Not the 2E version) is not that good even not using, it seems it does 2% of battery by hour, and when using, 1% by 5 minutes. Hello. How do I mirror my Jelly 2E to my 5 year old HDTV (has an HDMI port and USB port but not a Smart TV) and connect a mouse at the same time? Thanks.
FINALLY someone talks about student mode. I have been trying to find something like this for any smartphone. I'm interested in this phone but have two concerns: 1. Does it work with the minimalistphone launcher or another similar OS overlay? 2. I go to a lot of concerts and keep my tickets on my phone. Will people be able to scan barcodes off the screen or will the screen be too small?
Thanks for the review, was considering to buy this and was confused whether i should go with Jelly2.
